I think the The Centurion Lounge access only affects US issued cards. I recently visited a Centurion Lounge (with an AU-issued card) and I was allowed to bring in guests by only showing a single card & boarding pass.
Brilliant timing, I was just about to renew my RACQ roadside tomorrow. I didn't realize I already had roadside assistance on my card. Thanks heaps for the helpful vids you post! 😀
Would love to upgrade from the platinum edge to the platinum card, but will not get bonus points. 18 months is such a long wait! How hard is it proving income when most of your income is investments?
Hey Raymond! Thanks for your video. A month ago i got my platinum card. And I have just gone ahead and flagged with the customer service that i just got 150,000 and requested for 225,000. Shall keep you updated in how i go.
Hey man, great video! I have never had a CC before but getting into it to maximise value from points mainly for travelling purposes. I am just wondering in general if the points gathered are balanced out by the credit card fee percentage per transaction? In that case direct debit results in no fee
The sign-up bonus is where the bulk of the reward points are going to be accumulated. For ongoing transactions, if you're paying a transaction fee I would say it's generally net even in terms of value if you're planning to redeem those points for travel.
Just tried asking for retention and this was the answer : The Australian government has changed consumer credit card regulations from 1 January 2019. As per card member wants to cancel the account due to any reason, Credit card service providers can not offer them anything to keep the account - 😞
Check out this video about earning more Amex reward points that I just uploaded! These will all apply to the explorer card - th-cam.com/video/TSDn__gqAO0/w-d-xo.html
Hey Raymond, im aware credit cards impact borrowing capacity for a loan. However, does a charge card impact borrowing capacity if Amex platinum isnt a credit card?
Based on what you said about the additional card holders for lounges, does that mean that if we have 2x complimentary passes per year that me and the additional card holder can BOTH go twice in a year?
Do you have any advice on how to get the bonus points for the platinum Amex if you already have an Amex? Or is cancelation and waiting 18 months the only option?
Hey buddy just subscribed. Wondering if you had any advice on when to reach out to AMEX (eg via chat) for a retention offer? Should I try a month in advance of the fee being charged? Or wait till a few days beforehand? Or wait till after fee charged (but potential to reverse it if cancelling)?
Hey mate thanks for subscribing! I was made aware recently that some regulations were put in place prohibiting credit card providers from offering retention offers anymore! So that most likely won't work anymore but you can also still give it a go, I would just contact them maybe a month or two out before your annual fee is charged. Let me know how you go if you decide to try!
@@raymondla thanks mate appreciate it. I will give the shortest version. Have never utilised points but have some very large purchases coming up and it was suggested to me i should be doing this so want to get amongst it in a big way. Close to 88k + wanting to keep the card ongoing (have the cash to pay off immediately). Have good history etc. It has been suggested best card would be amex traveller or platinum. But also need to take into consideration obviously surcharges. Looking for your advice on what you would do in my situation. Any advice but be much appreciated
@@yahdig9640 use a calculator bro, AMEX Explorer nets about 1% value @ 2 pts / $, Platinum will net about 1.125%, slightly higher if you redeem for airline miles, he has a video on that. Regardless, surcharges will almost always be more that points value, so if that's your concern the use EFT. Maybe consider Citi PayAll?
Hi Raymond or anyone if you are an amex customer, you can reach out to me and send a referral link so you get can extra bonuss. Will be signing up in the next few days

This is correct, these changes are still only a US Issued Card problem
Yeah this part in the video is very wrong and misleading.
Wow great video thank you fantastic presentation😊
Can you make a video like this for the Amex Explorer Card?
I'll definitely consider doing a similar video for the Explorer in the future!

Hopefully you're able to get those additional bonus points! Let me know how it goes
Hi, great video. What do you think the min. Credit score is to be approved for this card?
I'd say you want to have a pretty good credit score of 800+ before trying to apply for this card.

Ah that's unfortunate, I did not know that there was a regulation against retention offers. Thanks for the heads up!
Hi can you make tips how to maximise Amex Explorer Card? Thanks

Has anyone found a current / non expired 225,000 reference link?
It's 200,000 right now - need a referral code?

Hey mate unfortunately only way to get the bonus points again is to cancel and wait as per the T&Cs.
@@raymondla thanks for that! Very helpful!

Hi Raymond do you know if I can get the venture X card in Australia or is it US only?
Hey mate that's only in the US unfortunately as that's with Capital One who isn't a provider here
Hey Raymond. If I subscribe are you open to providing advice?
Hey mate just drop a question and I'll be happy to answer it!
