Wow I’d be able to bring my golf cart along! Plus be able to get it anywhere at anytime I like! With a sweet little travel trailer along. I believe that this setup is just the ticket for any of the mid-sized Pickups out there, as long as you get one with the Factory Tow Package! As far as a half ton? Sure any one with the basic standard engine could with no problem!
That little toy hauler is a really smart unit but the fold-down ramp at the back seems really steep to be able to get a motorcycle up in there. You didn't mention how much weight the ramp could take
I have the Forest River Ozark Light 1700th toy hauler; which is a small toy hauler. We like it a lot. Tow with a F150 with the small V8 in it, would not want to tow it up big hills with the small V8. We also have a Queen bed in the front. Check it out... about 3500lb and 480lb hitch weight
also put models in description or title.... makes finding videos about a specific model easier, and allows quickier searching to find the price of 22k.
Those are nice and all, but I am sure everyone else like me would love to know the prices of these trailers. Any reason you didn't want to give pricing???
Trim it down to 12 ft long, lower It To The Ground as far as possible, put a clamshell rear hatch that serves as a ramp , porch and shade roof. Eliminate the bathroom. You know have the perfect Harley hauler. People that go to Sturgis stay in campgrounds that have bathrooms. Make it lightweight enough so you don't have to have a specialized vehicle to pull it. you now have the blueprint for the trailer I designed 15 years ago
Now you’re speaking my language I have a 1990 Chevy LS swap that I want something low to put a dirtbike and spend a few years in the mountains chasing weather and the wife is 100% in. I also thought of a clam shell back with rap capabilities and outdoor kitchen let me know what you know ha ha
I'm sure it'd be fine as long as you take it nice and slow so it doesn't bounce around. Any camper if you bounce it around too much you wont have anything left in the cabinets anyway lol.
Nice but to long I just use 20' total length hitch ball to rear. Pull with 8' long bed with 4 door truck. Just enough for most places parking and living off grid and using two parking spaces when needed.
3:47 I see on the yellow sticker that the cargo capacity is based upon with fresh water tank FULL. (And waste empty.) Is that the case with all cargo capacities?? I always assumed fresh water carried took away from capacity.
Exactly....even when you configure it with the table. It gets wider but its still to short for us taller 6 -4 to 6- 5 guys. Id buy this if it wasn't so short!!
First few minutes of this video makes my Samsung soundbar resonate, then second half is fine. I noticed a few of your other videos do the same sometimes.
I wish you would still give prices like you used to do. That made it very interesting, and comparable to other units. It's a great review, and very informative, but it's really missing that 1 important piece of info to know if it's a good value or not.
While I agree, just think about when this video is 5 years old and someone watches it for the first time the price is going to change. It's also going to depend where you live and what dealer(s) are in your area and what discounts they're going to offer. He could give the MSRP sure, but from what I've noticed with campers is the MSRP is always like 20-40% higher than the sale price so it's not even an accurate number. Your best bet is to call a dealer and just ask them or look it up on a Forum and ask what others have paid for it, if you're interested in the floor plan and quality of the product.
A highlander would be a little iffy. I work for Toyota and the brand new ones are only rated for 5,000 pounds with the v6. So over 4,000 you'll be pushing it on what it can haul and that's if you're on flat roads. If you're driving in the mountains then by by transmission.
Another excellent video! A question for you...in your opinion, what would you say is a good manageable trailer weight for a 3/4 ton diesel, such as a Ford F-250 4x4? I ask because I have one and would like to know what a good, ballpark, safe towing weight should be!
1st one : Nice for smaller SUV and possibly a Jeep. Curious what the tongue weight is with a heavy 4x4 ATV in the rear. Being a single axle seems like it might be light up front. Oh maybe to heavy for small SUV and Jeep.
Many or most midsize SUVs I think could tow this. . In fact anything w/ a 6000lb towing capacity .. meaning.. a Grand Cherokee 2004 & newer regardless of powertrain will be able to tow this. .
Thanks for sharing all these different Rockwood GoPro trailers JD. So far though my favorite was the RiverStone, legacy 5th wheel. Appreciate all you do JD.
i know i've already watched this video and commented, but i was wondering BTBRV if you could find something like a Hyperlite htl from 2009 that weighs around 1100 pounds that i could tow with a quarter ton truck like my 2001 ranger with a 3.0 L v6
Great stuff. I was thinking of modding a 1/4 tun with a custom 5th weel 15-18ft toy hauler. I want to travel far and easy hauling the trailer with a snowmabel. I'm good at welding, carpentry, pluming, electric and disinging. I live in ca and want to go to Canada. Is this completely unposabule ?
Great design but not for me I need something I can have a 4 wheeler in there while I can still sleep. I'm a traveling welder so can't use the wheeler that much and need something with a shower to wash off especially the mud
You say be sure to use the right distribution set up, what do you mean by that? Is that only one option, are there multiple options, can make a video going in to much more detail? Thank you. Great channel
This first trailer has to be one of the most practical trailers I have ever seen. Period.
Oh yeah Id deffinatelly use this because I have alot of toys Id wish to be able to haul around
It would be great if you added the dimensions of the cargo area so people would know what they could store in the hauler!
but that makes sense....
@@cpamfmdj maybe it's on the website
Wish u would of folded up those seats and gave more information on what can fit on that toy hauler
Motorcycle or a 4 wheeler
J Day me too
Me three
I’d like something that could handle 2 bikes on center stands.
How many inches wide is the toy hauler door?
Wow I’d be able to bring my golf cart along! Plus be able to get it anywhere at anytime I like! With a sweet little travel trailer along. 4:15 "Hot water heater" is like the ATM Machine and the VIN Number.
Does it have tie down anchors for said toys? Like four eyelets to strap down a quad or dirt bike?

This thing cost 22k??!!!
That toy hauler is awesome!
My daughters Barbie Jeep will fit perfect.
My two Husqvarna as will fit perfect 250 + 500
They’d like small truck towable. Most modern 1/2 tons are close to double that.
Tow this with a small ranger or Tacoma.
This guy seems to think you should only tow 60% of max towing capacity. All his videos seem to be like that.
REALLY enjoy you bringing us all the different types of RV's and floor plans.
Those are nice and all, but I am sure everyone else like me would love to know the prices of these trailers.
Any reason you didn't want to give pricing???
Because price depends on the market and who they think you are.
@@flyonawall6521 So the scam is on a case by case basis.
They don't give price because they want to rape in person. If they do give an MSRP then they rape with fees.
The angle of entry for my Harley looks a bit short and steep. Has anyone loaded a large touring motorcycle on this?
My toys would be Disaster Rescue equipment! This is sweet! Thanks for share
Old Big wouldn’t tow that with less than about an F750.
No a class a deul wheels semi truck minimum
7:20 this is btw one of my favourite series of smaller trailers
Good advice on the towing hook ups, a lot of new people looking , 👍
JD, As always another great video full of info. BTW, down here in corpus vacationing with the grandkids,..... Nice but hot!
That's the main knock I have on the Geo pro is the width. 8.5 width is the only way to go.
I need one lower to the ground to haul my Harley. Got any built like that?
Look like good Units,,,good Video,,,😎

what was the model of the first trailer, the main one you showed ?
That's cute for tiny little people. 🤩
A 4 wheeler or off road bike might be ok. But not for a street bike. Rear door looks to steep. The frame on a street bike is low.
@@armslength2618 ok. Just seemed to me.
Look great, but how durable are they on rough roads, like logging roads....
I'm sure it'd be fine as long as you take it nice and slow so it doesn't bounce around. Any camper if you bounce it around too much you wont have anything left in the cabinets anyway lol.
Is any trailer specifically built for rough roads?
@@MyGoogleTH-cam Just Australian ones. 😁
@@jimh.412 Those are amazing trailers! And the price....whew!

Attempting to clean myself in the same stall everyone uses the bathroom in. Sounds like a real treat.
That's why it's only for you and your girlfriend man
Then don’t get a wet bath..!
Everyone?!? What kind of camping are YOU doing?!?
Wonder if it would fit a Polaris ranger in it?
Could always throw my bike in my truck and haul this too but I need this
Third one is my favorite

Perfect for bike rallys..
Will a 50 inch Rzr fit? Can you mount a roof top tent on it?
The Murphy bed is only a Full 54" x 74', not a Queen. I guess they don't build them for taller people.
Exactly....even when you configure it with the table. It gets wider but its still to short for us taller 6 -4 to 6- 5 guys. Id buy this if it wasn't so short!!
Love large RVs but something about the tiny ones get my attention. Love to see what companies do with limited space.
Love the passion you have to tech and give advice on travel trailer, thank you for your time. Love your channel 🇺🇸😎👍🏾
how big is the garage?
Nice job feller
Great work as usual. I think you should include tank capacity on these smaller units since they're more likely to be used for boondocking.
Do they make a bit bigger unit? Love the toy haulers but they are just to much $$$. they should be at least 30% cheaper than a standard bumper pull
I need this in my life . It’s practically perfect ( oven delete fir me ). Thanks for showing
First few minutes of this video makes my Samsung soundbar resonate, then second half is fine. I noticed a few of your other videos do the same sometimes.
does anyone make a more "addams family" style camper ?
The 18' what fits? I have 2 quads
Can a side by side fit in there ?

I'd love to see that keyless entry system tested by The Lock Picking Lawyer. Most new designs are Severely Flawed. How do we know it's safe?
LPL could open that in less than a minute, regardless of what lock is on the door. Dude is a witch!
Does it really matter? Most keyed trailer locks can be raked or bumped and a crowbar will get you into pretty much any trailer.
I love it!!!!!!! Huge thx for opening the cabinets up...can I tow with a V6 Highlander?
A highlander would be a little iffy. I work for Toyota and the brand new ones are only rated for 5,000 pounds with the v6. So over 4,000 you'll be pushing it on what it can haul and that's if you're on flat roads. If you're driving in the mountains then by by transmission.

The steepness of the ramp makes it not very motorcycle friendly. More as a hybrid for ebikes, dog crates, etc.
Take a drink every time he says toy hauler
Man I cant tow with my old ranger dang it. Got to get 150 going again...
How much does it cost th 18ft. Or smaller
i see FOREST RIVER on the spec stickers. so whats Rockwood? are they just a custom shop?
They are a brand of Forest River. Not custom.
I really like this
Can you put a side by side in it

Nothing like sleeping with a smell of dripping oil from your toy. Lol!
And you can spray some starter fluid or pblaster to make it smell like home.
What is the opening width of back?

Probably taped several in a day then is uploading them slowly but surely
Very nice will a Harley Davidson fit in it
Not bad but doesn't look like I could load the Harley without bottoming out.

What are the prices
Bro I my family lives in Grand Rapids and I live in Boyne City mi with is like a hour or 2 away that is crazy how long you there for
Perfect for a Mountain biker.
Exceptional video as always.
Do you suppose that toy hauler could handle loading and hauling my 800 pound Harley full dresser?
That's what I was wondering but my God that ramp sure is steep.
Stinger45 I would say without a doubt, but that ramp would be one hell of a challenge!
Easily half ton towable??? That's barely over half the tow rating of my Dakota
This dudes idea of 1/2 ton towable is kinda riduculous. A small truck or suv easily handles these
@Kaleb Swager My Nissan Frontier can handle this at it's max Loaded weight.
4530 lb sounds high for torsion axles with 5 stud hubs ..
You should be measuring ceiling height in all your walk throughs.
Damn those are mega cool!
Nice features, but why single axils?
Price point and weight. A 1500 ccc is pretty awesome on the toy hauler. And more than some dual axle trailers
Yep... I like it.
