Many characters also had a half happy ending, or bittersweet ending. I mean Cait lost her mother and an eye, and Vi lost her sister, and they went through much trauma, but at least they have each other now and are able to be cautiously optimistic about their future and the future of pilotver/Zaun. Many characters are like that; Sevika now have an opportunity to help the Undercity, the survivors "won", etc.
The one character we really DIDN'T want to get his happy ending! Still, given everything that led up to the finale, I think that the end result was about as good as we could have hoped for.
Ekko didn't rewind time in the first season. It was a visualization more of him planning and seeing ahead mixed with them being kids. It was stylized to be like his abilities but it's more foreshadowing than him actually rewinding time.
@@arcojin-carlosh.9435That's exactly what it is. He plays out the same sequence that they did as kids in his head, and then "rewinds" back to the beginning of it.
The irony and intention of the scene being that even in rewinding time in his mind, it played out exactly the same way both times. Jinx clearly and easily had the chance to shoot him when the true event played out, she just decided not to, because she couldn't bring herself to do it, knowing that she would actually kill him.
it seems pretty clear they got vaguely spoiled on some stuff and melded it into their actual memories. but simones reactions always seem very exaggerated to me anyway so maybe im just cynical
@@brittoncain5090 With a slight addition, that Ekko is deliberately baiting Jinx into firing in the same way she did when they were young, making her more predictable (and overconfident, since she always won). In short, Ekko level-grinded, and tricked Jinx into playing like she did when they were both noobs.
My theory is Jayce wasn't sent to the good universe with Ekko and Heimerdinger because he's not around in that universe: Either he died in the same explosion as Vi, or Victor wasn't there to prevent his suicide (He was there in prime universe because he was intrigued by Jayce's research, presumably less intrigued in this universe after it killed a teenage girl)
At the first episode Powder looks at the white airships and said one day she'll sail on one of those. That + investigating the tower's air duct schematics indicates Jinx made it out, and left to break the cycle.
Yep, and if you look closely or slow down the scene when they are falling, you can see the pink shimmer streaks going to the right before the explosion. Jinx set of the bomb, but dipped out, so it only took out Vander or the creature that's left.
@@peter_m_9814there are two streaks of pink simultaneously going in different directions. She couldn’t be both, her being only one is stupid (what’s the other one then?), but she could be neither. It’s bad, cheap, stupid writing to have someone just fake their death and start over.
@@surlycanadian The one I'm talking about is going to the top right corner. I don't see any big pink streaks going to any other direction. I checked frame by frame, I checked still images, it's clear the pink streaks of Jinx are going in one direction only. Cause she escapes.
@@peter_m_9814 negative. There’s the one you’re talking about going to top right, at 1 o’clock if the shot is a clock face. The second one is going to the top left at about 11 o’clock. Reduce your playback speed to .5. Also, someone else made a good point that the monkey bomb created the same pink shimmer streaks in the opening scene when she tries to blow herself up. I went and rematches that scene at .5 playback speed and in the side profile shots when she’s side-eying Ekko you can see the monkey bombs eyes are shooting out the pink beams. And they are going off in the angled pattern that I described in my first paragraph. One pink beam over her left shoulder and one over her right shoulder. Would look like a 1 o’clock/11 o’clock V pattern when zoomed out and above.
@@surlycanadian We are talking about different things. I'm talking about the one singular streak that goes off to the right at the very beginning of the explosion. You are talking about the explosion itself. I can't share a link here in the comments, but just google it. You'll see what I'm talking about, plenty of still frames of it on reddit and X, and they clearly show one pink streak, just when the bomb is starting to go off. That's Jinx, any additional pink or blue streak and smoke is the bomb itself.
@@Invader_Rin13 Everyone just knew that chasing Singed is a bad idea, and we saw him farming jungle in S2E1 while everyone else was teamfighting. Bro's just game accurate :P
So, a few interesting points (and some answers to your questions): - In-game Victor is a mechanical genious who's fixated on "glorious evolution" (and he looks different). He actually created another in-game hero - Blitzcrank! - The three-eyed crow is a demon spy of Swain (another powerful Noxian). - Warwick looks nothing like in the show. In-game Warwick is full-on werewolf. - Ekko's ultimate is time-reversing to 4 seconds before, but he also reverses all his HP lost (not like in the series). Edit: Was wrong about Orianna being the creation of Viktor.
@@plothole181 After so many of you pointed it out I went to further investigate it... And it seems like Singed made her. And I can't find any mention of Viktor's involvement. All those years I thought that Viktor was her creator (I can't even remember why, he doesn't even have any in-game quotes towards her). Guess I was wrong. Thanks!
As a former league player and jinx main, this show was amazing. There are a bunch of clues that suggest jinx might be alive. Some might be just fans coping, some could be solid. Cait looking at vent diagrams while holding a monkey bomb head. Pink/purple streak jetting out of explosion. Last shot of s2 is a blimp, and in s1e1 powder mentioned she's gonna ride those one day. Also in netflix's arcane after glow for s2 act 3, the cast and creators were asked if jinx was still alive? Ella Purnell sheepishly said "we dont know, we’ll leave that open to interpretation", then she hid behind the question card smiling. Anyway love your guys channel, looking forward to more reactions!
@@entropyfun no she can, the game isn't canon, ambessa for example is dead dead, but jinx is alive, the blimp is litterally the same from s1, when i say the same i mean the EXACT same like they reused the one they animated in s1 you can check it is exactly in the same place on the screen
"We'll show them...We will show them all..." and that you did, Riot...I applauded everyone who worked on this. It has officially gone down as a staple of animated history, and will be remembered for many decades to come, if not longer. You can sure as Hell bet that I'll be there for the next series, however long that'll take, and every series after. 💜
Also - the shield that Mel threw up to stop Maddie from ending Caitlyn wasn’t just a flat plane. Look closer - Mel totally englobes Maddie in that shield. That bullet didn’t just get a lucky ricochet back to Maddie’s head. There was no chance that bullet was not going to end her in some fashion. Frankly, she got off easy as far as I am concerned. She should have had more time to suffer for being a traitor.
Ekko literally gave up his own heaven to save his universe, because he is the savior everyone says he is. Imagine seeing the perfect version of your world, going "nah, I'm good." and saving an entire timeline that was doomed just because it's your own.
In the in universe lore it is believed that Yordles (Heimerdingers species) are immortal and never really die. If their "body" is destroyed they wake up in the place that makes them feel home and safe. So he may just be back in his own reality with some crazy memories. But also it could be years later for everyone else but seem like he just got disintegrated seconds before he wakes up in his own bed.
This is information I looked up after the series. Because I needed to know that Hiemerdinger was not really dead. Also I had assumed he was an in-game character.
16:27 I don’t think that will happen. I see the Vi drawer as a “chapters” closing for Powder. She has accepted VI’s death by keeping the blue balls in there, and adding the pendant means she would be keeping the visit from Alternate-Ekko a secret.
I really like them showing the Pianist because it ties back into what Ambessa said about Noxian beliefs and how 'every one of us is equal on the battlefield.'
Yeah….. that streak of pink… was when she got esploded and her eye ball shot out of her skull in her being blown up! We all just trying to drink a tall glass of Copium. (Just kidding!)
There are two opposing direction streaks of pink nearly simultaneously. She can’t be both, but she could be neither. Personally, it’s way better writing that she died selflessly. Hack writing to illicit such emotional response from the viewers with cheap high school creative writing level falsities.
I don’t think it’s hack writing when they repeatedly seeded the themes of an escape multiple times before the finale with quotes like “sometimes taking a step forward means leaving some things behind” or “the cycle only breaks when you find the will to walk away”.
@@Subbacultcha it’s absolutely hack writing to do it in the form of faked my death and ran away. On top of all that, It’s also gutless on the part of the writers. If you’re going to use a word like “seeding”, which implies intent on the part of the writers, I’m going to need you to cite a source where they have stated that’s what they did. Otherwise, you’re just inserting your interpretation retroactively on the alter of wishful thinking. Which is fine as long as we’re being honest about it.
Ok, my definition of hack writing* is different from your definition of hack writing. If you refuse to make the obvious connections between those quotes and the notion of Jinx leaving Piltover/Zaun behind, then I don't know what I can do for you. I think it's more reasonable to assume that a $250 million animation season that took three long years to would have intentionality on every single frame that you see than to assume that they didn't give much thought to those themes that are repeated several times. I think perhaps you should be honest that you are merely inserting your wishful interpretation as well. *I looked up the definition of hack writing and it "refers to writing that is produced quickly, with little regard for quality, creativity, or originality." I don't know what to say to someone who thinks Arcane fits that description.
Jinx is alive. Kait is looking for where she escaped. She even grins when she looks at the air ducts. Last shot is an airship. "One day I'm going to ride on one of those things" Powder, s1e1
@@bareakon That might be part of the explosion. At the start of episode 9 Jinx explodes the same bomb multiple times, each time there's purple lights at the beginning of the explosion. The third time she explodes the monkey, you even see a straight purple beam, just like at the end. (In case you wonder why there's purple lights coming from the bomb, at the start of the episode they show the insides of the bomb and it contains 3 elements: Chemtech (green), Hextech (blue) and Shimmer (purple!))
She grins after she hears Vi humming. Also, her family apparently is big into putting ventilation ducts into things so her looking at air ducts is also part of the family legacy.
35:16 she pulls the pin and the same pink shimmer streak comes out of the grenade just a second before the actual concussive blast . And again at 35:23. And again at 35:30 and again and again and again. It happening as she’s falling with Warwick means nothing. At best it’s a highly ambiguous scene
Okay, just got out of the shower where I do my best thinking. I know the internet hates this but I think we can all be right: Jinx is alive but it is not bad writing or a cop out. 1) The second season wasn't bad writing. It was put back together poorly after it was hacked to pieces to preserve the one story line, Jinx's storyline. Faking her death was her end from the very beginning. 2) Vi is not a villain but she is Jinx's antagonist. Vi caused everything. In the alternate universe Vi dies and things are perfect, almost. Believing Vi dead in season one, she has cut all times from "family" and becomes the most feared individual in the city (positive? no. Self earned accomplishment? Yes.) In the other universe she is with family but still tied to Vi and Vander fears she is wasting her talents. When she talks to Vi at the end of season one she says she believed she was dead but she never left her. Positive memories of Vi kept her alive, moved her to action. Vi in life? Anchor. Jinx's entrance in the finale is not that of the saviour. She came to die. She composed and relaxed and stands up like, "Let's do this." When she realizes they might win this thing she gets emotional involved but for Vi only. Jinx coming in clutch is a good memory for Vi to hold on and she can move on with her own life and happiness but only if Jinx is dead. 3) Was Jinx suicidal? Yes. Who stopped her? Ekko. Ekko gave Vi the info for the heist that ruined all their lives but, Ekko can go back in time. He doesn't have to live with his decisions. Vi does. Ekko can get a second chance. How? With the device Powder helps him build. I don't think it cheapens her selfless act by realizing she has a chance to survive and taking it. Also, if you think turning away from everything that has ever meant anything to you for their sake not your own isn't a sacrifice then, I'm sorry, but your family probably sucks. jk 4) Jinx's redeeming sacrifice is to ensure her sister's happiness by self exile. Vi believing Jinx is dead stops her from throwing her future away to find Jinx. If Kait believes Jinx is alive, she is in a position personally and professionally to keep that secret from her. Dishonest? Yes. But it is for Vi's own good. If you knew telling someone something would destroy their lives and forever keep happiness and peace from them would you tell them? I hope not. Keeping secrets is hard. It's meant to be. 5) I think that's it for the overarching stuff. I know the comment section is already filled with little clues not just to show she could do it and did do it but when and why she decided to do it. *Rereading I realize this shits on Vi a lot. Not intentional. Each's love for the other is toxic to themselves. They can't sisters again. They both deserve happiness but won't find it together. Imagine Thanksgiving and Jinx walks in with a turkey no one fears might be her sister-in-law's head, mid-conversation. "Oh, I'm so sorry. How did your mother die?'
Ambessa: "Noxus prizes strength above all else, defining it by three core principles. Vision! The top of the triangle. Charting a course and having the wisdom to navigate it. This form is your base, child. Your eyes see what others don't. Might! Bending your environment to your will. Your speed is improving, but eventually you need force." Caitlyn: "Too much force exposes you to risk." Ambessa: "Indeed. The last, is Guile! Phantoms. Tricksters. Mages. Absent honor. Absent accountability. Remember this, Caitlyn. Tunnels in your eyes. Lava in your veins. Shadows in your heart. This is the truth of combat! I've discovered a fourth principle. One that heightens all others. Sacrifice! The temper born of suffering. We understand it as others cannot. We are kin." This was Ambessa's monologue while training with Caitlyn, and it plays out completely during their final fight. Caitlyn sucker punches Ambessa, but her speed isn't enough to be decisive. Ambessa overpowers Caitlyn with her might, but leaves herself exposed in the process. Caitlyn sacrifices her eye to rob Ambessa of her protection, allowing Mel the mage to defeat her. A+ writing.
I also want to point out a minor thing about episode 7 that may make people a bit happier: Heimerdinger is a yordle, and yordles are sort of like League of Legends fae. In particular, they canonically (in League, at least) respawn if they die in their version of the Feywild, Bandle City. Donger, therefore, possibly survived being vanished! He might be stuck in the Good Ending AU, but he seemed happy there irrespective of being trapped :)
Jinx's entrance is the most hype moment of the entire show, second only to Sevika's fight against Smeech. Literally had me cheering at my screen when the techno started blasting.
Episode 7 destroyed me like no episode of tv ever. Just shatters you on so many levels. All that happiness is caused by the death of Vi. That explosion killing a kid probably ruined Jayces life. Cait will never meet her soul mate. Seeing who Powder should have been and Ekko being with her is just so sad. Ekko giving all that up to save his world is one of the most heroic things I've seen in fiction.
When the grenade goes off there is a streak of Jinx's Shimmer Speed into the ducts, the slide Cait looks at and smiles shows them and finally the airship is like the one Powder said she would one day fly on - Powder lives and faked her death so Vi could find happiness. I believe this with all my heart.
11:25 yes exactly, you actually can see a ghost of his position 4 seconds ago as you play, then just hit a button and blink there dealing damage and healing yourself
Ekko's ultimate in the game is the z-drive. When he gets the ability he has a shadow (an echo) following along behind him, when he hits his ult he jumps back to where the echo is (his position a few seconds ago), and regains a certain amount of health (doesn't fully reset to where he was necessarily). It's awesome, and awful, because I never played him and only rarely had one on my team :D
"I just need one person to have happiness, for like a bit. I don't care which side character" Hmm, well, Singed seemed pretty happy right at the end. Just a bit of war crimes and you too can have your daughter back, albeit a clockwork version.
BTW, Jinx isn't dead. She speed-jumped away from the explosion when she was in Warwick/Vander's arms when they fell with Jinx's grenade. You saw a pink/blue streak zip away as the explosion happened. Then Caitlyn saw the ducts on the map at the bottom of the tower on the blueprints and smiled. Keep in mind, in prison while Jinx was having a mental conversation with Silco, he says... "The cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away.". Later Jinx says to Vi, "You don't get it do ya sis... I'm always with you even when we're world's apart.".... Also, Jinx remarked that, " One day I'm gonna fly in one of those things."... meaning the blimp/Balloon-ship. So Jinx isn't dead, whether she's on the ship with Vi and Caitlyn, or not. The show wouldn't have shown and said all that for nothing.
What I really want is an update on your feelings. By now you’ll have worked out Jinx escapes and Caitlin works it out. Jinx does this to allow Vi to be happy. We need an update on your thoughts!
Jinx survived. Caitlyn noticing the cooling systems where Jinx fell at the end, while playing with the broken piece of the bomb that was likely recovered from within and the little smile at the end confirms it :D - There's also a flash durring the explosion/her death where it shows a jolt of pink like when she moves super fast flashing out from the explosion towards said cooling system tunnels. The final shot of the air-ship flying away like a callback to the very first episode where Powder says something along the lines of "I'm going to fly on one of those some day" - Jinx likely escaped, then hopped on a ship to leave everything behind, knowing that Vi and everyone else is better off without her. She "Broke the chain" of violence.
So what we learn from Singe is that if you commit enough war crimes against humanity you get the best ending. I can respect the fact that throughout the entire show he showed up he created problems, and girlbossed his way to happiness.
Ambessa didn't get her happy ending, and a lot of others either, good or bad, or many in between. The lesson is, sometimes bad people win, sometimes good people die. That's realistic. That's life, and however harsh, you have to accept it. Or fight it. That's what humans do, it's the pursuit not the end, as Viktor learnt too late XD
i know its not usual for the channel being mostly just series and movies, but after watching all of arcane be fun to have a video of you both reacting to some of the cinematics for league or looking at the champions that was used in arcane going through their actual lore and ingame abilities as a more special video to tie in with arcane
It says "The End" in Jinx scratch, and you can see in the schematics there's lots of tunnels in that shaft. I think she made it out. No corpse = no Death. Though no season 3 has me concerned that's the end of ol Jinxy.
I am 100% basing my lore on seeing videos of LOL characters playing piano, but I like to think the young noble is an early, pre-corruptedJhin...in the same way people (and George...and me), thought the mage in season 1 was Ryze.
Coming from a non League player of any capacity, and having only watched this show about 7 months ago... If you would've came up to me say...a year ago, and said that a show that took place in the League of Legends universe would be not only be my favorite animated show of all time, but my favorite show overall, I would've said you're absolutely insane...yet here I am making this comment declaring that this is indeed my absolute favorite show of all time. Now if you'll excuse me, I have an appointment with my bed, staring up at the ceiling for the next few weeks and a whole lotta tissues to deal with what I just watched. 💜
George, I swear I was thinking “wait, if I was Maddie I’d be pretty mad about getting done dirty” then she turns out to be the traitor, I promise I burst out laughing 😂😂😂😂
I think it's crazily laughable how a show with a guy who becomes close to a god, an adamantium wolf man, and multiple forms of magic, the one thing you refuse to come to terms with is "why can Ekko only go back 4 seconds????"
All the info about jinx surviving seems believable. Plus it makes sence with her being a massive poster child for LOL, that they have her show up for maybe 1 episode in the next story meetung whatever characters they decide to use. She did leave so why couldn't she show back up.
I don't think anyone who is a Champion in LoL is officially dead. Apparently Viktor is currently unavailable in League, which happened the last time Riot "killed off" a Champion in the lore (they just wanted to rework their gameplay).
With the end of an super awesome animated series down I'd love to see you on a RWBY reaction journey starting with the original colour trailers, "Red", "White", "Black" and "Yellow" to help gauge your interest and all! All available on youtube. To be clear they're not actual trailers and more character shorts/introductions for the four main badass ladies of the show as they attempt to explore and learn more about the world and themselves! Collectively they're only around 20 minutes so it would be a quick reaction of the trailers at least. Generally speaking, RWBY has kickass action with badass ladies, great designs, crazy weapons, a ton of charm and appealing characters, banger reaction worthy soundtracks, good laughs, romantic drama, cool villains, plenty of tense angst and an awesome unique fictional world!
Episode 1: Protect Maddie at all costs! This sweet ginger is too precious for this world! Episode 3 at the final scene as Maddies beating her chest in the salute: Well, I'll give this girl the benefit of the doubt, she might just not know what she's cheering for. Episode 4 in the beginning scene between her and Caitlyn: Hmm...I wasn't mad at Maddie because of the situation, I was suspicious of her. I thought either she genuinely had feelings for Caitlyn that Caitlyn didn't have back, or she had some ulterior motives. Episode 9 as soon as the reveal happened: *slams fist into my bed* I KNEW IT!!! YOU *****! 💜
Ekko's the ONLY character that was able to fight against Viktor's control had 4 husks on him, resisted longer than anyone (and most only had 1), then was still able to fight Viktor's control after being taken over That's WILL POWER
When I first saw the first episode with Mel on it, I said, "she is definitely a mage, she looks too cool and beautiful, she has to be a mage." Then I found out I was " wrong." (At the time)
Spoilers? I don't think so, but lat's play it safe. Read below For what's worth, Jinx is (almost certainly) alive, having forged her own death (as inspired by the Silco halucination). Look at the purple lightning when the grenade exploded. And Cait noticed that, by the ventilation shafts in the blueprints she was studying. That girl is a born detective.
That or go completely the other way with an horror theme one with a team of bounty hunters looking for monsters like Fiddlesticks, Dr. Mundo, Thresh, Hecarim, etc.
Ambessa - “This city isn’t big enough for two supervillains!” Jinx - “Oh you’re a villain alright! Just not a SUPER one!” Ambessa - “What’s the difference?” Jinx: - **takes the wheel of her airship as multi-colored bombs go off all over and the Fyrelights descend** “PRESENTATION!!!!!”
ARCANE has to be the greatest show ever made. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes! 🤯 It feels like after your done reading an Amazing Book! what is their to do Now?! The Penguin, From and now Arcane is finished too! What is their to watch now besides Silo? Anyone???
I know I'm probably not the first to mention this, but the Ekko and Jimx dance scene was animated at 4 frames a second. Alluding to how Ekko wants to "stay in one moment." The Easter eggs in this show are out of this world.
I have a feeling that ekko actually knows that jinx is alive and maybe even helped her to get out of piltover. We know that ekko is a lil crybaby and he looks very settled in his last scene, i think he would have been way more devastated if jinx would be dead especially after ep7....and that leads to my final hint to this.....thats why ekko only burns one paper at the end, not for jinx but for the fucking legend called heimerdinger
My thought is, episode 7 universe's is doomed. Because Powder has the crystals and now knows how to build a time machine. So she will try to use it to save Vi, create hextech, and destroy this reality.
An amazing show! Too bad the creators could no longer afford more seasons with the same actors! Also, George... you mention that this is similar to old school anime at the end where Jayce and Viktor are in the Arcane. You should check out Heavy Metal (1981). There is similar animation there as well. (Also a good movie, compelling stories, and a lot of fun!) And, by the way, there were a few shots of birds that to me, looked like they filmed the birds and just stuck them into the episode. Was that me or did anyone else feel that way too?
Cait got a happy ending, I suppose. So did Singed, so did Sevika, and Zaun broadly. I wouldn't call it their happiest ending, but they've levelled up and come out more or less ahead.
Episode 7 is my favourite one. The way I saw the fact they had no hextech in that universe. Is, after VI died because of it, Jayce was too disheartened to continue the research, it wasn't just a building in this universe, it was a life taken because of his research. Just my thoughts, but the whole episode is truly great and was breaking my heart all the way through
"I don't know how I feel" is exactly how I was the first time at the end. It's taken multiple re-watches and scouring fan theories on Jinx's ultimate fate that's gotten me to accept everything. And that's not at all a dig at the creators, they've managed to make something so complex and powerful and wonderful that it just overloaded my brain initially. Very well done.
this was an amazing series - and great reaction :) If you liked the Victor stuff - take a look at "Pantheon", a brilliant and underrated animated series (2 short seasons) about uploaded and artificial intelligence...
29:38 Ive seen many reactors exclaim in horror that people would have sex in a jail cell. Where did you think prisoners had sex with each other? I mean, it probably isn't anyone's first choice, (unless that's your kink, and no shade thrown) but it's gonna happen a lot
Regardless of Maddie being a traitor from the start, why would you feel bad for her when she was obviously a rebound Caitlyn showed zero affecton for? Like zero. That should have made it obvious there was something else at play - as otherwise maddie is just taking advantage of Caitlyn's grief and loneliness and deserves no sympathy either.
Jinx/Powder likes guys, confirmed! I mean, they can't ALL be gay. Of course, we knew from game dialog that Ekko had a childhood crush on her, but that could have been just him barking up the wrong tree. It's nice to get confirmation. I don't know, maybe there were clues Jinx is straight in the games, but I just had never heard. I don't play the games and had never looked it up. As for Vi and Caitlyn getting it on in the jail cell, it's very weird. I guess I get it. They're both just deciding they need it. I guess Vi realizes there's no use going after Jinx again? I guess she doesn't realize though that Jinx plans to kill herself? I don't know, it just seems weird to me. Wasn't there time to walk to a bed? But, well, good for them. :D Maddie was a baddie. :D I think she was working for Ambessa from the first moment we met her. 44:30 We see Caitlyn pull another Jinx move, hitting somebody mid-monologue, much like Jinx did to Vi in the tunnels, episode 5. Jinx survived the fall. Many clues are there, but the most obvious is the airship sailing off on its own, followed by the "Jinx flash" to end the series. She used her super-agility to survive the fall and explosion. I'm guessing Warwick probably survived too. He's not the easiest beast to kill. Whether any bit of Vander's mind is still in there, I don't know.
"I did appreciate your warmth." Coming from the coldest heart. I will fully admit to have cheered when that little ginger witch got hers. I won't lie and say I didn't put that on a slowed-down replay quite a few times. 💜
@@NickCTorres There were some hints that Maddie was a baddie all along. She was the first person to join in with the Noxian soldiers chest pounding to Ambessa's nomination of Cait. When Vi was seemingly captured, Ambessa told her something asking the lines of, "I owe you thanks. Your absence with Caitlyn left a void for me to exploit." Maddie was Ambessa's plant.
@@NickCTorres there are two impact frames at the moment of Maddie firing (in white over black) showing her with a large grin, symbolizing that she was enjoying the kill. Maddie was never authentic.
I've wanted to rant about this.. Viktor went back in time to other dimensions to give Jayce this rune so that in the future Jayce could be the one to stop Crazy Viktor, but Jayce getting this rune was the entire reason him and Viktor went on this path.. Not only that, but Viktor literally could have just told Jayce what was going to happen from the start and could have prevented everything entirely.. So are you telling me, Viktor caused ALL of this, just so that all the other Viktors in other dimensions could have a friend? Bruh
I've thought about this as well, but the conclusion I got to was that hextech was going to be created one way or another. If not Jayce, then someone else was going to invent it sooner or later, so Victor chose to become a sort of a warning of the effects of hextech as well as he could
Time travel is rarely done well in storytelling. It can be done in satisfying ways, sure, but it always boils down to some version of "It's Magic. I Ain't Gotta Explain S***."
@@iampotsataja But that's the issue, I know it's a show and it's nitpicky, but Viktor from the ruined universe was incredibly powerful, and smart. If the goal was to warn people of what hextech could do (mind you, magic always existed and all Jayce did was create a way to incorporate it mechanically) there was so many ways he could have done that without causing all the backlash. It is very unlikely that Viktor intended to do what you suggested. Multiverses are incredibly unlikely to get the same results unattended. Similar to the universe Ekko and Heimer were in where hextech was never made, you could get universes where hextech was made but was never abused, or universes where hextech does get abused but Jayce dies before he can confront Viktor. Scenarios like that would not naturally lead Viktor towards warning people or setting an example. Something else to put into perspective: while League of Legends skins are not canon, they are a part of the multiverse, so that should set an example of how drastically different a universe can be to Arcane's universe. It's definitely the fault of show being rushed to an end. I know a lot of people would say I'm taking the show too seriously but this is how I enjoy shows, and strangely Viktor is either incredibly selfish or a dumbass.
@@NolsHub I get what you mean. I too was not a fan of the last 2 episodes for how much they crammed into it (some comment somewhere said that the last ep had half of its content cut). Regarding Viktor... he could've explained to Jayce what to do better without causing a whole incident as well before he sent him back, that's for sure. Perhaps he wasn't as omnipotent/omnicient as we think. Being able to only affect certain things, at certain times. He also did mention fate in ep 6, making some things perhaps predestined. So as I was writing this comment I came up with a theory. The time loop was something Viktor couldn't break out of. He had to become corrupted, to destroy everything, to come to the conclusion that it was wrong. And going back in time and changing too many things would've created a paradox where he went back and chaged things so much that he wouldn't have created timetravel to go back. So he needed Ekko to invent an impossible time anomaly in a different universe to break out of that loop, that he himself couldn't affect without creating a paradox. An excuse? Sure, but something I, personally, could live with.
"I just want one person to have a happy ending"
Well you got your wish. Singed got his happy ending.
Singed: "Just according to keikaku"
To me it was more like: "We always played like this as kids, she always won by shooting in these places. I'll dodge them and hope it works"
My theory is Jayce wasn't sent to the good universe with Ekko and Heimerdinger because he's not around in that universe:
Either he died in the same explosion as Vi, or Victor wasn't there to prevent his suicide (He was there in prime universe because he was intrigued by Jayce's research, presumably less intrigued in this universe after it killed a teenage girl)
George: "I just feel bad for Maddie!"
Everyone who has seen it before: You won't here soon...
Yeah. I didn’t actually know it, but Maddie always felt like a plant.
You want one character with a happy ending? Well, Singed did. The literal war criminal got everything he wanted, including his daughter.
There's no justice in any world. Kissinger lived to be 100 and never faced any justice for his crimes.
yay... 😮💨
Eh. He got a monkey's paw. That simulacrum of his daughter turns out not to be what he intended.
@@Invader_Rin13 Everyone just knew that chasing Singed is a bad idea, and we saw him farming jungle in S2E1 while everyone else was teamfighting. Bro's just game accurate :P
So, a few interesting points (and some answers to your questions):
- In-game Victor is a mechanical genious who's fixated on "glorious evolution" (and he looks different).
I am like 99% sure that victor did not make Orianna.
Noxian invasion of ionia hasnt happened yet it was just raum foreshadowing, swain is just a noble atp
Oriana is Singed's daughter, so per Arcanes version of the lore, Singed created her, but not without Victor's help essentially.
@@parzivalkni110 Didn't Dr Revick (the not-Singed version) make her in old canon?
They´re doing the marvel thing. They don´t show her body so they can bring here back if they want to.
Came here to share this. Happy to see someone else share it first, means I'm not alone in this hope.
Arcane lore is League lore, so Jinx can't be dead if she's still in the game.
@@entropyfun no she can, the game isn't canon, ambessa for example is dead dead, but jinx is alive, the blimp is litterally the same from s1, when i say the same i mean the EXACT same like they reused the one they animated in s1 you can check it is exactly in the same place on the screen
@gby139 I don't think Ambesa is dead. She might be passed out.
Vander's canonical hard-counter is blue-haired girls with blue gems. He's 0 for 3 against them.
Btw Maddie was most likely a Noxium plant working for Ambessa from the beginning.
It wasn't until I rewatched E6 that it could even occur to me, but Ambessa and Vi's conversation took on new meaning after seeing E9.
Noxian*
Also - the shield that Mel threw up to stop Maddie from ending Caitlyn wasn’t just a flat plane. Look closer - Mel totally englobes Maddie in that shield. That bullet didn’t just get a lucky ricochet back to Maddie’s head. There was no chance that bullet was not going to end her in some fashion.
Frankly, she got off easy as far as I am concerned. She should have had more time to suffer for being a traitor.
Makes sense. While Piltover and Zaun aren't exactly worth fighting over, Noxus has agents in Piltover to have a hold on them politically
She even says she's a new recruit when she meets Vi
Jayce fought and survived Hell to save his world, Ekko gave away heaven to save his world. Heckin tears.. T.T
Ekko literally gave up his own heaven to save his universe, because he is the savior everyone says he is. Imagine seeing the perfect version of your world, going "nah, I'm good." and saving an entire timeline that was doomed just because it's your own.
The boy savior 🥲
Same with jayce. He always dreamed of living like a caveman in a dark souls world.
Well it’s not his heaven tho lol
@@Rlogsdon100Renegade vagabond mage Jayce is definitely the best Jayce.
@@Blynat He's not a champion? Inconceivable! Wait, I just looked it up. He is! Role:mage/support, Difficulty:high.
So basically, they’re digimon! :D
@@Blynat He is a playable character. An absolute annoying menace with his little turrets I might add.
Some massive hints are more discernible upon rewatch about Jinx’s apparent fate. The ending might not be what you initially think.
Yeah….. that streak of pink… was when she got esploded and her eye ball shot out of her skull in her being blown up!
And blink and you'll miss it: A bright pink streak leading towards one of the vents, a split-second before the bomb goes off
@@bareakon That might be part of the explosion.
Also, if you think turning away from everything that has ever meant anything to you for their sake not your own isn't a sacrifice then, I'm sorry, but your family probably sucks. jk
4) Jinx's redeeming sacrifice is to ensure her sister's happiness by self exile.
Your speed is improving, but eventually you need force."
Caitlyn: "Too much force exposes you to risk."
Ambessa: "Indeed. We are kin."
This was Ambessa's monologue while training with Caitlyn, and it plays out completely during their final fight.
A+ writing.
Oh snap, I hadn't clocked this. Amazing!
40:02 This guy with the two moles, it's shown across the episode as a beloved father who send his kid away and chooses to fight
In terms of Singed costing so much just for that, one has to wonder just how far a parent would go to save their child.
I also want to point out a minor thing about episode 7 that may make people a bit happier:
Heimerdinger is a yordle, and yordles are sort of like League of Legends fae.
One nice touch: Ekko's ability goes back 4 seconds, and the scene with him and Powder dancing is animated on 4s, meaning every 4th frame is different.
Came to type this lol
Episode 7 destroyed me like no episode of tv ever. Just shatters you on so many levels.
All that happiness is caused by the death of Vi. That explosion killing a kid probably ruined Jayces life. Cait will never meet her soul mate.
Seeing who Powder should have been and Ekko being with her is just so sad.
Ekko giving all that up to save his world is one of the most heroic things I've seen in fiction.
You guys should legit do an arcane rewatch. That would be the funniest thing ever.
All started with kids doing a heist and turned into End of Evangelion
As someone who hated maddie from the moment she appeared on screen, the reveal was vindication.😂
I noticed George's "nerd spren" shirt before, but Simone's Waxillium reference caught me off guard haha
53:24 Simone what Ekko saw was a flashback to when he fought Jinx on the bridge and almost killed her.
"I just need one person to have happiness, for like a bit. I don't care which side character" Hmm, well, Singed seemed pretty happy right at the end. Just a bit of war crimes and you too can have your daughter back, albeit a clockwork version.
"They just won't let Vander rest in peace"
5 seconds later...
39:00 , the hextech rail gun was one of my favorite gadgets in this show.
Yeah, the Caitlyn scene definitely implies they didn't find a body, though I think the smile is after vi starts humming.
The scene of Ekko and Powder dancing is in 4 FPS. The limit on Ekko's time travel is 4 seconds.
“One day I’m gonna fly in one of those”
…
“… you just need to learn to walk away”
(I hope I got the quotes exactly correct. But if ya know you know)
"I just feel bad for Maddie" - fool lol
The three eyed raven following the Noxian ships is a reference to a character. Swain.
i know its not usual for the channel being mostly just series and movies, but after watching all of arcane be fun to have a video of you both reacting to some of the cinematics for league or looking at the champions that was used in arcane going through their actual lore and ingame abilities as a more special video to tie in with arcane
It says "The End" in Jinx scratch, and you can see in the schematics there's lots of tunnels in that shaft. I think she made it out. No corpse = no Death. Though no season 3 has me concerned that's the end of ol Jinxy.
they showed the venting system in the last scene and its hinting that jinx got away right before the explosion
I am 100% basing my lore on seeing videos of LOL characters playing piano, but I like to think the young noble is an early, pre-corruptedJhin...in the same way people (and George...and me), thought the mage in season 1 was Ryze.
Jinx is alive, she is on that airship (at the end). She broke the cycle and walked away. Well...flew.
42:01 I love how Jinx enters the fray like frigging Megamind.
Love you guys and Yes, Ekko ultimate ability in the game is to go back in the position he was 4 seconds ago :)
"One day, I'm going to ride in one of those things" - Powder
"No matter what I do, I just can't seem to die" - Jinx.
That's some good foreshadowing.
The french song translates to 'My best enemy (is you)'
George, I swear I was thinking “wait, if I was Maddie I’d be pretty mad about getting done dirty” then she turns out to be the traitor, I promise I burst out laughing 😂😂😂😂
13:57 the shoe drop is Ekko chooses to leave this perfect universe anyway.
I don't think anyone who is a Champion in LoL is officially dead. Apparently Viktor is currently unavailable in League, which happened the last time Riot "killed off" a Champion in the lore (they just wanted to rework their gameplay).
Ambessa is a champion currently.
YOU *****!
💜
Ekko's the ONLY character that was able to fight against Viktor's control
had 4 husks on him, resisted longer than anyone (and most only had 1), then was still able to fight Viktor's control after being taken over
That's WILL POWER
The boy savior!
4 second rewind for the z-drive, 4 fps for the dance sequence.
When I first saw the first episode with Mel on it, I said, "she is definitely a mage, she looks too cool and beautiful, she has to be a mage."
Then I found out I was " wrong." (At the time)
"Poor Maddie."
😂
"Wax in his basment" don't worry no Iron Eyes here!
You joke, but I would watch the endless Arcane reaction loop.
with regard to episode 7.. Vi's death was the base violence necessary for change.
“Poor Maddie” lol
That battle was cops and civillians vs people who try to out-war crime each other.
Spoilers? I don't think so, but lat's play it safe.
Read below
For what's worth, Jinx is (almost certainly) alive, having forged her own death (as inspired by the Silco halucination). Look at the purple lightning when the grenade exploded.
And Cait noticed that, by the ventilation shafts in the blueprints she was studying.
That girl is a born detective.
I want them to do the Yordles next, do a goofy lighthearted series that has moments of sentimentality.
That or go completely the other way with an horror theme one with a team of bounty hunters looking for monsters like Fiddlesticks, Dr. Mundo, Thresh, Hecarim, etc.
Jinx is not dead.
You can see her pink shimmer trace zipping out of the explosion in the end.
*Jinx makes a whole flashy entrance*
Megamind: I taught her well 😌
Ambessa - “This city isn’t big enough for two supervillains!”
Jinx - “Oh you’re a villain alright! Just not a SUPER one!”
Ambessa - “What’s the difference?”
Jinx: - **takes the wheel of her airship as multi-colored bombs go off all over and the Fyrelights descend**
“PRESENTATION!!!!!”
"Just for that"?!?!?! you mean his child yeah he set the world a blaze to save his daugther. What parent wouldn't
ARCANE has to be the greatest show ever made. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes! 🤯
It feels like after your done reading an Amazing Book! what is their to do Now?!
The Penguin, From and now Arcane is finished too!
What is their to watch now besides Silo?
Anyone???
Heimerdinger is technically just temporarily displaced...
Season 1= Dance to the Death
Season 2= Dance till Death do us apart
Cait got a happy ending, I suppose. So did Singed, so did Sevika, and Zaun broadly. I wouldn't call it their happiest ending, but they've levelled up and come out more or less ahead.
If CineBinge is now just a watching Arcane, I’m down for it! The best series on TV.
Episode 7 is my favourite one. The way I saw the fact they had no hextech in that universe. Is, after VI died because of it, Jayce was too disheartened to continue the research, it wasn't just a building in this universe, it was a life taken because of his research. Just my thoughts, but the whole episode is truly great and was breaking my heart all the way through
I mean, Jayce almost killed himself in the main timeline without a kid dying. I am pretty sure he went through with it in this universe.
I hated how much Viktor's armor resembled the robots from I Robot with Will Smith.
SOB Singed was the OP villain anddddddd won.
I can't believe Ekko saved the day with the power of the AutoSave.
I'm still not sure how I feel about.
40:04 Careful what you wish for
I know one thing for sure. You 2 are banging "stromae & pomme - ma meilleure ennemie" non stop.
this was an amazing series - and great reaction :)
If you liked the Victor stuff - take a look at "Pantheon", a brilliant and underrated animated series (2 short seasons) about uploaded and artificial intelligence...
Maddie was a baddie.
VOLCANOO MAAAAAANNNNNN
"I did appreciate your warmth."
Coming from the coldest heart.
I will fully admit to have cheered when that little ginger witch got hers. I won't lie and say I didn't put that on a slowed-down replay quite a few times.
💜
more like the warmest, she was completely authentic and got the betrayed one here, by both Caith and the script
It's so tragic...despite all the good...Powder still can't go without some form of loss even in a reality where almost everything is perfect.
@@iampotsataja Ekko is called "The Boy who SHATTERED time" after all, not the boy who reverses time. I can get behind your explanation^^
Bravo.
