TIMELAPSE - Building a PIZZA OVEN easy with DOG HOUSE! (diy start to finish)

- Kevin had an idea to use a dog house as the form for our pizza oven -- and it worked! Watch the timelapse of the build from start to finish!
Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

Update 5/5/2022 - It works great! It seems to retain the heat nicely and so far no cracking. We found that we prefer to cook our pizzas at 650°F The only change we’d make is to set the chimney pipe a few inches higher as some smoke does spill out the front when the fire is roaring in the beginning. 👍🏻

Kaowool is extremely bad for your lungs, need to wear a fine mask at the least when handling it.

Pearlite will forever be CEMENTED (hehe) in my mind as the stuff you incubate snake eggs in, thanks to Snake Discovery. But I suppose since it's so good at incubating, it would be good for insulating as well!

Good job. One thing is the outside may absorb water when it rains (maybe it doesn’t in Arizona!?) Then that water is absorbed and retained by the perlite. When there’s water in a concrete mix and it’s heated it can explode. Seen some folks cover their in ceramic tile to deflect the rain and others coat lots of coats the mortar/ stucco in boiled linseed oil.
