Nice Video, Bro! I'm currently running a Dex/Faith Lightning Build, and I have two Katanas equipped. One is the Nagakiba because of its range and the many good ashes of wars for this weapon. And the other one is the Dragonscale. I love the lightning / forst Ash of War, and it fits my build ( maybe give this weapon a shot for your next video ;) )

It seems like you could put the incantation blood flame blade on the Nagakiba and make the build even more powerful.
That’s what I run. I do a lot more damage with it
Plus golden vow and flame grant me strength
Well I think that double slash fits better as ash of war for the nagakiba since it have like 3 "stances" to surprise your enemy. First going in two slash then if you continue press the button it goes on a quick 3 slashes then ending up with one good healthy slash ( the last one is hars to hit but is pretty satisfying if you do it 😁)
Is it better for pve too or only for pvp?
@@therobot4276 specially with pve you going to drain all the life from bosses with just few combo.
Piercing fang can get through shields and shit too though. Idk if I can give that up. Good in every situation I feel like.
Im now halfway done with the stats ,but Im using the double slash ash ,its very good too

I don't use Katanas much but they're always a joy when I do - This weapon is probably my favourite of the bunch :)

Been thinking about powerstancing the nagakiba cuz powerstancing godskin peelers is just too op
I recommend you to split some of the dex that u can use Blackflame Blade (for percentage dmg against enemys with more health) or Bloodflame Blade (for extra bleed buildup and fire dmg) incantations.
when i did that the dmg was not as good maybe especially compared to double katana perhaps i did it wrong maybe i didnt do it the correct way idk forsure

Put 25 in faith in 12 in arcane and you should be able to use golden vow, flame grant me strength, and blood flame blade which at least with my stats raise ar by roughly 400.

Just beat the elden best with keen nagakiba and unsheathe ash. Really fun to play

Bruh I forgot exactly what it’s called but the airbender slash ash of war shreds close range cause it is two attacks but adds range for slippery enemies

What if I use grease with this build? Is it a good idea?
Grease is very good with the Nagakiba in general as u can apply grease of the weakness of whatever enemy ur fighting

Or when you are invaded and he'll show up after 15 seconds. After defeating the invader, walk a little further and there is the guy that will drop the nagakiba after defeating him
i believe he specifically shows up when fighting Bloody Finger Nerijus outside murkwater cave specifically and then a couple more times else where once you progress his story.
You lose elenora's poleblade and Yuri's armor set doing that. Its not worth it when you can just use an uchigatana at the game's start.
What’s good for level 100?
Bot only can you get Nagakiba way faster by just killing Yura in Limgrave, but focussing on strenght makes the nagakiba (2handed) way stronger than any dex build
Any reason why you wouldn’t do an occult nagakiba for the extra bleed instead of keen?
It has a higher AR with it like this and still has a good bleed affinity ontop of that :)
If anyone’s wondering what great rune to use, use Rahdans since it way better for late game than godricks

You can kill Yura at the beginning of the game if you want the Nagakiba early. He's under the bridge near Agheel lake.

Solid enough build, but I feel like the strength of a build is limited when you don't have a decent ability to use sorceries or incantations. With this build, you have no true ranged options (aside from consumables but still). With this katana you can effectively use a cold infusion to benefit from not only status, but gain from putting points in int, allowing you to use sorceries. I also think you can effectively stick with the keen affinity, and use the dragon communion/frenzied flame seal and bloodflame blade + whatever incantations you want. Bloodflame Blade is incredible on this weapon, makes getting bleed a lot easier (and looks cool af). I actually really like the ash of war choice here, while I typically go for unsheathe I think Swords Dances is definitely worth a try. Ultimately I do like the build here, I only feel that this weapon is even better with incantation/sorceries, it works so well with either type of magic.
I just find that the weapon drops off a load when changing the damage type (apart from adding bleeding ash of wars like blood flame) and in all honesty, I personally didn’t feel like I was missing out by not having spells etc - if there’s a way to find a more perfect balance adding some faith points in the build, you could start using some powerful incantations but I’d prefer to keep the high damage with the weapon :)
Yeah this build is suboptimal. At least dual wield if you are not going int or faith.
You create absurd versatility by running incantations and sorceries. Bloodflame blade has a super low requirement and stacks bleed. You can also go for a full bleed build, stack arcane instead of dex, grab the dragonbreath gear in Limgrave, and gain full elemental diversity, range, and extreme bleed buildup. Sorceries speak for themselves.
OP's build into a bleed resistant tank blows chunks.
No just use the bolt of grasanax it scaled like b off dex so
Idk why but I just can't use this weapon. When everyone else uses it, it stabs me from the other side of the arena but when I use it, I can't hit people at knife range, it plays like the wakazashi for me.
A lot of people (myself included) rely on the ash of war catching people to then finish off with the regular attacks of the sword - have you tried switching the ash of war to something like sword dance or spinning slash? - that way if you hit an enemy, you’re guaranteed at least one more hit after that as well :)
@@tkcjazza Yeah tried all the AoWs, I find double slash gives me best results but I'm still getting out ranged by short swords, I suppose I am just bad at PvP tbf.
@@bobthestinky7369 Are you sure it's not a case of out speeding rather than range? A short sword won't have the same reach but if they are close enough, they can prod you and interrupt your attacks - That's the only thing I can think of because it shouldn't be beating you in range :)
@@tkcjazza Yeah, probably just not fast enough swings for the shorter weapons, it seems like it does very little poise damage too, I've noticed it's very easy to tank hits so that they don't do damage?
I keep trying to make a faith dagger build but sacred blade on the nagakiba is just too good. I only meant for it to be my starting weapon but can't seem to replace it
doesnt the points into faith instead of dex end up reducing dmg at least compared to double katana or any 2 handed katana at all?
I’m hitting at over 1400 AR with the sacred relic sword. I got a nasty build for the DLC

Did you speak to yura at any other spots?? Essentially it’ll be where you last spoke to him - that could be agheel lake, raya lucaria entrance or church of marika in Altus plateau
@@tkcjazza I don’t believe so, i first saw him at the mountain and it dropped his armour, i checked in 2 other locations where he’s been but haven’t found it, i will check where you said incase i have and forgot
@@timesupeliiI know this is late, but if you haven’t talked to him until you’ve spoken with his possessed body (by the frenzied flame) in the mtn tops of the giants, you’re locked from getting the sword until you NG+ play through. If you start one, you can immediately kill him at the lake in Limgrave to obtain it. Or do his quest line.
i would add bloodflame blade as it just wrecks everything (require 2 more in arcane or faith I believe)

This might be in the comments already but U can just kill him at the start of the game if u go to the cave patches is in and defeat the encounter right outside and keep walking he will be under a sort of land bridge and u can kill him there

50 vigor, 20 mind, 29 endurance, 20 strength, 80 dexterity, 10 intelligence faith and arcane.
No reason to not use incantations and level some faith

Hello ,Im new ro the game and I and wanna do my first run with this weapon .Im gonna take my time and match the same stats ,armor and everything else. Is there anything more that I have to do ?
Not really - That's all you need to be doing but feel free to try other weapons whilst you're levelling up :)

I really like using double slash with it. Lord of Blood's Exultation, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, and Alexander's Shard make the rapid hits and bleed buildup really ramp up the damage.
Hey man! Just wondering, has this been nerfed? looking at changing it to keen, and its giving my dex rating a B rather than an A.
Not that I’m aware of… obviously just double check that your nagakiba is maxed out to level 25 - that’s the only thing I can think is possibly why yours isn’t an A in dex scaling :)

The standard quality nagakiba scale off both str + dex while this goes fully into dex
2 are kinda like the same but idk which one will put out more dmg
Both work with flame blade + golden vow too
I would say if you’re level 150, like this build, definitely turn it into a keen variant and pump everything into dex - but if you’re a much higher level, you will benefit from strength and dex scaling if you can put both stats up to like 60/70 :)

You can run two if you’d like - people like to do that to attack with both at the same time but realistically 1 is more than enough :)

Essentially with the stats in this vid, take a few points out of vigor/endurance and maybe drop dex down to around 50/60 - that will be the best bet :)

from my experience takes away from the bleed and then you have to go for strength instead of dex when its primarily a dex weapon i think heavy is for strength weps i think

Well apparently killing him doesn’t actually give you the weapon so don’t do that. You just get his outfit but not the weapon.
Whereabouts did you kill him? because if it was away from the area under the broken bridge that I showed in the vid - You need to go there to actually grab the weapon (don't ask me why, game is coded to drop it in the first place he spawns during his quest lol)
use the blood flame and flame grant me strength incantations with duel slash on the nagakiba……golden vow if you want.

Not if the weapon doesn't scale in arcane. If you're using keen affinity then dexterity is better and leveling arcane won't do much for bleed damage.

As for the content, I am pretty disappointed. You are really underselling this build if you are not running an incantation or a dual wield.
Bloodflame / blackflame blade is massive. You can even keep keen and the dual wield. 12 faith and 10 arcane for bloodflame is peanuts and you get a much faster bleed stack. Or you can dual wield with an uchigatana or a second nagakiba in NG+. Swap weapon hands for using a second ash of war. Jump damage is absurd.

Nah man the weapon is fantastic. I’m a noob to the soulsborne series and am working on platinuming Elden Ring. For my second run I decided to use this weapon and it slapped and I had way more fun than my first play through where I used the bloodhound fang.
