Yes it is actually necessary when your Z1000 has very heavy clutch pull and you have arthritis. I'm looking into getting one right now. Great videos thanks so much very helpful.
👍 Nice installation video. I have it in my 2016 FJ 09 and love it. If you close the throttle a wee bit and shift at the same time the lurch will vanish and shifts will be very smooth. My cut off delay is set at 40 ms based on my driving habit. I have had it for 2 seasons now and it is awesome. If you want to see the difference select the ‘bypass mode’ checkbox. This will return the transmission to regular stock shifting and help you gauge the difference between having a quick shifter and not having one. Uncheck it to enable the quick shifter again.
Ordered mine Feb 27 from Blue Monkey Moto (the US distributor according to Healtech website). Of course they are out of stock, but they knocked off $32 (10%) from the $320 list price for having to wait 10-12 days when they are expected back in. Hopefully this will get rid of the clunky shifting of the lower gears at lower rpms. My FJR shifts great if you really wind up the rpms, but you can't always do that in traffic. Really enjoy the TWO mod and maintenance videos.
That's great! I may have to get that for my FJR. I have looked for videos specifically for the FJR but, I never found any. Thanks for you time and effort with the video. You answered all my questions. I was concerned about the first to second shift being the transmission is a little clunky anyway.
Nice tutorial mate. I followed this video and not the paper instructions lol. You say that you kept it close to factory setting right? I’m not really understanding the sensor value settings. Have you changed from 30%?
Bryan, I installed this same quick shifter about 6 months ago thanks to this video. It works great, except I sometimes notice a "double click" in the shift lever when using it. It doesn't affect the shifting at all, but it feels very strange. Again, it feels like your foot goes through two notches when pulling up on the shifter. Do you ever get this?
I would only want a quickshifter for downshifting as I have mastered the ability to manually clutchless upshift already. Would it not be a simple matter of blipping up as you downshift with this quickshifter to solve the whole blipping issue? At the very least having a slipper clutch on board should help keep things less rough without the blips, no?
The slipper has nothing to do with safe dog bone engagement, only traction. Clutchless upshifting is not the same. You can’t do it holding full throttle.
I'm afraid I don't know enough to understand the difference with a slipper clutch then. As for clutchless upshifting, I know it's different from just a quick up shifter, but I see little value in an quick up shifter only when manual clutchless upshifting is easy enough to do, hence my want for a quickshifter to be more for down than up. A quick flick of the wrist to up shift isn't worth the expense of an up only quick shifter to me. Thanks anyway, I may have to bite the dust and look at bikes with factory up and down shifters after all.
I have a FJR1300 2001 with PC3 USB. I could go with a PC QS but i'de need a ignition module. This Healtech QS looks good, but will it work with a PC3 already in place?
Hello, when you install the quickshifter motor sound is changed? Because in my fjr 1300 is changed and I'm concerned about it. The sound became ruder appeared some kind of roar
I am also very interested in this quickshifter for my '08 FJR1300. Do you still like it after 8 months of use? And did you have any problems with it? Does this quickshifter cause any damage on the gearbox. I ask because I use the FJR for daily commuting, and I don't want to change the gearbox after installing this quickshifter. A lot of questions, hopefully you are willing to answer them. Thank you, and keep on making great FJR content :-) .
It's one of the best mods to any bike I've done - super fun for the price! As long as you use it properly - always use it under load and with at least 50% throttle, it's perfect. No issues.
TwoWheelObsession well actually was saying I have the 2014 fjr1300. And have a power commander installed. I was looking at that healtech quckshifter you got and was wondering if that unit came with a connection piece. That would connect to the power commander. In some special way
My 17 year old son wants to ride my BMW S1000R...I think I may get him this quickshifter for his Yamaha FZ6R, for his birthday. Not ready to let him enjoy the quickshifter on the S1000R yet.

Ok so I for one ride and I think most do to feel the road To have that experience of man and machine in unison The whole idea is to have that mechanical feel of man and machine It's the whole reason it's more fun to drive a standard car than one with an automatic So why turn a bike into a semi automatic????? I just don't get it, it's not like we are trying to shave a half second off a lap time Just trying to go out for a ride Help me understand
TwoWheelObsession Back in the day 70's that is I had a friend who had ?? TwoWheelObsession Ya I get that But how many will disable it after the novelty where's off. I need all the cash I can save so I don't go out and get the newest thing just because I am still working on a 5 year old cell and happy with it. I know for you it gets you vews and by that $$$ and am happy to help you along. Wish I could join the club but oh well. Lol
Lubo, its another step toward perfection in riding. Go to a superbike race and listen to the sound of perfection in shifting. Better for the bike, better for you. If you like to ride slower, or find yourself being passed frequently while riding your bike, this isn’t a mod you could use or benefit from. Ride your ride.
Got one. Factory original equipment on my 2006. Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift. Didn't sell well enough to keep them coming to Murica. Can still be had on new models in Europe. Muricans so dumb about that stuff.
Similar but not quite the same. I greatly prefer shifting my with foot.
6 ปีที่แล้ว +1
Yeah, not the same. Better. You can shift with your foot, or with your finger. Quick shift up and down, with a flick of the forefinger. Finger flick is faster than moving the foot.
You don't have to use the clutch when using the foot shifter?
6 ปีที่แล้ว
No. There is no clutch lever. The YCCS disengages the clutch, the cuts the ignition, changes gears, all in a nano second with the flick of a finger. Upshift or downshift, any rpm, using the foot shift or the finger shift. It's really nice for traffic, and just a hoot out in the twisties and when doing a max acceleration. You roll to stop with it in first gear. System disengages the clutch while you wait for the light to change. Then just twist the throttle to go.

I never knew I wanted a quickshifter until I bought my MT10. Then I've been waiting for this video to decide what to get for the FJR. Now I'm sold.

If the sifter arm is not a keyed spline you can remove and rotate it a bit to get more room for the sensor.
Excellent video ! - I'm waiting on delivery of one of these for my GSR750 - looks like I made a good choice !
Witam. Świetna robota i super film. Dziękuję za instrukcje montażu quick shifter. Pozdrawiam

All the typical clunkiness is gone lol People don't believe me that it's way better than shifting yourself!
Great job on the install, I have a Gixxer 1000 and I just purchased the healtech! Thanks for the informative piece.
Dark_Place siema, and you would send all the settings you have on your phone, preferably skreenshot

Dark_Place well here for you tub
Hi,
Thanks for the video.
Probably a silly question. Do you have to isolate what has been unplugged from the ignition coil?
Or you just left them there?
Hi there. Do you not recommend to use when downshifting? Or this is impossible with healtech?
I've been looking in to getting back into riding after years away enjoy your videos And the pollens from the Oak trees.
Please post your settings in the video comment section. Tnx
Nice tutorial mate. I followed this video and not the paper instructions lol. You say that you kept it close to factory setting right? I’m not really understanding the sensor value settings. Have you changed from 30%?
can you install one of these in a european AE model Gen4?
Bryan, I installed this same quick shifter about 6 months ago thanks to this video. It works great, except I sometimes notice a "double click" in the shift lever when using it. It doesn't affect the shifting at all, but it feels very strange. Again, it feels like your foot goes through two notches when pulling up on the shifter. Do you ever get this?
why you mount sensor on arm and not on rod?
Because that's where this type of sensor goes.
But, can I shift gears normally with the quick shifter installed?
if you use clutch, qs anyway kill engine?
Yes but you can’t feel anything or tell
Listening to your speech already hook mw up into QS 😁😁
what is sensor working principle ?
it is a little knock sensor. When its move it generates AC voltage.
Could you unload the video engine while idling after installation shifter?

I forgot to ask in my previous post, where did you buy it? Thanks again.
SportbikeTrackgear but I'm sure many have it
How much did you pay? The healtech-electronics.com site sends you to the shop.bluemonkeymotorsports.com/Quick-Shifter_c_268.html site for $319.99
Does Google not work today? LOL Come on people...
Stupid question - did you pull clutch to shift up?
No, that's the whole point of the product
@@TwoWheelObsession got it. And as I know to switch gears without clutch I have to have Slipper clutch (2016+ FJR1300), right?
Slipper clutch or not, has nothing to do with a quickshifter.
is it still in functional state after two seasons ? I heard this kind of sensors is not very endurable just by their nature.
Yep
Hi bryan can you tell me your healtech settings on your fjr as mine seems not so smooth..thanks for any help
Auto and forget it
My teachers where right. Dammit. Math does help even after school!! I sucked at Algebra.
My green light is blinking what to do?
I have a FJR1300 2001 with PC3 USB. I could go with a PC QS but i'de need a ignition module. This Healtech QS looks good, but will it work with a PC3 already in place?
I don’t know I would email them
I have PC3 USB and Healthech Quickshifter on my CBR1100XX and it works smooth, no problems at all.
I emailed them and they said as long as it is hooked last in line to the coils it will be good
Hello, when you install the quickshifter motor sound is changed?

No
Hi Brian
This quick shifter works for a 2006 Fjr ?
Thanks a lot for showing us maintenance
Yep
@@TwoWheelObsession What about a 2003 FJR?
Do you have to roll off the throttle or are you holding steady during the up shift?
You do not roll off with a quickshifter you need to maintain throttle
It makes a difference in drag racing
if you buy this, do you need to shift always on full trottle ( when your shiftlight comes on, or just when you want liek with your stock cluth , thx
No, partial throttle is fine, above 25% or so.
I am also very interested in this quickshifter for my '08 FJR1300.
Do you still like it after 8 months of use? And did you have any problems with it?

Just wondering if you already have a power commander installed. Does that kit come with a connection for it Or you have to get that separately.
Depends on the bike www.powercommander.com/powercommander/products/quickshifter/powercommander_quick_shifter.aspx
Same bike as you :). Thanks
Oh you were asking if I do - no, no need for me I have a stock exhaust. No the HealTech has nothing to do with a PowerCommander.
TwoWheelObsession well actually was saying I have the 2014 fjr1300. And have a power commander installed. I was looking at that healtech quckshifter you got and was wondering if that unit came with a connection piece. That would connect to the power commander. In some special way
No, it has nothing to do with it. If there is a PC option for any particular bike you have to use that only.
What happened to the bobber :cruiser you built
Sold it to my friend Josh last year
Hi, is it working for up and down?
Where it must be installed for working up and down?
While it does work for down, I don't use it because it doesn't do an auto blip. Not safe.
My 17 year old son wants to ride my BMW S1000R...I think I may get him this quickshifter for his Yamaha FZ6R, for his birthday. Not ready to let him enjoy the quickshifter on the S1000R yet.
Good call lol
Do you still pull the clutch in when up shift?
No, that's the point of a quickshifter
How hard are you lifting on shifter while upshifting? Thanks!
Normal - nothing changes about that whatsoever, you are still mechanically shifting.
Thx Bryan love ur vids m8
Dumb question, what about down shifting?
While it supports it, it has no auto-blipper so I don't do it.
Great video, thank you!
Does this work on gen 1 bikes?
Yes it has nothing to do with gen - works on virtually any bike period
excellent !!!!!! well done !!!
Love TWO
Thanks ✌🏻
Do you have any idea when the next gen is coming on the market? I can't seem to find anything on the internet about the next gen.
Those that know can't say. Those that say don't know.
Still happy after 2 years, no issues?
