The Nuka-Cola Quantum banner inside the Goodsprings general store is cool. I never noticed that before. In terms of lore, it makes sense that Chet would own that. Even though Quantum was released only on the East Coast as a publicity stunt, after two-hundred years a promotional banner could've easily traveled across the wasteland until finally settling in Chet's hands.
Banners and promo items also sometimes reach stores before the product itself. This is especially true with brand new timed releases, like a videogame launch or special flavor of cola, where they want to make sure everyone gets availability at the same time so the hype doesn't fizzle. Or maybe the devs just wanted Chet to have cool stuff :)

Promotional items or merchandise are popular to collect, the problem is so many companies don't make enough to justify a collection or really cheap out like the fnaf merchandise.
Someone should make a shareable document listing all the mods that restore/fix cut content featured in this series. Hell, I'd do it myself if I had access to my computer.
The game's been out since 2010... The Bethesda modding community makes me sad... I don't think it will ever happen. I don't think modders will ever 'do the right thing' when it comes to fostering the realization of the developers original vision for this game. Some take it upon themselves to do some of this work on their own, but there's no collaboration. There is so much overlap and incompatibility it's truly a nightmare. The modding community is too preoccupied with giant total conversion mods, lore un-friendly mods, cheat mods, joke mods, fetishization of characters, (4k) texture and model replacers, literally millions of useless weapon mods and a million more flashy animation mods for those weapons, oh and who could forget mod pages with descriptions that might as well say "I don't care if you download this mod." --- Ever realize how the new 'collections' feature wouldn't even be necessary if modders wrote comprehensive descriptions and if users went out of their way to help others? On top of this, the major/essential mods for New Vegas are literally updated every fifteen minutes and it gets tiring updating my whole mod suite every other day. Hanging out in major New Vegas modding circles for the past 6 months, I learned that these people fight amongst themselves constantly and seemingly don't even have real jobs - so this is why time is not of the essence for them. They have been modding this game THE WAY THEY WANT (they are in the clique of major modders, not you!) for 12 years and counting! I realized there are no actual plans to promote the developers original vision any time soon. I am getting burnt out from modding a game which I've never been able to play the way I truly desire. It's sort of depressing in a way. I just try to move on and find enjoyment from other games/projects rather than letting modding Bethesda games consume my life.
@@contramachina354 you're a fool talking out of your ass, the Jsawyer balance mod has been lovingly reworked and fixed by modders, as well as their being several cut content mods, one I still use, that adds all a ton of the cut stuff back in with numerous fixes and streamlining.

Hell, the TTW team can't keep track of all of the stuff themselves, half the time. The Tale of Two Wastelands crew are great people but they are guilty of the things I speak of as well. There's a lot of things they refuse to do, and other areas they get carried away with. They recently fucked the economy regarding weapons for example and some people pushed back on that, some had to make mods to correct that. Playing unmodded TTW is way too easy - it must be modded for experienced players who want an immersive experience.

I could never really get the caravan down, but i enjoyed trying to collect all the decks (including Sierra Madre and the frustrating part that the whole deck is not in the game lol)
Your NV Cut Content videos are an institution. I geuninely think this game is an Eldritch entity that creates more to find the deeper you look, and you maybe should be careful. I had a phase where I would come home tired from work and binge watch these, so your intro and outro music is now firmly embedded in my psyche.
Happy to find out those caravan lines were added back into game. Caravan has become one of my favourite card games after learning how to play this year
It's interesting how much you can infer about the development process by digging through the game files. Never get tired of these videos, still my favorite game of all time.
I think the neon signs being hard to hear is meant to give a sense of realism. With all the noise of music, hawkers, and drunk people, you'd have to be right next to them anyway to hear anything. The same could be said of the sound of rain hitting the metal road signs in Honest Hearts.
The Joshua Trees LOD thing has caused me many a paranoid stroll, as the model changing registers as movement in my eyes, is vaguely human/deathclaw shaped from a distance and I wind up pulling my gun and spamming vats at a blasted tree.
I'd love to see a mod that attempts to revive most of this cut content. So many modders have poured hours into making the game look better and run smoother but as far as I know nobody has attempted a "fnv uncut" mod. With the advancements in ai voices the impossible task of adding the missing voice lines is suddenly a reality waiting to happen.
Someone has most likely suggested this one but you should talk about the Doc Mitchell spinning head glitch in fallout New Vegas when it was originally released, Would be cool to see a video looking Into why this happened and other patched glitches. Love the videos !! Keep making awesome stuff !!
Definitely on my list of things to do if time travel were possible - tell Obsidian to skip making Caravan and the ammo crafting to spend more time on area and character content instead.

The problem with ammo crafting is that you don't find parts of ammo, if you want to reload ammo you have to break down ammo, which is ammo you could have used or sold for more ammo, however they could have simplified the process by including a heat source in reloading benches, and having you need the right casings, just a single powder, a weight of lead per bullet, and then primers, simplification on the process would have helped it, rather then cutting it
I'm standing here and I realize that FNV was trying to make history. But who's to judge, the right from wrong when our mods are down I think we'll both agree that cut content leads to more cut content but in the end it has to be this way.

I might he crazy, but I think there is like ONE Quantum in the base game. I remember finding it and being super careful not to drink it because I was convinced it had special properties. At 11:32 the "road" mentioned is actually one of the grid lines on the map, not an actual road. At least, the item circled in the video is a grid marker

Great work on finding these hidden gems my dude, some super interesting stuff there. One piece of criticism - you've got an audible humm that comes through when you're doing some voice lines. It would be easy to fix this, just go into the audio tool you're using to record and apply a low pass filter to cut it out. Looking forward to watching more 🤠

Curious theory, the noise you mentioned when you ask Rex to switch to a ranged weapon sounds eerily similar to the sound of the lizard thing Obi Wan rode after falling leaving the planet in episode III. Could they have cut that sound for potential copyright issues?

I love that caravan is in the game. I collect cards irl, so collecting the different caravan decks scratches an itch I didn't knew I had. Plus, I'm one of the ten people who actually understand how to play it.

Fallout new vegas is the Cyberpunk 2077 that it tried to be but old gen consoles were holding those games back without seeing their fullest potential
I was good at caravan, earned a lot of money in game for it.
I wonder if another dev has added in a “ok companion, I want you to primarily use ranged weapons. **confused noises** [the companion is unable to use ranged weapons, dumbass]” joke in their game before, because the cut Rex interaction would have been iconic if implemented into new vegas
Curious theory, the noise you mentioned when you ask Rex to switch to a ranged weapon sounds eerily similar to the sound of the lizard thing Obi Wan rode after falling leaving the planet in episode III. Could they have cut that sound for potential copyright issues?
