This episode really showed that heimerdinger could have solved a lot of the problems with piltover and the undercity if he actually locked TF in. Just like jayce and ekko have been telling him to actually live like your lifespan is the same as everyone else's and why they can't just wait for progress to happen, they have to initiate it.
@praisethefirstborn6226 if jayce listened his life's work would have been destroyed and he would have killed himself. Even heimerdinger after the time skip agreed that hextech improved a lot of people's lives as well as increasing piltovers standing to the rest of the world.
@@nunavon8952 I dont see how that changes anything. I personally think that the alternate timeline is much more realistically happy, and not just because of heimer. There still hasnt been a confirmation that it was just viktor that caused the anomaly, it could easily still just be that the arcane is evil. Hexgates are something that cannot work in this world setting anyways so its completely BS. If jayce has to die for piltover to prosper and silco not becoming a tyrant than I think thats definitely worth it. Hextech when it comes down to it in the lore is almost exclusively used for some of the most powerful weapons, jayce never inventing it is very likely a good thing. Plus Yordles see the world completely differently than any other race does, how tf is he even supposed to know things are wrong for the undercity if EVERY other councilor is corrupt and just telling him lies? @@praisethefirstborn6226 But hextech not being invented doesn't explain how the undercity developed like that. Even before hextech was invented piltover still took advantage of the undercity. Like they were saying in season 1, most of these could be solved if the council decided to help develop zaun, especially from a council member with such a standing like heimerdinger.

A lot of the episode actually hints towards her future experiments with hextech. Vander's comments, ekko's left over notes, new potential motivations to try (vi/other ekko). Also victor in episode 9 says hextech is inevitable which means it will happen in the alternate universe sooner or later.
@@testing85 Not everything has to be a moral or exist to make you feel purely good. There's a reason tragedies have been written since the time of ancient Greece and are still popular today.
In the alternate reality if Jayce wasn't killed in the explosion then probably either took his own life or is in prison. A child being killed as a result of his unsanctioned experiments with the crystals, would mean he'd get a much harsher punishment from the Council. Also Viktor probably wouldn't be inclined to intervene or to save Jayce's research, hence no Hextech and so no Hexcore and so probably no Viktor either.
and if Cait died in the explosion as well, Cassandra would have done everything to get his head on a pike if possible, so yeah, he either ended up jumping out of guilt rather than failure, or is in prison rotting for life probably
The unstable hextech was what killed her sister. That's her memorabilia of loss: the shards for her sister & the locket for the loss of Ekko from an alternate universe. She's content with leaving them as remembrance. "Sometimes, taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind."
Notice that hextech was never invented in this timeline which means Jayce and Viktor never met here and this means that Jayce ended up killing himself by jumping off the building and Viktor problably died from his illness or is bedridden hence why we don't see them here.
Yeah, the guilt of someone actually dying in the accident would have sent Jayce over the edge faster so that Viktor wouldn't even have the chance to save Jayce then.
That's not true because **spoiler** told him that in ALL TIMELINES, ALL POSSIBILITIES that only blank can show him this. Meaning Jayce couldn't have died. If he did, who's gonna show blank "this" what they're talking about
I assumed Jayce either died in the explosion that killed Vi or possibly was banished or imprisoned. The council was on the edge of doing this anyway and the explosion killing a kid, even a Zaunite kid, might have pushed the council not to show leniency. Your jumping earlier theory also makes sense. In any case, I assume Jayce and Viktor never got a chance to collaborate, thus no Hextech.
Your conversation about the corrupted aesthetic of hextech is why you guy's are some of my favorite reactors like it's so nice to listen to discussions about the artistic style of this show that go beyond "wow this looks really pretty"
I kinda feel the invention of Hextech itself won’t always lead to the end times. I think Viktor making the Hexcore and fusing his blood into leads to all the chaos.

The last scene shows us how she's "mourning" ekko. How? The hex crystals. She's not jinx, she's powder she's more outgoing and honest, her emotions are clearly displayed in her face, through the chapter they showed us her being wary, curious doubtful, but mainly, in love with "ekko" at the beginning with the other ekko, and since the science montage, our ekko. She slowly get the understanding, even if it was miniscule, that the person in front of her was different, she stopped seeing him as the other ekko and started desiring to, and tried to, know our ekko. That's why when her boyfriend (like common, it's pretty obvious "troubles in paradise", really? ), suddenly asked her for something so random, like to act like it's the first time, she didn't react to that, she had an underlying feeling that he was different. That's why, when that other person that both was and wasn't her lover, who also showed that he cared for and loved her, dissappears in front of her eyes, she decides to preserve that beautiful memory while moving forward with her life. That's why, she stored the keepsake that (presumably) he gave her along with the last thing she achieved with her sister, stealing the crystals or the memory of that day, her regret and pain. She didn't throw those away, but kept them in her private space, where she also prays for her sister, close to her but not in the way, closing the message this chapter tried to give us, "sometime taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind". Moving on, not letting our past chain us, but living with the memories of the happiness we had before and using it as a motivator, just like ekko, leaving a paradise to face reality, inspired by that possibility, that hope.
