When I was a kid, my stepfather (who grew up in NY city and hated them), put a fake (but really cute) fur mouse in my Christmas stocking as a joke, thinking it would scare me. I, of course, fell in love with it, thus starting a family tradition of him getting me cute little mice gifts everywhere he went on trips! Dear Rachel - every single one of your videos improves my mental health. You are my go to comfort TH-camr. The past three years have been the worst of my life in so many ways. When I am feeling down or anxious, when my health won't let me do anything else, or when I just need something familiar playing in the background, I come back to your channel over and over again. I have lost track of how often I've watched some of your videos. Your openness and honesty about your own mental health helps me feel not so alone, and your sometimes chaotic creative processes help me feel encouraged when my own creative projects seem to go off the rails (almost always). Thank you for putting your whole self into your craft, and for letting us share the adventure with you. 💙💙💙
i made a little crochet mouse a couple years ago who is my little bff and that i am continually making costumes for (including historical costumes) so this video is highly relatable to me in a way that i’m sure rachel was not expecting

SO CUTE!!! Now can you make him a loyal steed? I think a large squirrel or small raccoon would be about the right size... Forget all other projects on the board - we need an army of mice knights! Cheers!
He's giving me a Bartholomew or Cornelius vibe, but could easily see him being some nature-y name like Barley, Thistle or Briar. Whatever he ends up being named he's the cutest thing I've ever seen and I would like 100
I like it when Rachel is happy when she makes things. The jokes and puns are hilarious. Plus Rachel's happiness is contagious and I can't stop smiling. My cheeks hurts from smiling through the entire video and I don't mind the slightest.🥰🥰

The fact you don't know Redwall, I'm so jealous you get to discover this series fresh. The books are great and there's an animated series from the 90s. That show in literally my childhood. I hear the opening in my head as I write this! :D
Your comment about needing to surround yourself with these felted creatures for some reason reminded me of Beavers. They will block up a whole river if they can hear trickling because they think they have a leak in their house, only it's more of a storage area for their food so they're actually going "Oh no my fridge!" And that is the sort of animal whimsicalness and real world problems I think we can all relate to
This entire episode was a masterpiece of cuteness. Like, I actually cried tears multiple times because he's so cute. I absolutely participated in booping the snoot. This is absolutely my favourite thing you have ever, ever done. What a gift. Thank you.
Redwall was basically my whole childhood because I read every one of those books (and friend, there are A LOT of them), so this is hitting me right in the feels! I was actually recently thinking about re-reading them since I basically haven't read any since like middle school, so this is my sign that now I must! Love this little guy, he turned out soooo cute.

I think that you should sell prints of some of the lovely little drawings from your sketch book. They are charming! Also, “I’ve pulled out some really stellar ones lately, and I’ve only gotten frustrated sighs” : That’s what she said!
This little guy is SO heckn' CUTE! I hope you enjoy the Redwall books! I grew up reading them and they are sooooo good. I would also recommend looking up the audio books! The ones that were made were narrated by the author himself along with a full cast.
hear hear! I read Redwall in 6th grade. my mom was intrigued and read it. and then my grandma read it. I had to tell my school librarian why I had the book for a month. 😁
It's Martin the Warrior!! Rachel, I am surprised you hadn't heard about the Redwall series, being the fantasy nerd that you are! You are going to absolutely ADORE it! It was my favorite series growing up and those books inspired literally my whole life - from my art to my own writing. Please, please, please tell us when you've started reading them (there's like 20+ books); would love to hear what you think!
I watched this video 15% Rachel is cool, 85% because I needed to see a little felted Martin. Rachel, can I suggest a badger next? Or, ooooh, a squirrel archer.
Rachel's never read Redwall? There are so many things that I feel she'd fall in love with - from the moles and their accents to the descriptions of the feasts, or just the general adventures and settings? Also, little Sir is absolutely adorable and he absolutely needs companions.
There was a book in the 80s called “The Brambly Hedge Pattern Book” that featured sewn mice like yours. He’s adorable! I am also a long time maker of mice.
This lovely mouse warrior also reminds me of the Kate Dicamillo book, "The Tale of Despereaux" which I highly recommend. It's another young reader book that my kids loved when they were little. We actually listened to it on audio book on a road trip and it kept them engaged for the many hours in the car. Check it out if you haven't read it yet. the Redial series was also super popular with my kids, I hope you enjoy reading those!
Omg. I know you can’t here me and this already happened, but as a needle felter, I’m screaming, “you can wrap the wire with felt sheets or piece of old sweater or something!!” Makes it easier and faster. Also, you can use 2 cat brushes to blend color evenly. But as I type and watch, I’m like, “ok. You got there, and it’s dang adorable!” Maybe I should follow your lead. Lol. So so cute!
I love him. Redwall was my whole childhood 🥺If you read them, I highly recommend the audiobooks, Brian Jacques narrates them (with a full cast) and he is wonderful.
Oh I looooooved those books and all of Brian Jaques novels. I rarely run into people who were also obsessed with them or know what they are. I LOVED how he described all the food in those books. My favourite character was definitely Basil Stag Hare
This was so cute I cried. Actually cried during the reveal. I cannot believe how multitalented you are. This is incredible and made me feel better about life.
Ditto that multi-talentedness, Beth!! and hmmmm.... if she keeps wearing cover uppy GORGEOUS pieces, me as the waayyy older person I am, will suspect mamahood!🤔 [in a whisper: which would be sooo cool] !! Better world! ....js

But I promise I'm not THAT old person.
I feel your pain with the "that's what she said joke," Rachel--I made a GREAT one the other day, no laughter 😭 (re-watching Buffy with a friend, and while Buffy and Angel were fighting he said "Come on! Don't get soft on me now!" to which I, of course, responded with "That's what *she* said!" 😂😂😂 My friend did not laugh, and I was crushed, lol)
There is a graphic novel series called "Mousegard" basically mouse nights in a very lotr feeling world. I think you would love it, very beautifully drawn and written.
I love that series! my drawing professor knew the artist, the guy designs 3D architecture models to take pictures of at different angles just so he has references for his art!

He's ADORABLE!! 🐀You should make a maiden!! 🐁You know, he's the knight in shining armor!! Love all your videos! Your sense of humor is awesome! 🐭🐀🐁
Hey ❤️ congratulations 🎉 you have been selected randomly among my shortlisted giveaway winners kindly send a text on telegram with the name above to claim your prize🎊🎁
I love that, "Time to make some mouse armour" is a phrase that entered my life today.
He looks so noble and determined. He’s wonderful! ❤️
I think that you should sell prints of some of the lovely little drawings from your sketch book. They are charming! Also, “I’ve pulled out some really stellar ones lately, and I’ve only gotten frustrated sighs” : That’s what she said!
A fabulous Patreon idea!
YUS! KIDS BOOK YUS!!!🥰
_aggressively booping the lil snoUT_ I LOVE HIM
This was equally good for my mental health to watch this adorable transformation
I love this so much wtf- this aesthetic is like forest witch and her wife making carrot soup and dressing mice and deer in little costumes
He is SO much cuter than I can handle, I too would die for this little knight mouse
An absolutely precious little princeling! I think your extra seretonin drifted over on a cloud to these shores 🥺
I also loved the TV series as a child! Was totally obsessed with it!
Oh yes, Redwall! One of my favourite TV shows
It's Martin the Warrior!!
Oh my gosh, THANK YOU for saying it, I came here to shriek the same thing! This is such a perfect representation of Martin.
I watched this video 15% Rachel is cool, 85% because I needed to see a little felted Martin.
Rachel, can I suggest a badger next? Or, ooooh, a squirrel archer.
My precise first thought!
Also came to shriek from my childhood about Martin! It him!
Yes! Redwall inspired my love of fantasy. I blame them for my lifetime of nerddom :D Please read them, Rachel, and make a video of your reactions!
Rachel's never read Redwall? There are so many things that I feel she'd fall in love with - from the moles and their accents to the descriptions of the feasts, or just the general adventures and settings?
Also, little Sir is absolutely adorable and he absolutely needs companions.
I always wanted to be Skipper of Otters. Now I need to reread Redwall...
Thought this was Martin the Warrior
I haven't either!
You need to make him a damsel mouse right now so he has a mouse friend to go on adventures with!! A princess mouse omg
I've been listening to the Chronicles of Narnia the last couple months and my mind went straight to Reepicheep. So cute!
So flipping adorable, I would love to see a mage next. Making a staff with a little hat! Just so adorable!
this literally created a week’s worth of serotonin for me 😭 thank you and your little mouse knight son for your service🤍
He is so beautiful. Thank you for gracing us with his presence.
There was a book in the 80s called “The Brambly Hedge Pattern Book” that featured sewn mice like yours. He’s adorable! I am also a long time maker of mice.
I love Brambly Hedge, I may need to find the book ❤️
Oh no, I absolutely need to find this book now!
I LOVE Brambley Hedge. I had no idea there was a pattern book - thank you!
He reminds me of Despereaux from The Tale of Despereaux. It feels like it fits so well too
OMG I loved Despereaux 🥺
Me, too! ❤
Thank you for letting us boop the snoot. It made me really happy :D
Is it weird that I feel proud of how he turned out? He’s so cool!! Rachel I’m so proud of you!!!
This little guy is the cutest mouse ever! He's the mental health boost we all needed this week. Thank you Rachel!
Lol.
So so cute!
Absolutely adorable... so glad you now have him in your life . May he guard your days and nights against all evil thoughts and dreams....
Rachel: "If I go through this whole project without stabbing myself I'll be very impressed"
Us: So will we 😄Betting commences.
I love him. Redwall was my whole childhood 🥺If you read them, I highly recommend the audiobooks, Brian Jacques narrates them (with a full cast) and he is wonderful.
**Runs to spend my audible credit 👀
yes! best audiobooks to listen to while sewing/crafting!
The BEST!
Oh I looooooved those books and all of Brian Jaques novels. I rarely run into people who were also obsessed with them or know what they are. I LOVED how he described all the food in those books. My favourite character was definitely Basil Stag Hare
MY PEOPLE!!
Better world! ....js
Yeah you older folks have zero decency about spreading unwanted rumors about potential pregnancies. When will yall learn not to comment on such matters?
@@tiffytattoo2450 oh Gawd, that's not the kind of old peeps I want to be or am. I think I'm just way too happy and always excited about younger generations ... your response reminds me to calm down, 'like whoa Nellie! ... not everyone gets what you feel' .... so, sorry!
It's Reepicheep! That's what I instantly thought when you said you were making a mouse warrior, haha. He looks adorable
Shout out to a fellow Narnia fan❤
He’s so adorable… he’s good for our mental health too
There is a graphic novel series called "Mousegard" basically mouse nights in a very lotr feeling world. I think you would love it, very beautifully drawn and written.
I love that series! my drawing professor knew the artist, the guy designs 3D architecture models to take pictures of at different angles just so he has references for his art!
I need to get my hands on this!
We need more of these "selfish" videos because this is fabulous. We love him!!! 🐭🗡️
Totally reminds me of Redwall. Such a good series. Also you made such an adorable mouse knight. You have so much talent. I’m glad you share it.
Now I want to see a full Fellowship of the Ring or Arthurian Round Table as felted animals ❤️
Rachel, I absolutely love all of your content. ...but this may be the best thing I have seen on the internet! I would gladly watch an entire series or multiple series of you making tiny needle felt creatures. So cute!!!! I will be praying to the algorithm gods that others also appreciate this.
Precious little warrior! Love the details--the nose, the armor, the detailing on sword.
Rachel in her folk music era, with the cutest little blessing on TH-cam. Moss is a blast of a game and so cute!
He’s amazing! I love him so much! Thank you for letting us boop the snoot 😁
Redwall was my favorite series growing up. THE FOOD! He does such a great job at describing food.
omg yes, the food! I just wanted to be in that world so badly so I could taste it!
If you don't have the cookbook yet... well, you should get it! He actually made many of the recipes, and they are good!
Yes! I was so disappointed when I got the book Redwall for my daughter and she was “meh”. 😢
Redwall was were my mind went first too!
I was so surprised at the end of the video when Rachel said she hadn't read them yet. They are definitely her vibe. Also the PBS tv show was awesome (although they only covered the Martin the Warrior, Redwall, and Mattimeo books)
OMG!!! This little guy is everything! I love him. ❤❤❤❤❤
