Battlefield V is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield V is the sixteenth installment in the Battlefield series. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 20, 2018. Those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of the game were granted early access to the game on November 15, 2018, and Origin Access Premium subscribers on PC received access to the game on November 9, 2018. The game is based on World War II and is a thematic continuation of its World War I based precursor Battlefield 1.
Battlefield V will focus extensively on party-based features and mechanics, scarcity of resources, and removing "abstractions" from game mechanics to increase realism. There will be an expanded focus on player customization through the new Company system, where players will be able to create multiple characters with various cosmetic and weapon options. Cosmetic items, and currency used to purchase others, will be earned by completing in-game objectives.
The game will feature several new multiplayer modes, including the "continuous" campaign mode "Tides of War", "Firestorm", and "Grand Operations". The Grand Operations mode is an expansion of the "Operations" mode introduced in Battlefield 1, which focuses on matches taking place across multiple stages to simulate a campaign from the war. In Grand Operations, each round will have specific objectives, and performance in each stage will influence the next. Games will culminate with a "Final Stand", with players using only a primary weapon with limited ammo, and no respawns. Similarly to Battlefield 1, the game will feature a collection of single-player "war stories" based on aspects of World War II. The game also features a cooperative mode not seen since Battlefield 3 called "Combined Arms", where four players can undertake missions together and features dynamic missions and objectives so missions cannot be played the same way each time. Combined Arms is scheduled to be released after launch. The Battle Royale mode will be built around the franchise's "core pillars of destruction, team play, and vehicles". The name "Firestorm" is derived from a literal storm of fire that engulfs players similar to the popular Battle Royale game mechanic of restricting the play area. Furthermore, this particular game mode is not being developed by EA DICE themselves, but has been outsourced to Criterion Games and features the biggest map created by the franchise to date. It is playable by 64 players, which are divided into up to 16 squads with a focus on team work. Firestorm is scheduled to be released in March 2019. - Wikipedia

@@SilkOCE I played with these two, also a few others State side here in the States. There are some Nasty Ace Dog Fighters for sure in our group. And for the most part now we only run guns no rockets in 1v1 and we respect it if we are challenging others to DF's. Fun stuff for sure!
Complementing good pilots has earned me more friends on this game than I have ever thought possible.
I usually come up against people who fly straight up to try and make me stall but I just pull off wait for them to come down and get straight on their 6

Prior to finding your channel i had bf4 and was a terrible pilot (still am with helicopters) but with a week watching your content and taking your advice, ive recently got into bf5 (luckily it was the psn game of the month) and ive been able to land kills and can actually build strafing techniques, all thanks to you!
Good fights, Silk! You are probably one of the few people who is close to proving me wrong about dogfighting in BFV being bad! Its funny some of these guys trash talk others while actually being that bad at 1v1 lol Thats probably the worst awareness (from them) I have seen in a long time lmao

Hey m8! I've found this video one of your most helpful to date. I'd love to see a compilation of videos of you shaking planes on your six as this is what I struggle with the most, although I know that awareness and good dogfighting skills can help prevent situations like that.

Silk and Verbql are to me the best pilots of BF5.
Verbql is such a good lad too, he "adopted" me on Fjell one day during eralier BFV days because I managed to survive dogfights against him for a couple of passes when I was still pretty new to flying, and taught me the basics & teamed up with me for a while
I've used your settings and I still can't figur out how do you look back so quickly wihtoiut the free look activated? Do I miss something?
Absolutely great feedbacks on head-on passes, energy management, and rear camera sights. I look forward to future dog fights with you.
Two main mistakes that resulted in my disadvantage:
1. Using the rudder in vertical climbing loops wastes energy.
2. Lack of bandit information from rearview gives away advantage and prevents me from defending effectively.
Follow up question:
What is your keybinding setup for simultaneously turning the plane and free looking?
I am using space bar as hard pitch up, q and e for hard roll, a and d for hard yaw; I use the mouse to subtlely pitch and roll.
With Controls > Advanced > Vehicle Control > Decouple Pilot Freelook on, my arrow keys are bound to free look.
This eliminates unwanted roll and pitch when you free look with a mouse.
However, arrow keys are not as smooth, swift, and accurate as you demonstrated.
Glad it helped you and your analysis is spot on.
As for my bindings, I have Q and E for looking left and right and shift to look up (settings vid in description has all my binds). So it looks smooth because I do it fast I guess but it's still using key input.

Forgot to say please do make a video with people who you think can challenge you to the max, that would be super swesome. For me the most amazing thing is the commentary where you exactly know what the opponent should have done and why. You should have trained for a military pilot, you have an amazing awarness and understanding of physics and mechanics of the game.
Wow appreciate the kind comments, it was a career option that I was interested but I'm colorblind and 6'5" so there's no way I'd get far through the selection process. I'm definitely going to get some dogfights against a few guys that I know can make it interesting though.

@@SilkOCE Cool. I was thinking about reinstalling bfv but I don't know what's good anymore. They added a bunch of shit and I'm sure they nerfed anything that used to be good. Are those 8x rockets in the spitfire still good for one strafing tanks? Did they buff the bf109 rockets? What's good anymore in pacific maps?
@@SkySkywalker485 Pacific is now about the 8x rockets. Bf109 is best in euro theatre with the double rockets. Spitfire can't 1 strafe tanks but it's still good

I am relativly new to the game and only a mediocre flyer so I prefer to not even deal with dogfighting since I loose 80% of the time and get AA gunned or fliegered the other 20%
Tbh what works most for me besides flying over friendly AA guns is to just take a bomber and switch to the backseat gunner , alot of ppl seem to refuse to stop their attack even tho they are getting Shot in the face with an lmg
Only excpetion to this obviosly is the mosquito which can 2 or 3 shot me with dat AT cannon before i even get a chanche to switch to the other seat

Like what you said about the rudder, it makes no sense in real life. Using the rudder enables you to make a sharper and coordinated turn in real life.
I think war thunder or DCS would be the best game to test this out :)

what is dogfighting in battlefield ?
Great DF videos. I wish I had some of these tips when I first started out. The Pacific maps are great for DF, I dont like twisted steal as much the tank AA guns are too powerful and completely ruin any DF. I find it really annoying also killing the same guy in an aa who just gets killed and jumps straight in. Like a freaking living zombie and repeats this every 30 seconds for the rest of the game. Dice should tackle this as it makes the gameplay a real bore.
Yeah that's pretty much how it goes. There's always that one guy who AA's the whole game.

In the head-on you are already turning getting a jump start from the start...Not impressed, especially with the added free look and you make a video of it. Second, their pings were over 200. Little details that you did not mention. Having a jump from the start is a death sentence of which you took advantage off every single "df".
They are using free look too. Its even.
Getting a turning head start could actually be a disadvantage in BFV
Plus anyone with DF experience would catch it anyway

@@yeolechief623 It is nowhere even if the other pilot starts turning before the actual headon. Major disadvantage in a 1 v 1 scenario in BF5. Freelook is a little too late at that point because you have not even passed by each other. So again, not impressed. Wings leveled on a headon, then its a good df. Otherwise, the speed and momentum is at the pilot that jumps the headon pass. He said it himself, the physics of this game is about speed and proper use of rudders. He didnt even need to use rudders at the start while maintaining optimal speeds at the start. Its like playing BF3 and one pilot is at 315 and the other is at 345. The 345 is clearly not ready but the DF takes place and the video is made to brag. Bottom line, this was not a proper df headon scenario. This was made purely for content.
Thank god someone actually understands dogfighting here. Plus I don't even get a head start I ran it back. My turn is always after the swoosh
@@SilkOCE Wings are not leveled. It doesn't matter if you "swoosh" before turning. I can "Swooch" pass u while turning in advance... You had a split second advantage while the other pilot had to compensate for the disadvantage. I'd give you props but thats not a proper headon starts. Make another video with a proper df.

I wish the was some "planes only" map in BF 5, in the style of the BF1942 maps Battle of Britain or Battle of the Coral Sea (I think it was called)... I loved those!

Wow this vid just made me realize how bad i am at flying, i don't know anything about using energy and what kinds of maneuvers you should do in what situations. Im trying my best to learn from you silk :)
No worries! I learned through a lot of practice and eventually you just develop a thought process and everything is second nature.
You're right about a lot of things. Definitely need to fly very directly, especially fighting against a freelook user. But if you fly against someone equally skilled, you will keep looping forever at the same angle. Against a freelook user, switching at these times will probably just get you in trouble. Rudder switching is useful if you are flying the same angle as your opponent to try to gain small angles in a neutral against an equally skilled pilot. Hopefully you can get some angles to put pressure on your opponent as just switching willy nilly against a freelooker will just get you in trouble. But if you're flying different angles, you definitely need to make the most direct path to your opponent. Against a freelook user, the only defense is an unpredictable stall or a haimelik defense...keep switching slightly toward your opponent after a swoosh and fly past them in different angles and eventually use the ground in an angle they can't follow. I think using the boost instead of the engine upgrade will probably lose out in a real 1v1. But it works fine in public.
Yeah I agree with most of this but honestly I'm yet to find a freelook user that punishes every piece of interesting flying.
Dice needs to come up with a battlefield degree. You play so many hours, make so many tutorials, kick so much ass... cut to... Silk is a battlefield dreadnaught.

That was satisfying to watch - usually when fighting the ANG guys they'll 3v1 you while camping runways/carriers and talking shit. I'm surprised u got them to 1v1.

Yep it’s annoying. Also annoying when you have a pilot beat so they’ll hover over there buddy on the AA constantly making it near impossible to dog fight them.

I hate the "broken wings, engine etc" system. It steal's your chance to get a good comeback. Once your wing is done the plane ist going out of control. At least on the xb1

Yep that's my issue with it too. Like on that fight were it happened to me, it wasn't even what he was aiming for and he only did 3 damage :/
If someone's behind you oure just fires a lucky rocket it's basicly over. In BF3/BF3 you could just outloop him and keept going. You had the skill to get yourself out of that position ore you got rekt. It seems like in BF5 you just have to keep an eye on the spawn to not get shoot down. Pretty sad tho. Same with tanks

I’m glad you enjoy! I think DCS is a very different game. Less mechanical, played with a joystick, more knowledge dependent. Hard to make that comparison :)
Yea cheveliar did that do ang clan dose that shit and cople clan and i when to private sever and beat them i have df dose guys before and cheviar is prety decent but angle are everything but bf5 mess up the routers technique and that why I don't do so much df and i feal like corsair dofjiter gets stock in the air
