I have two kinds of Jasmine, 3 kinds of Roses, hibiscus, and about 20 kinds of fruit trees along with vegetables in my yard (pomegranate, lemon, orange, nectarine, apricot, avocado, pear, cherry, persimmon, ... ). I love smelling all the blossoms 🥰🌸

Another idea for Carol's husband is Hermes Bel Ami, or Roja Fetish Pour Homme. I'm 51, wore the OG Polo as a teen, and I've tried many contemporary scents. I have about 10 fragrances, including Baraonda, Grand Soir, Amyris Homme, Jubilation 25, Oud Wood, etc. Bel Ami / Fetish are the ones I'm most drawn to, b/c they're masculine, but work today. To me, they don't smell dated. And, they have a great leather accord.
I may have an answer for Claudia, who asked about a smoky (burned) lavender : "Lavande Ombrée" by "Au Pays de la Fleur d'Oranger". It might please her (i like it a lot). I hope this recommandation will reach her

If you're curious, it's pretty nice. The honey is overwhelming on my skin, not so much tobaco tbh. Very similar to Kilian Black Phantom, about 6 hours on my skin and 12+ on clothes. More bang for your buck $/ml wise.

BUT I got Saint Julep, loved the package, then sprayed on a piece a paper...right away got a huge headache. :( can’t stand it! What am I going to do with this $95.00 bottle of headaches?! 🤣 Worst than that! I tried to smell the little sample they sent, it was A city on Fire... I almost throw up!! 🥲
Many of mine are blind buys. I have been pretty lucky so far, i haven't ended up with any that i hate. Even if i did, i don't think i could stop the practice of blind buying. Maybe i am just a gambler ay heart.

If you like lavender, I would suggest trying Gris Clair, by Serge Lutens. It isn't particularly smoky, per se but it is sort of incensy.
Wearing this one to bed right now :) it is an intense lavender with undercurrent of tonka and incense yep
