    I am a teacher in USA'; met my husband online.He is from England and has an art degree. We absolutely LOVE watching you paint and travel the the canals! We are going to travel back there next summer to narrow boat. I would love to purchase one! Thanks so much for your lovely vlogs and the music you play on them. How relaxing for this very busy teacher! Not kidding, I fall asleep watching your travels-I mean this in a good way! You are both lovely and your cats are just lovely!

    aboard to experience your life on a narrowboat.
    It is interesting watching all your VLOG’s on life on a narrowboat, it
    is now something I have on my bucket list to do. It is interesting to see the way you all
    start off your VLOG’s.

    Tixell wide when we came through we were hit with horizontal rain ! !

    Yes the rich land owner did not want a basic canal across his land so an artificial lake was created.

  • @paulfranklin8636
    @paulfranklin8636 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've always understood Tixall wide was built because the owner of Tixall House was objecting to the canal going through his land. It was after all the motorway of the time. So to placate him they built him a lake (with a canal going through it)

  • @TheBoatingAdventure
    @TheBoatingAdventure 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Be good to see this canal to the end, I've been following Phil on Narrow boat Journeys and it looks a fab place which is crying out for an 18ft Cabin Cruiser to come along, it could do a dance in the Tixall Wide. But sadly at the moment it is off to Sileby for anti fouling. Cheers and thanks.

    Sir Edward Aston of Tixal is my 12th great grandfather. He was High Sheriff .. three different times during the reign of Henry VIII and twice during the reign of Philip and Mary. The 16th century 3-storey gatehouse of the now-demolished Tixall Hall, was built by my Aston family. A free chapel has existed in Tixall since the 12th Century but the present church was built in 1848 by the Hon. John Chetwynd Talbot [my 8th cousin]. He was the son of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot, 2nd Earl Talbot.

      @@TheNarrowboatExperience you need to take the River Severn and the Severn is navigable between Stourport and Sharpness - a distance of 50 nautical miles. The navigable route avoids the dangerous stretch of the river below Gloucester by using the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. And Sharpness is across the bay from Newport.

    >^, ,^< Sure you probably already heard this, but just in case you have not. No matter how tiny the shadow on your solar panel is, much much more power is lost than you think as far as according to the shadow's size. When a penel is evenly exposed to teh sun's photons (light) the electrons are forced to go out and do some work for you before returning to the solar panel. When even a small shadow is on the panel this dark spot provids a area where the free/homesick electrons can return home without doing any work for you. So try always root your rope so it lay next to the panel and does not create any dark spot on your PV panel's face since even small shadows are shortcuts back home for electrons....
