- I was moving the camera so much because I was in awe of the power that rang from the ground when the hail it. Our garage only holds one car. My Dodge Journey was kicked out of the garage when we picked up my new Charger R/T, it was squeezed into the tiny garage to keep the sun off of it.
The whole day it was hot & sunny with only small chance of rain in the forecast in the evening. While cooking dinner we started hearing the clanks of the hail. I grabbed my video camera because I did not think that the insurance company would believe that a couple dents were actually from a random hail storm. Then of course all heck broke loose and the rest is history. Pretty much every car and house in town had some sort of hail damage. Our insurance company had no problem paying for the damages since there was not anything I could have done to mitigate the damages without putting myself in harms way (their words not mine).
Wondering why he didn't put his car in the garage.
I used to live on this base as a kid in about 1999.

Perhaps the prettiest hailstorm I've ever seen
This is a severe thunderstorm, large hail, heavy rain and gusty winds, but no lightning and thunder.
This kind of hail is exceptionally rare here in the Los Angeles Basin and the San Fernando Valley. When it does happen, it's in the wintertime, especially during El Nino. Usually in February.
I feel bad for those people who's vehicles, houses and businesses that got damaged by this hail. Hopefully, they're insurance covers hail and storm damage. Allstate Insurance covers it.
It's crazy seeing that it's hailing even though it's sunny.

Dude, see this is why they have garages...not a single person putting their car inside...not one...
If I lived in an area where large hail was possible, I would keep a box of moving blankets just for protecting cars that were outside when it happened.

Awesome large hailstorm with the sun out. Never seen that in Oklahoma before because that's something that'd usually only happen around the Rockies like in Colorado.

I remember Altus AFB. Lived there from 1979 to 1983. Still remember the May 11, 1982 tornado that hit the base.
I hope you guys are doing okay here in Sydney we have had massive hail last year 20th December and now a month ago or something like that another big hailstorm came again
If your standing outside in this hailstorm. OUCH!!! The strong wind makes it worse. DOUBLE OUCH!!!
