I think the Truglo Tritium Pro (TG231G1AC) is about $20 more than the Truglo Tritium Brite Site (TG231G1A) because the front sight has a fiber optic sleeve around the tritium. If you are not using the front sight, you may as well buy the cheaper version and save $20.
Thank you for this video. I had read another article that stated S&W Body Guard 380 sights would fit the LCP Max, but I found out the hard way that all sights are not created equal. I first purchased the MeproLight Body Guard night sights (part #ML-11780) after reading the article. I bought them and when I went to install the rear sight, the rear sight slipped right through and did not fit. It was too thin for the dovetail. @@ZabDevin Listen i am a keyboard commando on this subject, but what i have researched is that Galloway precision has the Sigurd trigger which looks good . Check youtube and their site. Mcarbo has a spring kit to reduce the trigger pull weight. Whenever you add aftermarket parts always test fire the gun & check the forums.
Was watching a video of someone putting the handgun in a vise and striking the sights with a punch. I could see the slide bending. Just got a sight pusher for $10. Cheap insurance IMO. I put the Sigurd short stroke trigger and all the springs and pins from Galloway Precision and Mcarbo and the TruGlo night Sights. It added $165 to the price but it will be my new 247 carry gun and nothing is more portable and powerful at the same time. Running Underwood Xtreme Defenders which are F’ing pricy.
Awesome! How’s your accuracy with this firearm? Mine still sucked, even after sending it to Ruger, and receiving a new barrel. But, at the end of the day, I still love it because of the micro-compact size and the magazine capacity, especially with extended magazines available.
Sounds interesting. I need to do some research on those rounds. … Why do you like them? I use Hornady Critical Defense. They seem to be effective (hollow point) from watching TH-cam videos and reading, however I’ve never used them other than at the range. Hope I never have to. 💯

What FPVs are you flying? I’ve flown everything from camera drones, to 5” freestyle, to cinematic. Right now I’m flying my Mini 4 Pro with Integra goggles & RC Motion 2 Controller. It’s fun, but not as fun as full acro, because maneuverability is sacrificed for stability. Pros and cons either way, in my opinion.
@@ZabDevin I build most of my drones. I have a few 5” racing machines but the the ones I fly the most are 3” micros with HD cameras and ( Fat Sharks HD3) TBS Tango 2 running Crossfire RX/TX. I also have a couple DJI FPV Drones and a couple 3d drones. I haven’t been very active with it lately.

Hi, it can be really tough to remove some sights so you have to ensure that the pusher is tight and mated properly with the slide and sight (as low as possible on the sight without touching the slide). Thanks for watching.
@@ZabDevin I was finally able to get the rear sight off. I had to use a socket and a 9 inch extension to get more leverage on the sight pusher crank handle. Once again thanks!

Critical question....and I hope you recorded these dimensions, but I fear most people don't do this. Question...as installed, is the aftermarket sight HIGHER or SAME height as the original? Even now after it's installed...if you have a digital micrometer, you should be able to see if the overall unit height from the bottom of the dovetail to the top is the same or not. Why is this important? .....besides the night-viewing capability of the rear sight....MANY owners are reporting severely low point-of-impact vs point-of-aim....and it's not attributed to owner error. For some....the rear sight simply needs to be higher to correct. Any info here?
Unfortunately, I didn’t take measurements because I replaced the sight for night sight capability, not to correct the low POI. By the way, I have contacted Ruger regarding the low POI and they directed me to return the firearm to them for warranty service if the problem persists. I’m not sure if it’s me or the gun at this point. I will update after I test it again.

How much was the total cost with sights, tool, shipping and tax? Guess somewhere around $170+. A gunsmith would install for less but it’s still expensive in total when your just replacing the sights. Hi, you’re probably right about the total costs or close. I recommend you go with the cheapest option that gets the job done. I have used the tool more than once on two firearms, so at this rate I will at least break even eventually, I hope. I like to fix things myself rather than pay people, if possible. It’s really not that difficult to do. You could even use a wooden dowel and rubber mallet and get the job done if you’re careful. Good luck!
I bought the Galloway optic mount. When a red dot is mounted, it changes the slide weight a bit, and mine began to malfunction with ammo that worked perfectly beforehand. Also, the mount fits loosely in the slide, and has only one screw to hold it on. Their staff said to use a hammer and chisel to add some dings in the mount so it fits better. Not a good design in my opinion.
Why does your gun have "white day dots" on the back sight but the package shows a blackened out rear sight? I want the white rings for a 3 dot daylight sight picture but packages online show the back sight just blackened out????? Any ideas?
Please tell us which way you pushed the rear site out and install the replacement site. Looking at the front sight Right or left. It makes a big difference. The rear sight and dovetail are designed to have a narrow side. This allows for the site to be secure. Sig you must push the sight out from the right side and install them from the left side. The video should be detailed and illustrative for the viewer. It's all in the details. Process improvement.

I tried this but the rear sight is VERY LOOSE. The bodyguard rear sight has a set screw and that does keep it tight, but I’m not happy with it. Did you find that the rear sight slides right through? The front sight from this kit fit perfectly
@@ZabDevin yes, it’s the bodyguard 380 TruGlo Pro. I even bought a second set to see if manufacturing tolerances would vary and the second set did the same thing. I ended up making a shim and now it’s perfect, but I had to work at it. I sacrificed a piece of .006 inch feeler gauge which gave it enough tension to require a sight pusher tool.

Hello, I have a problem with my max that shoots low, I want to put a higher rear sight to compensate for the low impact problem. Is the rear sight you replaced taller than the one that comes from the factory with the lcp max?
Hi, unfortunately it is the same height. I sent my firearm back to Ruger and they replaced the barrel. It still shoots low though. I think it’s a matter of practicing a lot with this little gun.
I had the same problem with my Max shooting low. I caller Ruger, told them it was shooting low and right away gave me a choice. I could either send in the pistol or they would send me a new barrel and slide. I chose the barrel/slide and 6 days later FedEx dropped it off. Ruger has outstanding customer service. BTW I can’t say it improved accuracy. I haven’t been to the range yet

It’s okay. I had to send it back to Ruger because it wasn’t shooting straight. They replaced the barrel. Now it shoots a little better, but low at seven yards. Yes, I carry this when I want a convenient small pocket gun, but I am looking for a replacement.
I had some put on then Directly removed them! The rear dots are fuzzy looking because they have Small dots versus the front sight which is big and white during the day. The night performance was disappointing too. At night the dots all look the same size and color which can be disorienting trying to make sure the front is in the middle. Lastly, the deal breaker was when I tried to draw from pocket carry. The factory sights are angled to follow the outline of the gun. These tru-glo sights hang up on the pants because of the abrupt edge that no longer "angles" out of the pocket seamlessly like the factory rear. If you Never pocket carry, this might not be an issue at All. But with the other down sides, I wish I hadn't spent money on the tru-glo. I'm now going to a green sight set for the rear, that has the angle like the factory's. I'll leave the front white and see how that looks. 🎯
@@THunt-ss4hy I couldn't find one but I noticed a different problem. When lining up the night sights that I did try, the 3 dots are smaller and closer together than traditional sights. This created a sort of blurred look. It's really weird but the "glow" spot is Not as big as the white front factory dot. The glow area is small and not nearly as usable as I thought. If I had to have all night sights, I would now try something with a different middle color like orange maybe. But I went with a laser instead. Wish crimson would hurry up, but I went with armalaser I believe. I'll double check if you want details. Now my sights are factory original. I think Ruger put more thought into these than first glance. I love my Max‼️
@@Greenie-43x I also have a P365, and I think the factory rear sights are the same... probably the same company. Yeah, the two glow dots on the rear are pitifuly small. My ideal rear sights would be just like the front.. same size glow dot, and outlined in white for daytime.
Amazon. My gun shoots low too. By the way, I only replaced the rear sight. I think it’s just getting used to the gun. Either that or the factory front sight is too high (tall). I may replace the front as well if my groups are still low after more practice.

The night performance was disappointing too. At night the dots all look the same size and color which can be disorienting trying to make sure the front is in the middle.
Lastly, the deal breaker was when I tried to draw from pocket carry. The factory sights are angled to follow the outline of the gun. These tru-glo sights hang up on the pants because of the abrupt edge that no longer "angles" out of the pocket seamlessly like the factory rear. If you Never pocket carry, this might not be an issue at All. But with the other down sides, I wish I hadn't spent money on the tru-glo.
I'm now going to a green sight set for the rear, that has the angle like the factory's. I'll leave the front white and see how that looks. 🎯

@@THunt-ss4hy I couldn't find one but I noticed a different problem. When lining up the night sights that I did try, the 3 dots are smaller and closer together than traditional sights. This created a sort of blurred look.
It's really weird but the "glow" spot is Not as big as the white front factory dot. The glow area is small and not nearly as usable as I thought.
If I had to have all night sights, I would now try something with a different middle color like orange maybe.
But I went with a laser instead. Wish crimson would hurry up, but I went with armalaser I believe. I'll double check if you want details.
Now my sights are factory original. I think Ruger put more thought into these than first glance.

@@Greenie-43x I also have a P365, and I think the factory rear sights are the same... probably the same company. Yeah, the two glow dots on the rear are pitifuly small. My ideal rear sights would be just like the front.. same size glow dot, and outlined in white for daytime.

Amazon. My gun shoots low too. By the way, I only replaced the rear sight. I think it’s just getting used to the gun. Either that or the factory front sight is too high (tall). I may replace the front as well if my groups are still low after more practice.
Which model sights are these the TG231MP2W?
A Google search says they are the .380 Bodyguard tritium sights that fit the LCP Max.
@@ZabDevin I get what you're saying, but google search also shows "Truglo Tritium Pro Night Sights Ruger LC9/9S/380" as well and that doesn't fit because I just bought them. lol, that why I was asking for specific model numbers. Amazon won't accept a return even if unopened. But no worries.
@@ZabDevin TG231MP2W is what ruger says on their website; so I just ordered from them. However a review on the ruger site says the front sight does not fit.
I was going to find some dayglo paint and try to dab perfect dots on my rear sights. anyone try this yet.?

Idk why ruger didn't give us a rear night sight from factory front only makes no sense to me you could have your gun aligned crooked and think you're good
