I own the Beats Pill, JBL Charge 5, and the Sonos Roam...the Beats Pill is the best overall. It gets loud, has good bass, and the 24 hour battery life is a big deal. I use a Bluetooth speaker daily when I shave, shower, and get dressed and also during home workouts. The Pill only needs to be charged once a week and it looks better than the other speakers
The beats in no way has more bass than JBL charge 5, i own both, besides the beats pill is just a closed enclosure, no ports or passive radiators, so it misses the deeper part of the bass.
I own a Sonos roam. What about if you were to boost the treble of the Sonos roam up/all the way up? How is the comparison then? Really considering getting a pill
@@franclinstechrepair3791 Ports and passive radiators aren’t the end all be all for deep bass, high quality drivers and a good dsp can go a long way these days. The Pill actually plays surprisingly deep for a unit of its size while being a sealed enclosure. This is especially noticeable when you place the speaker against a wall or in the corner of a room. It’s the same method being used in the Bang & Olufsen A1 2nd Gen, separate woofer and tweeter inside a sealed enclosure and that speaker plays deeper than a Charge 5, though not quite as powerful at higher volume levels since it’s quite a bit smaller.

It’s actually a very bright sounding speaker, verging on too bright sometimes at higher volume levels depending whats being played. Spotify’s built in EQ feature really comes in clutch on this speaker, increasing the Pills mids a little bit really makes it shine.
Nice it is a great speaker… i stand by JBL i have a Charge 4, 5 and Flip 6. I just got my Pill yesterday and it is awesome, at 50% volume and lower. The sound is bright and crisp, but over 50% the bass gets fluttered. But 50% and lower it really does sound much better than Flip 6 and Charge 4.
I have had several Flip 5s and I also have a Marshall Emberton. The Flip 5 produces a lot more bass because it is a subwoofer, however the Marshall mids and highs are much better by far. I'm kind of curious about the Beats Pill bass level. If I was trying to do a little party the JBL would be better, but for what I'm doing looking for more quality sound at lower volumes the marshall is better and it doesn't roll around because it's square also changing tracks and volume is much easier on a square speaker because you don't have to look at it and spin it around to find the controls
It depends on your use case. If you’re using it outside while backpacking or riding your bike where space is limited, I’m sure that it’s a good option. If you plan on using it mainly indoors, you can pick up a Soundcore Boom2 for $129.99 or less.

Just picked up the new beats pills and honest my JBL flip 4 kept up with the loudness . The Pill has a little more clarity but not much . For the price difference I would go for the JBL
No coincidence the Sonos roam and the Beats Pill don’t use a passive radiator. Both of these speakers have focused on sound quality rather than giving you pumping one note bass like a lot of booming speakers on the market
Flips 6 is due for an update. Beats pill sounds way better but like huge flaw which was pointed out in this video. So Flip wins, the eq for the flip is a gimmick app ain’t too good. Beats needs to fix the pill so it can live up to the price lol
I already have the charger five but bought The beats pill. Five has more base is more loud even at higher volumes, but beats speaker is only good till 50% after that it falls apart so at the end, I returned the beats speaker and kept my charge wife so if you can find it on sale

The highs on the Flip sound very harsh compared to the Beats Pill. This is very important for ear comfort during long listening sessions.

For me the Pill sounds Better at 50% and lower volumes.
Flip 6 at over 50% volume.
My problem with the jbl flip 6 and I have 2 of them is that the battery life is garbage to me, it should be so much better

Sure the beats have sound quality. But JBL flip 6 can handle mid n highs. Jbl also perfect for outdoors too. I max out the highs n boost bass 1 up
