    I doubt that Saucony will be able to resist that look you gave them for long 😉

      Let’s hope they can’t… it will be amazing to have them on board in 2024.. some amazing shoes on the way from Saucony

    This is an excellent and helpful review, which is more than you can say for most online, particularly the very sensible comments on the depth of the outsole rubber which are rarely if ever made in other reviews. Thank you.

      Genuinely, my pleasure and that you for those kind words.

    The only problem I see with this shoe is the lacing system. Doesn't look very durable. Otherwise it looks like a good upgrade over the 16.

      Fully agreed and that’s the weakness I called out as well

    This is a well done review and keeps my interest. I am an avid walker and walk very briskly close to 40 miles a week. I have been wearing NB 1080 in wide over the years and currently have version 11. Haven’t tried versions 12 or 13. Version 13 sounds a bit soft, unstable , with poor durability for the price. The Ride 17 actually sounds close to the 1080 v11. What is your opinion about the Ride 17 for distance walking?

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it would be a great show for walking. One thing I’d ask, because i genuinely don’t know but does stability come into question even for walking? Because I think New Balance 1080 v13 would also be good. But when I consider the prices… then yes I would go with the Ride 17.

      I tried Hoka Bondi several years ago and walked around in my house. I felt like I was walking on stilts, so I have avoided “fat” shoes. A few reviews on the 1080 v13 say that they are unstable and mention turning an ankle or the possibility of injury because of less stability. I am 71 but feel that I am pretty strong but I don’t want to invite trouble. It’s hard to discern some of the reviews on this issue. The v13 sounds like a great shoe that I definitely want to try on, especially since I am accustomed to New Balance. Thank you for your thoughts, very helpful.

    Great video, that sounds like a good shoe, especially at that price, Saucony needs to get on board the Aubrey Running train!

    Very nice as usual Aubrey! That colorway is great too, just enogh color but not to much for a black shoe. I usually prefer white or color but this one is nice!!

    TPE foam is way better than EVA. This seems like a very good shoe 👍

    Was there any breathability issues under the ball of the foot or hotspots? I have the Triumph 22 and noticed it got pretty hot but that shoe is heavier and has suboptimal breathability.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No issues that I noticed at the distances I used this shoe for. That being said, I have now been running super long runs and maybe that would be a different story

      @@AubreyRunning Just picked up the Guide 17 and its perfect for what I'm looking for, its soft but not a pillow. My running store gets the endorphin speed 4 tomorrow so I'm excited to try that. I tried the Speed 16 and it was good but not my favorite.

    Weight matters for me to a point. My Deviate Nitro 2's don't feel too heavy compared to the Hyperion Max despite about an ounce difference. However, the Nimbus 25 and More v4 feel really heavy because I'm a skinny guy and I'm not strong enough to turn over my feet quickly in those shoes. You may have a different cadence and a different cutoff for when a shoe affects your gait.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think weight is definitely a key factor! I think it’s something that contributes to a runner’s experience for sure but I feel like TH-cam reviewers get lazy and just say a shoe is bad if it’s heavier than its earlier version without considering why.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, very much prefer this shoe because of the midsole

  • @moyolenovo3914

    I am probably going to buy 17. Tried to buy 15 and 16 ten times because everyone says they are great, but each time I put them on and try to run a couple of steps I immediately think this was a bad idea. And I like my Triumph 20 alot. Best of all shoes. At the same time when I saw a new Triumph 22 I thought it looks like chunky walking and cheap shoes from 90th with ugly upper and midsole. But I really like the look and specs of ride 17 with power run +.))

      There are some major changes coming from the brand in the triumph series so watch out for that too.

    Great video, Aubrey! Curious your thoughts between this and the Nike Vomero 17? These seem to coexist in that same “more premium” daily trainer category.
