You can actually see all of the movie 'To Kill A Mockingbird' on the little tv. The whole thing.

@@CharonsNightmare If I remember right, it was because they wanted to show the xbox new technology and video compression for dvd, the fact the movies could still fit on the DVD at the size and still have space for the game.Also included is the film The Man with the Golden Arm, a full episode of Flash Gordon, the film The Street Fighter with Sonny Chiba, and cartoon shorts of Popeye and Gabby
You really really should Full LP this with da boys. There are so many cool moments, side quests and other shit that no other games did. You'll love it the more you play it.
Seeing his reaction to Hell would be great. That's the most surreal stuff I've seen in a game.

Honestly I think the first darkness was better than the second. just the general atmosphere and all of the side quests made it feel like Human Revolution almost

There is a second one that went more actiony. I would love a third one, but I don't think it's going to happen.

A full LP would be dope. There’s so much emotional stuff in this game, besides all the badass edgelord stuff.
God this was such a great game, the atmosphere was amazing and story was great, I had such a great time playing this game. I really hope there’s a third one is made in the same style as this game one day.
Favourite thing about this game is how the guitars and shit come in when you bring The Darkness out.

I forgot just how fucking good this game is. Legitimately up there as one of my favorite single player FPS games.
It's great, i wish people showed it more love. I loved having to take the subway and look out for street signs to get around the city. Especially when finding Jenny's place
Full LP! Full LP! It's not a super long game and I think you'd legitimately enjoy it. This game is super underrated. Any exposure it can get would be appreciated.
I know this is two years old, but I was ecstatic to see this game was backwards comparable. Now we need the fear franchise!
Maybe play one of the Riddick games, another Starbreeze classic.
God this brings back memories,... I remember playing this game on my bro's 360. I thought it was such a cool game in terms of atmosphere and gunplay. I also loved all the cool little touches like when you ran out of ammo on a pistol you were holding, Jackie would flip it in his hands and use it as a melee weapon and pistol-whip enemies. I love how the HUD in the pause menu and main menu is casting shadows onto the tentacles in the background too.
It's so crazy how ambitious a lot of games from 2007 and 2008 were. If only we could get more games like that with today's graphics.
Oh man, I remember watching my friend play this game and we were so blown away by the televisions that we just stopped and watched the entire black and white short film. We'd never seen that level of unnecessary functionality in a video game before. Good memories. Thanks for reminding me of that.
I actually have a really sweet nostalgia for this game. I would go over to my best friend Dylan's house every day after school and I'd watch him play The Darkness and we'd listen to A7X's "City of Evil" album and just kind of relish in our edginess. We were two teens in Brooklyn who thought Jackie was the most badass character. This game, perfect dark zero, halo 2, cod 3, dead rising, and crackdown were such amazing titles for their time.
This game looks like The Chronicles of Riddick games. Damn shame it never got released on PC and I missed out on playing it, since I love the Riddick games.

the darkness is carried through seed and egg so like, upon conception, the offspring gets the darkness but the father dies since it leaves his body.
so jacky has had the powers but they don't really...activate til age 21, it's one of the few drawbacks of the darkness.

Have good memories of the Darkness. I remember after I picked up my PS3 just a few weeks before MGS4 came out, I wanted some cheap games to hold me over until it came out, and so I picked up The Darkness for, I dunno, probably $15 at the time. Was solid as hell, glad I decided to take a chance on it.

I'd say the comics are pretty good, and worth checking out. Top Cow has put out some collected editions of the classic run, and there are a couple of reboot series that don't really live up to the originals. I always kind of preferred The Darkness to Spawn, but that was just me. If nothing else, check out Garth Ennis' run on it.

I loved this game. Never got around to playing the 2nd one. I loved all the monologues for the load times. You know what game is like this but better tho? Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Has the Zaibatsu played that yet?

The Darkness games needs to come back as a collection or remaster without losing what makes them special.
I'm watching this late. And I hope Matt got around to reading The Darkness from the beginning. Garth Ennis is some of the best comic book writers to come out of Britain.

Aww man, I was hoping he would get to the first death moment. Also, I played this game as an angsty teen and man! Everything with Jenny is such an emotional rollercoaster, really fantastic game

Matt, if you play this more, if you slowly move the analog stick you can creep around while talking to npcs, it's fun
I always thought this game was named Darksiders, which... got really confusing when darksiders 3 came out.

Oh man, what fond memories i have for this. They actually have the whole movie "to kill a mockinbird" in this game and you can watch it on the tvs in the subway (i know that because i watched it this way, jep all the 90 minutes or so)

Hey, Matt, you should play more Starbreeze and play Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.
A lot of The Darkness's style and mechanics and flare are inherited from that, and it's probably the best Riddick thing ever made - barring *possibly* the original Pitch Black.
I think Top Cow is still making Witchblade comics
I haven't played this game in years.
The world felt so lived in, and the interaction was menial but fun. I wish more games followed this ethos.
The music in this game is so fucking good.
Love how both this & *Butcher Bay* look like Blood Relatives, considering Starbreeze developed both of them. Two All-Time Great Classics.
This game is so amazing man, I highly recommend playing the whole thing, one of my favorite 360 games and favorite games in general

Was so lucky to get this game, i really wish the second one had the only the gameplay change but not the style or or the voice actor, the single darkling was a neat idea but I like having all the others a bit more imo.

The first time I ever heard sevendust was on a tv in the subway in this game.
I remember when I played this I just sat and watched entire cartoons on an in game tv while eating ellios pizza. Fucking loved this game.

Geo Kasshu I remember being really excited when this game came out, partially because it’s still rare even today to see American comic book games that aren’t “big two” (DC and Marvel). More publishers need a shot at making their own big comic book franchises.

I liked the sequel but it wasn't a patch on the first. Despite the bloom and the jank the first was such a great game that, had the second be built in the same vein would have been incredible.
