That GR Corolla Rally Concept fit nicely for being the direct factory competitor for the Subaru WRX in ARA, the sort of Rally2 equivalent class. Not to mention the first time we see that Rally concept was in SEMA, an American tuning show and it even had a road test sometime ago.
They’ve really knocked it out of the park with the le maestros DLC, especially with the visual and the car sounds Hard Charges could mean anything really but it does get me thinking. I hope it’s either to complete the set of WRC+ cars (Toyota and Hyundai) or some more 2.0 WRC’s. The S12b Subaru is the one I really want Clio Rally 3 probably should be in your right and yes it would be great to see some sets completed
Did you comment on the right video? 😆 You're right though, they did a really good job with the pack; way better than with the 2024 season update. I was thinking earlier about Hard Chargers and wondering what it could mean. I wonder if the snow in the teaser image has any significance? I'd love to see some more of the 2.0-litre WRC cars in there for sure. There are so many cars they could add, it's almost impossible to make a list!
Two 'custom' NZ rally cars have some of the attributes of the Toyota concepts. The Honda car with mid-engine V6 & rear-wheel drive and the newer shape Corolla with a front engine and rear wheel drive. The Toyota & Honda were 1 & 2 in the Challenge (upgraded historics with sequentials, modern with no FIA homologation etc) Class of the week long 2024 NZ Silver Fern. Both spin the rear wheels on gravel.
Thanks for the very informative video! You just proved the point that also creators who don't have a huge following (yet), can create awesome content! Keep it up! One like and sub for you right here!
I say in a couple years the Corolla should be in rally 1 with the Subaru wrx like in ara wrc needs to change their rules to allow more manufacturers like the good old early 2000s wrc!
@@maximumattackrallyingthe Celica's development is pretty much in the "If you know you know" kind of territory since every time someone asked Akio Toyoda or any person from Toyota about the Celica the answer will be -at minimum- a hush hush with a big smile. Oh they definitely are building a new gen Celica. Some latest rumours do suggest that the MR2 & Celica will be merged into one so we might see a mid-engine car with Celica brand rather than an MR2.
As a former AW11 owner of 19 years, a mid-engine GR Corolla would be absolute perfection! The Rally Concept looks wonderful! I'm really curious what the actual differences are from a standard GR Corolla are.
I haven't seen much info about the Corolla. I heard it uses the running gear from a Yaris Rally2, which would mean a modified G16E, Sadev 5-speed sequential transmission, and limited-slip front and rear differentials. The suspension is bespoke I guess but, if it's Rally2-based (which the wheels suggest), then it won't use anything from the road car. It would be interesting to see how much the body shell has been modified for sure
It’s okay to be excited for an MR2 vers.4 - actually if we all yell for it, we shall receive. Be all noob and timid and get into a 70-month finance for a slushbox econocar with some red plastic bits and a bunch of black bits, instead of the plastichrome because that signifies standard(!), no one worthwhile will even notice. Let’s please put on some big person pants and only buy what you really want. Wait, you want a new MR2 but Doesn’t exist? Then the wussies helming the legacies will pay marketing to say the sad news for them that “the market just isn’t there…” BS and data now shows it.
Amazing to see the Corolla back in the rally spotlight

Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! Hopefully I can keep growing the channel, and your support means a lot 🙏
❤
The M concept sounds just like my Clio V6 !
The Corolla Rally concept looks anything but. Pretty much ready to go duke it out in Rally2. Surprised that it looks better than the Yaris Rally2

Any news on the new celica?
I haven't seen anything new recently. If they do a Celica and an MR2, I'd be pretty much ready to marry the boss of Toyota 😂

Hope toyota will be the world champion again in 2025.
Id bet that Corrolla will go to America to go against Subarus domanance over there.
mabey, we will see the G20E in 2027 regulation
Maybe! Going back to 2.0-litre engines would be cool, but I could see other manufacturers putting up a fight
