Not surprised to hear the news about GT. Been in the ‘tea leaves’ for a few years.

I feel for the GT and Rocky employees - what a bummer way to end the year. I wouldn't be surprised to see more bike and component companies bite the dust in 2025.

Canyon might be next with the battery recall they had. End times. Zink bike looks sick. I know the Zink brothers cool dudes. They are from Reno Tahoe area where I live.👊

No, GT Bicycles is not closing down, but it is pausing new product releases and laying off staff:
    Explanation
In December 2024, GT Bicycles announced that it would pause new product releases and lay off staff to streamline operations and focus on its core strengths. The brand will continue to sell bikes from its existing inventory, and Cycling Sports Group will handle warranty and customer service.
    Background
GT Bicycles separated from Cycling Sports Group in 2022 and became a stand-alone brand owned by Pon Holdings. The brand moved its headquarters from Wilton, Connecticut to Aliso Viejo, California, near its original Southern California headquarters. However, the brand has faced challenges this year, including layoffs and deep discounts on current products.
    Future
GT Bicycles says that it remains a brand with strong potential and that this decision is intended to lay a solid foundation for its next chapter.

No way?! Bummer for the bike shop, but ironically hilarious too, I guess that just shows people still want their bikes 😂

All us manufacturers moved away from US to china etc and have lost any distinction from other Asian brands
