when you get tailed by a p51 or any other relatively fast allied plane, you need to go into a shallow dive and improve your airspeed, the jet will pick up enormous speed very quickly.
Indeed. That is what saved Leutnant Walter Hagenahs life 10th April 1945. With a Me-262, you do not dodge by banking. You dodge by pulling both, the gas switch and the steering stick forward.
Don’t approach the bombers from behind like that, IL2 makes gunners supper deadly and the 262 does not like to take damage. Approach from the forward position in a dive you can nuke 1-2 bombers this way with minimal defensive fire and the escorts are always playing catch up.
Real tactic was called the roller coaster, high speed firing pass from above and behind followed by a second pass in a climb. Speed and energy retention allowing for multiple bomber kills during firing passes while evading fighter escorts.
Absolutely have to use your speed to advantage that's what the Jets .that's only way to use your speed in the attack from front. Why would you take a jet and slow down to 300 mph?
Taff, you really need to learn the advantages of boom and zoom. Not every fighter can be a Spitfire. You should have had those mustangs and thunderbolts waaaaay back on your six had you managed your energy better.
Please don't turn with enemy fighters in a 262 you're literally throwing away your only advantage which is the absurd amount of thrust a jet has compared to piston-engined aircraft if you turn you bleed airspeed and allow the enemy to catch up with you
Love your work man, always did. Today however, I feel the urge to play myself. I'm sure you've been asked before but can u pls tell me what VR gear u use or recommend pls? Tia.
Those rockets on the 262 were highly effective and bomber losses in final days of the war shot up alarmingly. A single hit equalled a destroyed target.
If you had been in a Bf-109 you'd never have approached the bombers from the rear - just because you can add 100-200 knots in an Me-262 does not mean you massively change tactics. You should approach perpendicular and from above - your chance of hitting increases by cross section, but diminishes by time - however, comma, it's SAFER. And it allows you to keep the fighters off of you after you conduct your attack - you're in a shallow dive and not getting peppered by bomber .50 rounds.
Captain Eric Winkle Brown, who flew some 470 different aircraft during his flying career from the bi-plane era through to the jet age rated the Me-262 as "the most formidable aircraft of WW2" but the way you used it here it became an "also ran". Your big advantage in the 262 is speed (540 mph) over 100 mph faster than the fastest Allied aircraft. The 262 is NOT a turn fighter: it was intended as a bomber destroyer, so don't get sucked into turn fights with Allied aircraft. When you turn you bleed off airspeed and lose the huge advantage you have at your disposal. Those P51s shouldn't have been able to get anywhere near getting guns on you if you had used your aircraft as it should be used. You're not flying the Hurricane now, Taff! While it may seem heroic to try and get back to base, it was probably wiser after you were hit and wounded to bail out rather than to attempt a crash landing which could have ended badly.
Now, the 262 would make an excellent choice for a career! Go on Taff, get a career on the go again, miss the bond that comes with pilots like Trofim, and that naughty chap from Rise of Flight, can’t remember his name now lol
Maybe the 262 guns have a little delay, but the speed of the the 30mm bullets is quite low so you have to lob your rounds onto the target. Rockets behave the same way. Well done, beautiful looking plane, but why you didn´t bail out?
Taff's paralysing fear of his own parachute strikes again...
If he is wounded,he may not be able to use it!

Those 30 mm canon wow! One hit should do the job!
And still, u see in some movies like "Red Tails" it seems like he is firing 1mm Canon. No damage at all😂😂

Taff I really appreciate you taking the time to make your videos especially IL2. Thank you

That injury effect is nightmare inducing. Very immersive.
The weird thing is, I was just thinking this afternoon, “I’d love for Taff to do an Il-2 video in an Me-262.”
Turn fighting in a 262? I see you like to live dangerously!
Please don't turn with enemy fighters in a 262

Hi...he uses Track-IR, I believe, as do I. An excellent piece of kit for this and other sims...I highly recommend it. Cheers.

Great episode Taff, but have you ever heard of parachutes?

Very cool video Taff thank you
Thanks for the video Taff. :)
Man the me262 is a damn sexy jet fighter
Ah, it's good to see Staffell Taffellwaffell in the air again lol

Virgin "don't turn fight in a 262" vs chad "it's a fighter plane innit?"

Hi, what is the pilot saying in the background at 1:40? It sounds really cool can someone pls translate it for me :/
❤❤❤❤
19:17 You probably bent the aircraft but you’re still alive.
It might even be salvageable. If it doesn't burn out that is.
More 262 please
German Ace:"Zeig keine Gnade!" (Show no mercy!)
I am in a flying Bomb and on fire, so let not use our parashout ! and hope we don't go BOOM when we crash land 😀😀😀😀Watched and 👍 Liked
Engaging in turn fights. Omg. Not exactly the role me 262 was suited for… zoom and boom is the way to go !
That was excellent!!! Were you using unlimited bullets?
I just kept yelling “get out! Get out! GET OUT!”
good one again
need a new career for Taff, did you have the Schräge Musik cannon option?
When you overshot the bomber you could've just looked at how many lines you were over the target on your gun sight to know what your aiming point was
Taff you really need to learn when to bail out.

The delay in the cannon firing comes from your slow trigger finger. You oaf!
KG/51?
lol you don't like to bail out do you.
Please more of these type of episodes or tanks, the others are boring, great episode.
would be so much better without that German radio noise in the background
USE your Speed...... Stop doing the Turn Game your going to get KILLED..again...LoL
Accurate survival time of an average combat 262 pilot sadly
Im cutious but the 262s even under air superiority from the allies. Still had an increibly high kd
Your game play is heled back by your shooting, you need to learn how to pull lead accurately, figure out deflection, and judge range
I've watched shed loads of your videos over the last couple of years and your targeting and shooting is still bloody atrocious
