It's so bizarre that she left the show to explore these other avenues and when I went to go see what she's up to...zip, zero, zilch! I could find nothing! If she said the reason was to be with her son...I'd get that, but not what she said without actually doing something else. Weird!

As a daughter of an alcoholic (that I haven't talked to in 14 years) whose name is Bonnie... I really enjoyed this show and saw my mother in Bonnie. But made her likeable :) I hate how the series ended. I just found out tonight that there wasn't going to be more. Very disappointed :(

There is no new information here as to WHY Ferris left the show. All of these statements have been well publicized. Her reasons for moving on must be very personal. In spite of the upheaval the show remains a wealth of talent both on screan and off. Im sorry to see it end, but am confident they will put a worthy finale. Im sure all involved are grateful for it's long run.
I personally wonder if she needed to take a break to address some personal problems. It's been long speculated she has an eating disorder & a drug/alcohol issue. Something def going on w/ her for a long time and since she left she's been laying really low (not pursuing other career opportunities). If the rumors & physical signs are true, I hope she is in fact addressing some of her problems & taking some personal time.
Ever since I watch the first episode of this show immediately realized how good the chemistry between Cindy and Gemma was. This show has enough excellent episodes to last generations but it's unfortunate good things must come to an end.
One of my favorite shows. I wish Chuck Lorre/producer would have let it gone on for 10 seasons. It’s my go to comfort and entertainment. The characters Bonnie, Jill, Marjorie, Wendy, Christy, Adam, Tammy, Baxter were perfect four the show…in addition to chef Rudy, Regina and all of the other characters/guest stars. Bonnie Plunkett had the best chemistry with Adam, besides Christy dad Alvin. I thought it was so cool how Adam and Bonnie met. Season 3 Episode 16/ Adam met a lady by the name of Linda. Well the number that Linda gave end of being Bonnie’s number. I loved it when she said “I am happily married with 11 children” Adam in return said “No you’re not” Bonnie said how to do you know?!?! Adam “said no one is happily married with 11 children”. I loved it whenAdam called Bonnie out on BS and she Seoul’s just give right end… I can go on and on about this show… Chuck Lorre produces great shows, Like Mom, Two and Half Men, Young Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory, Mike and Molly and other shows..he is the Norman Lear of this time./with a more sarcasm and narcissism in a funny way..
I have an amazing story. One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith. So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana". I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly… I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling. He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car. A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.

I don't watch much TV but I regularly tuned into "Mom". As a woman in recovery, I found the characters to be believable. It is very rare to find accurate portrayals of what recovery is like. Kudos to the scriptwriters for doing their research on how 12 Step programs actually work. I'm watching reruns and they still make me laugh and cry.

I think these videos are burying the lead. The interesting issue was that she waited until the week BEFORE 8th season production began so CBS could not entertain offering up a new show in its place.
Anna Faris was the center of the show. She balanced out her "mom's" overbearing personality, provided most of the humor and we felt compassion for the character when she failed and cheered when she triumphed. There was no balance once she left. Wish her well. She sure has paid her dues. BTW, was the law school we saw her attending located at a community college?

It was one of the rare times where the lead leaving didn’t hurt the show. Really, they slowly wrote her character out the few seasons leading up to it.

My Mom and I are nearly finished rewatching all of mom and just about to start season 8. It’s been a remarkable time going through the series again. That being said I’m still very angry at Ana Farris for leaving the show a season before the series finale. I’m sorry but you don’t just give 7 years of you’re life to a sitcom and then just walk away, it left an abrupt hole that Farris created. Not to mention she’s one of the main characters of the show. Having her leave the show after being on for so long was a very very very huge mistake on her part.
I loved Christy so much! 😭😭I was devastated when she wasn’t in season 8! I didn’t know the actor Who played her quit I’m so sad! And Adam ended up having lung cancer!😭I wanted to know if he was gonna survive or not!
Not only did Anna leave but so did Cristie's kids and Baxter and Candace somewhere in season 4. I feel like those characters were important on the show with more stories they could have wrote but instead we just started seeing them less then not at all then they introduced new characters

Anna has professed out of her own mouth of why her marriage with Christ Pratt didnt work out was because she is a very proud person and unwilling to be vulnerable...insider sources have said that anna was feeling eclipsed by Allison Janney's popularity on the show "Mom" and thought that if she would quit it not only would be a punch in the face for them, but also would possibly show everyone that the show was just not as good without her therefore gaining her sympathy...
Well here's my two cents about this.. If you observe the show closely and the way she speaks at her podcast, there seems to be something amiss.. or like deep seated self confidence issues (or mom issues for real?). She keeps bringing her own stories while she is interviewing someone else, as if screaming for desperate attention that isn't quite desperate. If you also closely observe her character's relationship with others on the show, there can be seen immense struggle as well. She cannot seem to empathise with anyone and is always pissing someone off, never learning the error of her ways. My two cents is that she maybe either aware of it or probably thinks that everyone picks on her and hates her cuz of that (maybe even in reality). And that she may actually be in trouble for real for mental health issues. Maybe Christy's character hit too close to home for her or that what can be seen as happening in the show might be her actual reality... :/
Like wise the character need AA meeting to overcome their Alchohol and drug addition, I think I soon would be needing a AA to stop watching MOM ....it is so addictive n love the Combo of the duo Allison n Ana they are perfect.... I loved "Mom" and never missed it. I've never known a show that could take us from laughter to tears and back again so skillfully. But Christie was always my least favourite character, so I didn't miss her at all. The season after she left was their *best yet,* with ALL the other women AND Adam having great stories. For the network to cancel a great show at its peak just shows they don't have the first clue what they're doing. I can't WAIT to see the garbage they'll show us instead. The crap the networks keep showing is the reason my TV stays OFF most of the week.

I think she left cuz Allison outshines her. She was jealous that Allison won emmys. Sorry but Ana is not that good of an actress. Even Jamie outshined her. Some of her parts she played made me cringe cuz she couldn't pull it off. I loved the show but because of Allison and Jamie and the older woman too. Even guests that came on were better than her. Instead of taking off she could have learned from them. Jealousy is an ugly thing. I don't know what she's gonna do now because that was probably the biggest success she had. I'm living in a time warp. 'Mom" has just started airing for the first time (Series 1) on Australian TV, so I'm looking forward to the next 8 years 😄

Anna leaving definitely caused the cancellation. Alot of people are losing work because of it: right after covid too. I wonder if she thought about that?

I think these videos are burying the lead. The interesting issue was that she waited until the week BEFORE 8th season production began so CBS could not entertain offering up a new show in its place.

I wished they had a follow up on Rosco and Violit on the last season.
Anna Faris was the center of the show. She balanced out her "mom's" overbearing personality, provided most of the humor and we felt compassion for the character when she failed and cheered when she triumphed.
There was no balance once she left. Wish her well. She sure has paid her dues.
BTW, was the law school we saw her attending located at a community college?
They could do the show without her. I was forgetting her. The ladies were doing just fine without her.
Only reason stopped on this cause came across while looking into why cancelled.

@@yabbadabba1975 Well I wasn't missing her. In fact, she was not a top character for me. As I'm sure she wasn't for others. We all had our favorites. But not sure I'm believing ratings dropped. I guess numbers depends on where you're looking. But whatever. Show did not need her to continue.
It was one of the rare times where the lead leaving didn’t hurt the show. Really, they slowly wrote her character out the few seasons leading up to it.
MOM could have went on. They had the talent to pull it off. I hate to say this but I have a real dislike for Anna Farris. She made an incredibly selfish move.

My Mom and I are nearly finished rewatching all of mom and just about to start season 8. It’s been a remarkable time going through the series again. That being said I’m still very angry at Ana Farris for leaving the show a season before the series finale. I’m sorry but you don’t just give 7 years of you’re life to a sitcom and then just walk away, it left an abrupt hole that Farris created. Not to mention she’s one of the main characters of the show. Having her leave the show after being on for so long was a very very very huge mistake on her part.

Not only did Anna leave but so did Cristie's kids and Baxter and Candace somewhere in season 4. I feel like those characters were important on the show with more stories they could have wrote but instead we just started seeing them less then not at all then they introduced new characters
Her character on the show did deserve better things in life.

Anna has professed out of her own mouth of why her marriage with Christ Pratt didnt work out was because she is a very proud person and unwilling to be vulnerable...insider sources have said that anna was feeling eclipsed by Allison Janney's popularity on the show "Mom" and thought that if she would quit it not only would be a punch in the face for them, but also would possibly show everyone that the show was just not as good without her therefore gaining her sympathy...
I just started watching this show during pandemic. It was says to see Farsi leave. But the ensemble is so strong that I continue to love this show.

Well here's my two cents about this..
If you observe the show closely and the way she speaks at her podcast, there seems to be something amiss.. or like deep seated self confidence issues (or mom issues for real?). She keeps bringing her own stories while she is interviewing someone else, as if screaming for desperate attention that isn't quite desperate. If you also closely observe her character's relationship with others on the show, there can be seen immense struggle as well. She cannot seem to empathise with anyone and is always pissing someone off, never learning the error of her ways. My two cents is that she maybe either aware of it or probably thinks that everyone picks on her and hates her cuz of that (maybe even in reality). And that she may actually be in trouble for real for mental health issues. Maybe Christy's character hit too close to home for her or that what can be seen as happening in the show might be her actual reality... :/
Like wise the character need AA meeting to overcome their Alchohol and drug addition, I think I soon would be needing a AA to stop watching MOM ....it is so addictive n love the Combo of the duo Allison n Ana they are perfect.... Ana we need u back.... Though the season eight was amazing but Christy was missesd. Others are beautiful too in their character Jill, Wendy, Marjorie n Adam. ❤ Love From India 🇮🇳

I loved "Mom" and never missed it. I've never known a show that could take us from laughter to tears and back again so skillfully.
But Christie was always my least favourite character, so I didn't miss her at all. The season after she left was their *best yet,* with ALL the other women AND Adam having great stories. For the network to cancel a great show at its peak just shows they don't have the first clue what they're doing. I can't WAIT to see the garbage they'll show us instead.
The crap the networks keep showing is the reason my TV stays OFF most of the week.
She really could be very annoying although I loved the show; they made her too neurotic and whiny…..
I still watch mom because I love the mom. But I do miss Anna Faris is not the same.

I'm very sorry to see this show end. I hope they will reconsider this and have a few more seasons. It is one of my favorite shows. I'm disabled, watch tv all day, and tend go watch the same shows over and over. I'm always looking for the reruns of Mom. Hope if there is a way, it will come back.
I was actually so tired of Christie complaining. I thought it was time for her to leave.i really wanted to see the rest of the cast have their parts expanded,especially Wendy.
I hate when the title says one thing and then I spend 5 or 6 minutes watching only to find out they never tell us the answers.

I think she left cuz Allison outshines her. She was jealous that Allison won emmys. Sorry but Ana is not that good of an actress. Even Jamie outshined her. Some of her parts she played made me cringe cuz she couldn't pull it off. I loved the show but because of Allison and Jamie and the older woman too. Even guests that came on were better than her. Instead of taking off she could have learned from them. Jealousy is an ugly thing. I don't know what she's gonna do now because that was probably the biggest success she had. I say they start it up again and find another Christy lol. I could adjust as long as they can act better than her and keep up with Allison!!
It was the mother/daughter dynamic that made the show what it was ❤
