How to record gallery view in Zoom

- Zoom Cloud Recording setting is one gray/tricky area. By default, Zoom Cloud Recording only records in Speaker view (one person on the screen at a time), but we often prefer HOST view - when we invite another guest, or two, or when we change to gallery view with many others on the screen at a time. In order to achieve this effect, you MUST change a default setting in Zoom.
This video helps you walk through every step to make sure the change is made, so that you can record in gallery view (as well as speaker view and screen-share view).

does this only work with paid versions of zoom? I don't see the option in settings to record in gallery view, and don't have a cloud record setting. But my local recordings only record in speaker view, and I don't see any option to change this. Help?

If I didn't select gallery view, is it possible to retrieve it after only recording speaker view?
I just did an amazing interview and then I looked at the recording and it was all speaker view..Yuck. So then I googled how to change and found your video. Thank you! I can't go back and fix the interview but I prepared for next time.
Very annoying I know! For bigger events consider a co-host, or someone who can do a backup recording, including screen recording can often save the day too!

What about spotlighting while recording in gallery veiw?
Thanks for this video...I clicked all the boxes you stated...but when I looked back at the recording every time someone spoke the speaker was the only one visible. My goal was to keep Gallery View constant so we can see everyone when one person was speaking instead of only highlighting the speaker....Did I miss something?? Help??
Hi! I noticed it failed for me once recently too. Please ask a cohost to record locally! I always have a backup person, or you can invite yourself on another machine too. Local recordings will show split screen or gallery view with fewer issues

Yes you should be able to. Be sure to run a test with a few people first. In zoom now you can record both gallery and individual speaker view. I find local recordings to be more flexible sometimes

What can I do if I've recorded a Zoom call and it has only captured the presentation and not the speakers? Am I able to edit after the recording to show the gallery & speakers...or am I screwed?
Hi! If you checked all the recording options there is one without speakers. I also noticed that the newer version of a Zoom has a feature to only show the presentation and not the speaker during the live webinar or meeting.

Hi.. how to have a gallery view that showing all the participant when the host was sharing the screen. Now, i can only see the screen and speakers video, and cannot see other participant.
Upper right hand corner inside zoom, choose view / gallery view. This works during the presentation mode as well

Hi Kamila, unfortunately I don't think there's an option. It frustrated me too knowing this after the fact.
To display participants name in a Zoom recording, is that only possible for Cloud recordings or also for local recordings?

Question, can you only add the name bar in restream, is there a way to add the name bar in zoom? Can't truly see the zoom name on a recording.
Zoom's name bar is small - but you can rename yourself; Restream's much fancier and has many designs
