And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer, [especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt [or attack] you. Indeed, the disbelievers are ever to you a clear enemy.
    Sura An-Nisa' Aya 101

While we're on the topic, can you please also address
    1. if qasar is recommended/mandatory/optional while travelling?
    2. When one performs qasar is it logical to perform other sunnah-nafil prayers?
    3. What would you say about an individual that know fully well that they are travelling but prefers not to qasar just to get out of the distance debate/controversy?

If you go back to the beginning of the video, the sh. Mentions how Umar (r.a) asked the prophet (pbuh) about whether qasr requires you to be in fear and etc, however, the prophet (pbuh) says to take it as a charity from Allah.
Hence if we refuse, it’s as if we refuse charity from Allah.

Understand that I am NOT a scholar and what I say is ONLY MY Opinion on this based on what the Sheikh just said:
1- Qasr is an easement from Allah, a Gift in a way. So as all other easements it is Not Mandatory, BUT it is recommended based on the Prophet's (PBUH) hadith that tells us that Allah Likes us to make use of his easements as much as he likes us to stick with his obligations. Meaning You should take advantage of it whenever you have the right conditions, but you don't HAVE to.
2- Nothing stops you from performing other Salahs of Sunnah if you wish to. I've traveled with many people in my life and we've always performed Sunnah Salah after we perform the Fard in Qasr. So I would say Yes
      3- See point #1
4- Jummah Prayer is NOT eligible for Qasr since it is already short enough.

I have been having this question in the back of my mind for several years now, and all the scholars that I directed this question seem to revert back to the original opinions of the 4 imams. I thought I was being rebellious towards the rulings since I refused to do Qasr although I am eligible to do so according to the rulings. I continued holding onto my personal opinion albeit in private, realizing that everybody else do not have the same way of thinking as me and I was afraid of them seeing me in a rather negative light.
Alhamdulillah, this lecture has cleared my understandings and help me understand better.
Also, I discussed this issue with a friend just a day before the video was uploaded, and as usual I received a rather negative response from him. Then, coincidentally this video was uploaded and it brought joy to my troubled heart. Thank you Allah for your guidance. Alhamdulillah. Now I know that I am not alone in this.

    Yahya b. Yazid al-Huna'i reported:
I asked Anas b. Malik about shortening of prayer. He said: When the Messenger of' Allah (ﷺ) had covered a distance of three miles or three farsakh (Shu'ba, one of the narrators, had some doubt about it) he observed two rak'ahs.

Salaam, could you pls explain abt this hadith(from sahih Muslim) in your next part where the distance for qasr is clearly mentioned?

Ma sha Allah ! This topic & explanations makes me ask on the Nikah Mut'a which I think eases Muslims hardship when away from their spouses. If prayers could be made legally easy for Muslims what about conjugal rights ? Make no mistake I am Sunni Muslim of Shafii Madh'had. Kindly Sheikh discuss the Nikah Mut'a in detail just as you have discussed the shortening of prayers quoting various Islamic Scholars & authories.

Exactly which school of thought does Shaikh Yasir follow?
Also when such issues are addressed, shouldn't there be those scholars present who follow a particular method to prove themselves and also correct any issues that Shaikh Yasir has misunderstood?
My point being that all 4 imaams have done far more research and had more knowledgeable about this and thus their conclusions, verdicts or fatwas are more qualified due to their superior knowledge and understanding of Islam.

    What about joining d prayer

    • @ILoveMaths07
      @ILoveMaths07 ปีที่แล้ว

Not allowed in the Hanafi madhhab because the imam believes that every prayer has its fixed time. However, you can pray the first prayer at its end time and pray the second prayer at its start time so that it seems like you are combining two prayers, but in fact, you have prayed each prayer in its allotted time.
In the other madhaahib, you can combine Zuhr with Asr and Maghrib with Isha if needed (of course, there are conditions... and joining is not the same as shortening, but both can be done if conditions are met).

Ya’la ibn Umayyah reported: I said to Umar ibn al-Khattab about the verse, “There is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer if you fear persecution from those who disbelieve,” (4:101). I said, “The people are now safe.” Umar said, “I wondered about it as you did, so I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about that. He said: It is charity Allah has given to you, so accept His charity.”

Very interesting. There is only ONE ayah of Sura Nisa that is VERY EASY to understand and act upon. It gives us a facility that if we are travelling and have any kind of fear (like an enemy attack or animal attack)‚ then we can shorten our prayer. Simple. These "sheikhs" have made our lives terribly difficult and dependable. Look at this sheikh how he is complicating a very simple matter. He is overwriting and disregarding the Qur'an by nullifying the 'fear' part of the verse 4:101 completely and necessitating the qasr. These mullahs have no fear of Allah.

This is true if you ignore the ahaadeeth and the practice of the people altogether... Why are you doing that? You should have very good reason to reject all those ahaadeeth and practices.
