Thanks for building it! It's awesome! I'm thinking of using it in more detail for this Friday, testing out building some of the themed lists from the back of the 6th edition army books to see how well that would work in The Old World.
Congratulations & thank you for your 100th video! I definitely think they will focus on the core factions until they see how popular the old world can be,then they will introduce & fully support the legacy factions! From what I have read that the designer of the old world had written to the same in-depth detail the legacy factions, there are icons on the map that are vampiric, but at the time we are focussing on at release they have retreated back to their keeps….. but I do think they will appear later in the timeline via campaign/almanacks! Great to see your infectious videos ,brightens my day! Keep it up!
Congrats on 100 vids mate. A) i love 3rd ed 40k so really awesome to hear that! And B) yes please do a combo event for old world and mordhiem so I can come and play in it as other than my Dogs of War the only fantasy I have painted up right now is a Mordhiem gang 🤣
The third possibility (which I believe to be true) is that the legacy lists fully play, tested and balanced with the official lists. I look forward to purging the world of vampire scum soon.
I was totally on board with buying a launch box if i could get Orcs and Gobbos (Or Skaven, but poo to that). I'm a 3d printer, and i was absolutely willing to give GW my money for 20 year old models that I already bought back in highschool. Nostalgia would win that war. But no orcs and gobbos....... i want to get painting and play the game, so im stuck with printing an army to get going and just buying the rulebooks separately. If GW had put out a timeline of releases, i could probably wait - but lets be honest, if it's not announced, it legit could be 6 months before another box comes out.
That is definitely a risk, but I can't see why they would do that when - like you say - there are 3D printers out there or companies like Kings of War that will rapidly supply the models if GW don't make them available.
@@90percentgeek There is that! Also curious as to whether your wife has pursued a completely opposite business strategy to GW and produced more mead than people want or if there are simply distribution issues? If the former then I'm sure there are solutions...
In our case it's more a lack of advertising at the moment. Until now we've just supplied it to local shops and the beer festival. She built a web store last year using her day job skills from IT but we haven't really advertised it yet, just sold to people who are already aware of us over Xmas.
One friend of mine was looking to get into Warhammer for the first time in 20 years, he'd been excited about the Old World for months. He wanted Brettonians and didn't get anything in the preorder despite joining the queue at 10am. So he was very disappointed and didn't know that going to his local shop was an option. I'm not sure if he'll bother trying again and that means we've lost another potential hobbiest to play with. So there are some vocal idiots on-line but there are a lot of much more quiet people who are just really disappointed. I couldn't preorder because the site didn't work for me. Eventually got a starter box from Firestorm and luckily I wanted tomb kings who were in lower demand. People in the hobby are used to this launch chaos but for people new to the hobby it doesn't meet our expectations. It's not good enough and it really shouldn't be that hard to buy some toy soldiers.
Just a few thoughts that crossed my mind while reading your post. a) you are 100% right that it is disappointing and we should be allowed to expect better from GW. They aren't a small company and hence should be able to AT LEAST provide people the opportunity to actually order their product during pre-order. b) as long as you are not playing at official tournaments or GW stores, nobody is stopping you from using 3rd party miniatures or printing them yourself. It will be cheaper, you'll have more choice and will actually be able to get what you want. Anyway happy gaming and I hope you can convince your friend to give the game a try!
Yeah, totally understand it's not ideal for everyone. I'm lucky enough to live less than 30 mins from 4 GW stores but totally understand not everyone is that fortunate.
I mean, not all the stuff for the first wave armies is even released yet (foot knights for example). Much though i would like the other armies to return quickly, I just don't think they are going to. We could easily be looking at months - even into 2025 - before all the core factions have had their ranges released. Although I note that WarCom said that at the launch event on the 20th, the next faction will be revealed. Thats good but does imply a ponderous release schedule. Which sucks.
I think GW would prefer to space the releases out a bit, rather than release loads of stuff in the first month, and then have very little to release for the next two years. And then the other thing to consider is how much they have to release for all the other games. I think it's notable that there is at least another week, or two, of releases left to do for Bretonnians and Tomb Kings.
I am super hyped about the game though, and everything I've seen makes me more excited and i think that's also behind a lot of people's disappointment.
Thanks for featuring my army builder! 🥳

Opening boxes is ace! I am old, and get magic nostalgia kicks from them, so might not be everyone’s cup of tea… but I think they’re fun
2nd time watching this video! I couldn't recall if I left a comment before.
Well done on 100 videos!🎉
Love the passion you bring to the hobby!
Aw thanks dude, and glad to see it stood a second watching!
Congrats on the 100th video!
Thanks! 🎉🔨🗡️

😊😊
I’m totally on board with the old box stuff.
Nostalgia all the way!
I would be too if not for the highway robbery prices. Those skeleton horses were old 20 years ago.

Yes please do more raiders of the lost attic 😊😊
Thank you for supporting us Legacy army generals! Sad about spending this much time on my army not to be able to show it off at a GT.
Totally bring it to a non-GW event! There are some really great organizers out there.
Great video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome t-shirt
I hope you're right about releases!
I hope I am too!
Can't wait for old world! Ordered the full 6 grail knights and the bretonnian army book with the dice! Just gotta find people to play with!

You still look unreasonably happy even when suffering from Covid and not surrounded by mead.
I had a box of Battlefleet Gothic Eldar to open.

The whole surprise announcement of the return of the old world year gone was new Kislev stuff, no way they will hold onto that for another year!
05:00 That's great, if only my only local GW store wasn't 5 hours drive away.. Then again I can't afford current GW prices anyway.

Am I the only one curious as to what is hidden by those brown cardboard pieces? oô
The cardboard boxes? They're full of mead for my wife's side business. She's got them up for sale here:
