    Looks great, I wasnt very brave, I waited until 64 to go gray. I buzzed my hair, im now 65, soon to be 66, and I love my natural white, darker in the back. God knows what hes doing, and what color looks best on each of us. I wish I hadnt waited so long.

    Thank you for sharing your story. I’m just beginning to take my silver journey. I’m one month in and plan to let it grow out a few more months then cut it into a pixie. I’ve been dying it for the last 33 years and toying with the idea of letting it go natural for a couple of years. I turned 63 last month and decided I’d finally had enough of dying my hair. So thanks for the encouragement and inspiration I appreciate it. 💖💫

    Not sure how I landed on this post, but it must have been in the Universe somehow that I got it. I AM a hairstylist - or at least was for ten years - and started coloring my hair when I was about 28 or so. I continued it for 41 YEARS!!!! Every three weeks because my hair grows fast and when I turned 69 I said "ENOUGH". Everyone said the same thing "It will age you and you won't like it"...blah, blah, blah. Well, I did grow out the color in about four or five months (again with the fast growing hair that was short to start with) and I truly love it. I get more respect, it changes how I see my eyes which are somehow bluer, I like the colors I now can wear that I couldn't as an auburn color, etc. And I'm saving a ton of money. I figured that I spent about $5,000.00 coloring my hair AND I did it myself. Imagine how much it would have been if I had gone to a salon to do it! Anyway, I get tons of compliments, am still told I look very young for my age (which is now 70) and I couldn't be happier. Let me just add that in analyzing why people say the stupid things they do about Youth...it's because that's what our society keeps ramming down our throats. No one is worth anything if they are old....must be young, have whiter teeth, no wrinkles, etc. Nothing but crap to sell us more stuff - and destroy our self confidence and self worth in the process. Okay...I'm off the soap box now.

      I agree with all you shared, and yes grey/white and silver hair can brighten us up, flatter skin tones and make blue eyes pop:) Good for you for going natural. It does NOT have to be aging, though there is nothing shameful about growing older (and wiser).

    Hello Michelle
    You're hair look amazing! I went to the salon 1 month ago and wanted to do also high- and low-lights, but the guy took over and said he knew what to do, that i will like it.... well he bleached and did 2 toner and purple shampoo and it looked great!
    But after my first wash my hair was screaming.. total frizz... i feared that cause i colored and highlighted my hair for about 30 plus years...
    So i cut it some more and use a lot of good produkt and wait till it grows out.. im in my 3. month, so still a long way to go but really looking foreward. it's the right moment, i m 63..
    The only thing that i noticed, since the treatment my hair almost did not grow... any suggestion how to grow hair faster?
    By the way you should put up a bit the volume when making videos...

    Beautiful. Love your hair. I’m obsessed too! I’m 46. Almost one year into growing out my gray. It’s been fun. I love my natural color which is ashy/grey/white highlights. I went cold turkey and half is dyed blonde and highlights. The more my natural gray comes in, the more I wish the blonde to be gone. My hair is collarbone length. It will take me another year to be fully transitioned.

    My hair looks really similar to yours... I bleached the old color out and recolored with toner. The ends did not get covered as much as the roots, so my ends are still very light blonde. It looks like a biolage' color (how ever that is spelled). Good thing we are in a fashion era where anything goes. 20, 30 years ago if the part in my hair was not perfect I was a mess.

    So happy I found this video. I am 48 years old and going gray the second time. I wasn't ready the first time and dyed it again. I liked it for 3 weeks..It was en mistake. Now 2 years later I am growing out my grays again. The only thing is, that my husband doesn't like gray hair... but he has to accept it, I am ditching the dye for good! I had very dark hair, but I am almost white in the front (like you) and dark gray at the back. I have grey eyes, so I look pale with gray hair, I definitely have to wear more make-up. How old (young) are you ladies? Please write down here , thanx !!

    I love your hair. I am just 2 months into this process. I had heavy highlights 2 months ago, using a chrome toner that seems to fade to a more yellow blonde in two weeks or so. I have probably 75 percent gray in my crown and around the hairline. However, the back and some right in the front top is a lot darker than I imagined it would be. I think I will go for low- lights next. Any suggestions?

    • @michellerayfriedman9665
      @michellerayfriedman9665  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Al'an!
      Thanks for your message. without seeing a few different photos of your hair it's hard for me to make a good suggestion ...I would just say be sure to take great care of your hair throughout the low lighting highlighting process and maybe give it a chance for more hair to grow in before you add more color? unless of course you're not liking the way it looks. it's going to take about five months to really see what your pattern is and you might end up really liking it!
      That's part of the beauty of gray hair ...everyone's look is unique and has different shades of white or gray.

    • @michellerayfriedman9665
      @michellerayfriedman9665  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I assumed I would always add some lowlights a few times a year since I knew my hair was pretty white on top....however about six months in I realized the dyed hair would always turn brassy at some point and also I realized my own color was pretty:)

    Starting on my journey. I gave short hair and I want to grow it but cannot stomach the thought of continuing color long hair. My color never looks good for more than a week. I am starting to notice how fake it looks on friends ....hmmm maybe I do too. I am 64, look young but it is starting to feel fake. I cannot take 2 years ...I have to look decent for business. So I am taking the plunge, letting it grow out as long as I can, then getting a pixie. Then I can grow it as long as I want. I know this has to happen at some point. I have taken the edge off by using dandruff shampoo to remove some of the color, you hair looks great!

      If you have for 5 months growth could you have your hair put up in an updo to hide the demarcation line a bit ? That might be a good solution if not getting a cut or a trim should help you feel a bit better... a toner might help the colored hair but I'm not sure because I don't know what color the hair is if it's brassy like mine was itcould help and that's not permanent color.

    Your stunning and your hair colour suits your skin tone. However I’m very grey at 60 but I can’t go grey because it does not suit my skin tone and actually ages me unfortunately.

    I just made the announcement to my husband, son and daughter in law, that I’ve decided to go gray.
    My husband said “do whatever you want” , but my son and daughter-in-law looked at me and laughed and said I’ll never make it. I’m so determined to make this work. Now the challenge is on!
    Thanks for your information.

      Shawn Christine Jones you will not regret it I am 1 year into last July I ditched the dye as my hair was thinning out out not it more thicker and healthier it is platinum grey with my black it’s like sugar coated it so beautiful I get a lot of compliments even if it all grey I had made a decision of not turning back sitting with the dye every month I was thinking what am I doing to my hair and the all that colour in the scalp and forehead used to wash everyday to make it look natural then the month was her again sprouting with the white hair coming out so embrace this is god glory and we should enjoy 😉

    I am 63 yo and wanting to let my natural color come through... it has been 7 weeks now... I have an appointment on Thursday to get it colored... I don’t know which direction to go in!... I am so happy I found your video.. thank you for all the info... all of what you are saying I agree with!.,, I wear makeup daily... I stay thin... I don’t think women look older going natural... I think they look better!... I would love the help!... much love and appreciation!💜💜💜💜

      Hi Linda thanks so much for your comments! if you can be a little bit patient and let your color grow in I'm sure you will be happy with it ...the grow out is the hardest part but you can always highlight and or low light or cut some of your hair off to speed up the process:)

    • @lindamarocco4583
      @lindamarocco4583 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michelle Ray Smart Beauty Rituals my hairstylist said we could highlight and lowlight... someone else suggested trying on wigs to see how the grey would look... men can just go grey at the blink of an eye... nobody cares... but, everyone makes you feel you as a woman, will look so much older... I am so into skincare, and love wearing makeup.., I don’t believe that statement... especially now seeing you!... you look amazing!... gorgeous hair color and gorgeous face! Thank you for responding!!!!💜💜💜💜

      @@lindamarocco4583 you could definitely try on wigs to get some idea but the truth is you won't know what your exact color looks like until you have at least a few inches of growth unless of course your mom or dad went gray then chances are your hair could be similar to theirs...
