    Couple of things after apparently coming back to this.
    1. If you set your camera to lock the shutter speed at 1/50th of a second (360 degrees) when doing 50fps filming, the motion blur of the footage will look more natural. Also, if you want smoother than 25fps, but take up less storage space, you can run it at 30fps with a 1/50th shutter speed, and your interior lights won't flicker on camera.
    2. You can set up a vacuum delay valve to a BOV and get both dose AND pshew from the BOV of your choice. Some guys with a RWD subie wagon did it, just look up "delayed blow-off valve" and look for the black subie.
    3. Your car sounds SICK, if you get the chance try other pipe materials or sizes, just don't use a smaller pipe than your turbo inlet, lol! Also, having a curve is pretty important for dose from what my research shows, even just a 45 makes a big difference over a straight. Though the right size straight will still do it.

    Great run through! Huge dose lol. Did you consider doing a return flow setup so you didn't have to cut the battery tray?

    • @JScottDrifts
      @JScottDrifts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I considered it and was the original plan but I figure it wouldn't be hard to patch the hole if for some reason I didn't want the battery tray cut

    Good shit man sounds sick. Your not using any of the factory vacuum hose to the waste gate are you? Because a couple of them have restrictors in them could be a reason for your creep. I got rid of most of mine with a new wastegate actuator and an ebc, it still creeps though from 5k up.

    • @JScottDrifts
      @JScottDrifts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah I made sure I didn't use any of the factory hose I did see all those restrictors. I'm going to be re doing a section of the exhaust I wonder if that will help if I let it breathe a little better

    • @Brentpn
      @Brentpn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JScottDrifts a more free flowing exhaust will only give you more boost creep man, the stock t28 exhaust housing can't let enough air through the wastegate port.
      You can try porting out the housing around the wastegate port that helps it escape better but it still happens. That's what I did with mine cause I wanted to hold onto the t28 for at least the first round of tuning.

    • @Brentpn
      @Brentpn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What were you boosting to with the stock solinoid in there? Your actuator might be pooched.

    • @JScottDrifts
      @JScottDrifts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was creeping up under big 3rd pulls over 100kms it would creep towards 1 bar so quite possible the actuator is cooked

      according to what? I've never had one blow, or know of anyone who has, because of flutter. I've done it on a 500hp+ car, I went through 2 transmissions, a tail shaft and a block, and still had no shaft play or any signs of wear on the turbo. My mate owned it for years before me and I sold it on to a mate of mine, it still has the same turbo.

      compressor surge is not good, no matter what you think

  • @RianNeves
    @RianNeves 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    compression surge isn't the reason why it makes STUTUTU. You can achieve the same thing with a blow off valve, a compression surge is when you are revving up and you can hear the turbo flutter without upshifting. Before making videos learn your fax

    • @JScottDrifts
      @JScottDrifts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Turbo surge is the exact reason for the flutter sound. You need to check your fax buddy.

    • @headchef5680
      @headchef5680 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      and blow off valves dont give you flutter. they give you pshhhh because they release all the air.

    • @RianNeves
      @RianNeves 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@headchef5680 Nope, they can give you flutter if you adjust the airflow release on it. Also depends on the BOV

    • @Julkorv
      @Julkorv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RianNeves then the BOV doesnt do what its supposed to.

    • @DriftNick
      @DriftNick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you are getting flutter with a blow off valve it's because it's not releasing enough pressure and is surging.
