One of the themes is "progress" while giving up little things like that isnt progress at all.
So, that is likely intentional.
I like the pessimest optimist comedy duo we have at the start.
The red bar comes from imperfect parries. It slowly regenerates as long as it isn't interrupted by an unblocked hit.

Edit: Regarding talismans, they're not required, so feel free to use them sparingly. You can get by with regular attacks, and leave the talisman button for when you remember you have qi charges.
Ehh, that’s true early on but it feels like your damage is going to be massively gimped against a lot of later bosses if you don’t use it.

@@arseniykorchevskiy1564 Maybe, but by late-game either the mechanic will click or one can just drop the difficulty if it's still that unintuitive to use.
@@melephs_cap in mid to late game there are different ways to use talismans for your choice and it's absolutely required, for early game you can just ignore it, but you're also missing a lot of opportunity to practice while the game was still forgiving for missing them
@@voikalternos I know about the upgrades. I've been playing thoroughly for about 30 hours, and I've never been _required_ to use talismans (though I use them all the time). It's just another form of damage. If Wander doesn't want to use them much he totally could, though late-game it might require adjusting the difficulty.
Ngl I'm trying to find game similar to Ori Series, which is adventure puzzle platform with great sceneries and soundtracks, unlike Hollow Knight and Nine Souls. Do you have any recommendations?

i think the heads where being removed before they dropped the bodies down. that's what the weird
Wait, if it says "flowers and clothes are with the _other useless parts_ to be disposed of", that kinda implies that the body is worthless too? Maybe they just need the head they're poppin' off em? Or maybe it's a translation thing (I'm just assuming this game was translated, I actually don't know that at all)
P.S. I'm four hours in and it's great! The map system is annoying (they tried to go hollow knight with it), to get detailed maps you must first repair the broken robit in your makeshift home :)
P.P.S. notice that if you don't block at the perfect time, you get some "non permanent damage" that slowly re-heals as long as you don't get hit. Kinda like the "posture" system in Sekiro.
P.P.P.S. your "safe zone" in this game is called _The Four Seasons Pavilion._ Which is funny because it makes me feel like I'm at the hotel of the same name 😂
its the opposite, the majority of body is what they use in their "guards". Head is probably mostly useless. Some other parts might be too.
@@user-25352 Nope for the guards the whole person is turned into one. The heads are being harvested for something you find out about later in.
@@mysterym6757 yes I did find it out soon after writing the comment. But not sure if indeed all of body is turned into guards; since in that case what are "other useless parts"
You do see the limbs being removed from the torsos in the background, and the various containers are carrying preserved torsos.
It's said that they harvest apeman brains for something. Maybe biocomputers?
I got the game last week and I love it, especially the parry system. In Hollow Knight, the thing that I really struggled with was to avoid being hit and the boss walking into you and taking your life. There's nothing like this here, I can run through enemies, can parry attacks coming my way and be the badass I never was in Hollow Knight. Instead of running like a headless chicken, I can now face an enemy, I turn into a taichi master! Just beat Goumang without dying even once, nothing cooler than blocking her minion's attack and then slapping the talisman on her.
I hope to see more of this game from you 🖤 I really like it

Ah yes, I got the feeling there was some AI forced "ascension" going on. Like in some old movies. Though, "the flying throne" sounded more like it would make a cartoonish sproing sound and just yeet them to the moooooon.

I'm still trying to understand what they mean by Taopunk and how it's characterized...
They basically say it's a portmanteau of taoist and cyberpunk. So both traditional, historical taoist elements and dystopian high-tech elements.
Taoist mysticism meets cybernetics and corporate atrocities
Thoguh to be honest spirituality and technology get an interesting focus, as Yi is almost dogmatic in his insistence there is a scientific reason for everything (despite all his “tech” being almost indistinguishable from mysticism) while his sister is very much on the spirituality side of things. Likewise, much of the game is focused on both the abuse of tech and the abuse of mysticism. It’s still ealry days but I reckon it has a lot to say about everything

Review? Seems mixed some say masterpiece some say bad some say almost masterpiece?!
Steam reviews are at 90% positive... Usually if the game is "bad" it doesn't sit that high.
It would need some polish to be a masterpiece, but IMO it's simply really good.
@@crisbercutov7405 Thats good news!! The demo was great so if the entire game is like that then it should easily be an 8 minumum..I got a few others games to buy before but maybe wait for the summer steam sale
My biggest issue with the game are long loading times, and there's a bunch of almost useless upgrades that you need to unlock to get to the few good ones. ALSO, the environments feel kind of copied and pasted..I'm 7 hours in and I've barely just got to a different looking area. Besides that, I'm having a blast! The combat is very satisfying. If you liked sekiro, you'll definitely like this!
@@cooldolphiin To add to that, I have the game on an nvme and never noticed the loading screens. But once I read about that issue, I did notice that they indeed do occur often, thus I'd suggest playing the game from an SSD.

Almost unwatchable with the ads every 2 minutes
I don't think they messed with the first area since the demo, so it's easy to say the game gets very good, very fast.
The first area is kind of lame with the endless red warriors and plain level design.
