    “Having played with this all morning, its much bigger than i expected” - 5am me is giggling like a moron on the commute in.
    Currently looking at this as an alternative to Avecto priv management. So quite intrigued!

    Man, every time I look something up for work (ie. Implementing this feature), you're the first videos that pop up. So well thought out and easy to follow, thank you a ton!

      Thanks! I make videos about the stuff that is interesting to me, and being a techy means it’s also interesting to some other people ! Thanks for the sub!

    Great video! Works like a charm over here. Where is the justification sent to? In other words for me as an admin, where can I view these justifications?

    This is really useful, do you have any videos on how to target specific apps?

    Hey Dean! Thanks for this video, is this the method to use if I am trying to BLOCK users from being able to download/install games/gaming applications on their Window devices, from online, the MSFT Store, the web, etc. Also, those who already have the games installed on their machine, how do we block them from still being able to access the game application?

    Hello,
    What is the difference between Windows authentication (it will display UAC ?) and Business justification please ?

    • @DeanEllerbyMVP
      @DeanEllerbyMVP  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question - Windows Authentication does not display UAC. Windows Authentication asks the user to verify who they are - it requests their biometric or PIN / password.
      I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure what that is for, and I will be finding out ASAP.

      @@DeanEllerbyMVP Kinda sounds like it would be a self-elevate feature that doesn't require going through IT to approve an app, but at the same time has the capability to log and prove that a user installed

  • @strikesbac

    What happens if they just hit the Run as Administrator option? Standard UAC prompt?

    • @DeanEllerbyMVP
      @DeanEllerbyMVP  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah - UAC and EPM don't conflict. The UAC process is untouched.

    If just a kb patch. Will it try to install it? Could be a good thing for it to do

    • @DeanEllerbyMVP
      @DeanEllerbyMVP  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The feature isn't enabled by the KB. The components are deployed (into ProgramFiles) via Intune when you enable the feature via the Elevation Settings policy.

    Seems there are local logs too
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft EPM Agent
    This is neat. Some 3rd party EPM tool providers won't be happy :-D

    Hello, thanks for the video what is the difference between this and run as administrator?

    • @DeanEllerbyMVP
      @DeanEllerbyMVP  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is similar to Run As Admin, but with Run As Admin you need to either have local admin on the device, or credentials for a local admin.
      With this, users don’t need to have local admin at all, and can elevate apps on a per app basis.
      The basic features that are released now are great, but the next releases should see the capability to allow users to send a request to an Intune admin, called a “managed elevation”.

    You opening lines, will this cost extra once out of public preview ?

    • @DeanEllerbyMVP
      @DeanEllerbyMVP  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - once out of public preview, it'll be part of the Intune Suite. That's either going to be in Intune Plan 2, or as a part of Intune Suite itself (like Advanced Endpoint Analytics seems to be).
