I read a great comment on the original video, from a former LEO. He said that with the Mother, their standard solution for that type of issue would be to give her a task so that she feels like shes in the know, and that shes helping. So have her write down names and numbers of everyone her daughter knows. Just anything to keep her mind occupied and let her feel like shes helping. And that wouldve been a great way to handle things and help that poor Woman through this situation.

I think she was drunk and cops knew it because she wasn’t in her right mind. News travels fast in a small town so I think she self medicated.

    • @basicallyno1722

@suzanna self-medicated before coming to the crime scene and finding out? That doesn’t seem likely. Either way, the cops didn’t know how to socialize or communicate well. They just had her out there screaming. They could’ve paid some lip service and made her feel like they were doing all they could and waiting on special investigators to come, explain the process. Those guys sucked.

The situation with the mother would’ve seriously benefited from someone trained in de-escalation; someone who could talk to her while walking her away from the crime scene, maybe give her some answers or take the time to explain why they can’t give her details yet. That would help calm her down and let the other officers work the scene.

Turned 21 while visiting a friend in a very small town in Wyoming . Had no experience but my friend’s parents really wanted me to bartend at their little bar. It was the watering hole for guys who worked at the feed lots. These guys arrived as nice, respectful family men. A few hours later they were obnoxious drunks who wanted to play grab ass with a young bartender who could be their daughter. Quit the job, swore not to be a drinker or drugger and went on to go to college and have a successful life. Good lesson learned young!

I feel like a lot of the mothers reaction could have been prevented by just one of the officers taking her to the side, as soon as she got there, to explain to her that her daughter is deceased and how they needed to handle the crime scene in order to find out what happened. A little empathy goes a long way. Imagine finding out your kid has been in an accident and everyone who knows anything about it just stares at you in silence or ignores you. Honestly, for having just found out her daughter was dead, murdered as she had to see the blood everywhere, and she had no idea what happened and wasn't being told anything b/c the investigation can't be jeopardized, I thought she held it together better than most. I expected her to completely freak-out, push officers aside and go inside the car. Remember how the uvalde mother who broke through the police line TWICE and was handcuffed because she was trying to get inside the school? This mother was also clear headed enough to ask about things the police actually needed to do in their investigation like running the serial number of the gun that was found in order to see who it was registered to. Actually, an officer should have taken the mom aside and explained that she would definitely be told everything and all her questions answered but this couldn't be done at the scene because doing so might end up jeopardizing holding the person responsible for what he/she did. THAT a mom would understand. I think the fact that they didn't physically remove her from the scene is probably a good indication that she wasn't freaking out nearly as much as other moms/parents have. I believe a parent freaking out would be aggressive. This mother seemed to be more assertive vs aggressive. Fuck. I think she held it together much better than I would have and I'm rarely assertive and never aggressive (except once and that's when I found out an adult had physically hurt my 8 yr old daughter (broken bones and an accusation of sex assault). I lost it. I didn't own a gun, but I tried to buy one from three places. None of the 3 managers at the 3 stores (2 pawn shops and 1 gun shop) would sell me a gun of any type. I am sure that it was obvious what my intentions were. Even now, almost 20 years later, I am still not sure I should be grateful for those 3 managers/supervisors recognizing that they shouldn't allow me to leave with any type of firearm. I still think the A-hole who hurt my daughter deserves a bullet right between his thighs. I can't even imagine if he'd have killed her.

As DV survivor, it means so much that Bruce continually says "Don't use Violence against Women/Child PERIOD". I swear almost every episode Bruce says similar messaging and I have to say that is so powerful and I really admire it. You would be amazed at the lawyers, who defend abusers and will actually engage in the same abusive behavior as their client (abuse by litigation, verbal harassment). My (female) lawyer and I had to make several motions to the court in order to stop the harassment as my abuser's lawyer was harassing both myself and my lawyer. She was flabbergasted. She had not experienced anything like it and I felt very guilty for bringing her into my hell but it was also validating to have someone else say "this is not right". I just really admire real individuals, who stand up for what is right and helps promote the message that any type of violence is not acceptable in a relationship. Period. Thank you Bruce! 🖤

We went on a few dates, introduced eachother to the families... out of nowhere on a date he said that he beat his first wife and has like 1st degree assault on his record. I cut the relationship off that second. If a person has a history of cheating or violence, no thanks. Im 1/2 your size. Im not taking a punch. After I walked away from the relationship after explaining this he tried to break into my apartment a few months later. Dont let hurt people hurt you. I grew up in an abusive home (he was a cop) and my first memory was of him trying to kill my mom. He also abused me as well. I put an end to it when I (100 lb female) sent him on a 2 week stay at the ICU. Luckily, a friend of the family told him to not press charges on me or he would pay his team of lawyers to defend me in court. Bastard never touched mom or me again. But I still have PTSD.
While I have picked some lousy guys, they've not been physically abusive. Still, took myself out of the dating pool because I don't need any drama in my life. Now it's me, my cat and dog. Living a peaceful life cannot be appreciated enough.

There’s a typical way to act and there are complexities of several combinations that blunt emotions and /or logic to a certain influential percentage.
Unfortunately or fortunately when a person has been through a series of tragedies in life that have resulted in perpetual loss they may do the opposite and be unusually calm and despondent.
It really depends on someone’s personality and how their resiliency or lack thereof shines through in their emotional reactivity. Substances and recent experiences can effect this too.
There’s not a true “well” I agree but accusing the police of covering up for someone is off the cuff regardless and may speak towards some ideological fringe or existing paranoia that is not born of the situation.
I’ve seen wild reactions from seemingly level headed intelligent people in the midst of tragedy & emergency. I’ve also seen unusual willingness to take orders from those typically opposed to being ordered around.
We as a society have an issue with the binary comparison of extremes and discounting that these are on opposite ends of a spectrum.
Placing extremes next to each other as an either or without considering the middle causes error in accuracy

When my daughter was born, she laid very still on my chest when they placed her there and wasn't breathing well. They took her away immediately and from then on, I felt so much anxiety and distress not knowing how she was. A nurse came in my room, and I asked how my daughter was and she said, a doctor will be in soon. That certainly did not ease my anxiety but increased it. The next time a nurse entered my room, I asked again and was given the same response. So instead, I asked the nurse, is she breathing? To which she told me that they had her on oxygen. Ok great. Shes alive. now I can breathe just a bit better. How hard is it to just simply say someone is alive? Leaving a mother in the dark is so cruel. That kind of stress can cause a situation to escalate in so many different kinds of ways depending on how an individual copes with their stress. Darci Bass, I am so sorry your baby was taken away from you. I am appalled at how law enforcement handled your situation. Justice was the least that could be done here.

First off, nobody ever came in the middle of the night to cruise endlessly miles of dirt road and blacktop… but often someone else in the house would need to use the car later (you can’t just walk down to the corner store for a loaf of bread or pack of smokes) and it was just was easier to hop in and use the car than to wake someone up, or track them down on the back 40 to see if they forgot the key in their pocket…

Then my sister met her and they talked for a bit. You know, how are you, what are you doing now, bla, bla.
Then a month or so later, our cousin reconciles with her family and moves back home.
The kicker? her family somehow found out, maybe even from our cousin, that my sister talked to our cousin for a bit.
And somehow that was perceived as my sister taking our cousin's side in 'the conflict'.
So, our cousin was back home, and her family that we visited once a week before, hasn't talked to us since, which is decades ago now.

Matthew followed Livye in his buddy's stolen truck. Matthew tells Montana that Livye is dead before actually killing her (the phone is in the truck with no blood on the phone or truck). Matthew kills Livye while Montana is telling Cindy about the message from Matthew. Montana doesn't want to go there cause she's scared of Matthew having been recently threatened and choked, but Matthew wouldn't shoot his mom, so Cindy goes in Montana's car. Matthew won't leave cause he's wasted drunk and too heavy for his mom to move.

@adoral.libertucci2647 This!!!! Why do women not realize this. My mother is a NICU nurse and once had a woman whose baby was in the NICU who’d visit with her 4 years old son. Whenever he didn’t get his way or like what his mother said, he’d slap, punch, or bite her. He was neurologically typical, no syndrome, just a little 💩. My mother finally said to her, “What are you going to do when he’s 16 and twice your size?” “If my son did that to me, he’d do it once and it would be the last thing he’d ever do.” The mother’s answer was that her son didn’t mean it and he was just acting out. At that point my mother had lost any respect for her and told her she deserved whatever he did to her in the future because she was creating a monster and that she was also responsible for any future women her son abused. The stupid woman just stammered about how he was so small and just a baby. Yeah, that’s how you create an absolutely worthless individual.

there are just as many "enabling fathers" as there are "coddling mothers". so many "real men" will pat their son on the back for having sex with a high number of females, getting said females pregnant cuz men love for their lineage to continue, for getting in brawling fights, for getting absolutely trashed on alcohol, for being able to shoot a gun etc....they turn the other way when their son beats on a woman because they feel the woman has earned that smack on the mouth for back talking or not doing as she was told. so for clarity sake, you should edit your comment to read "coddling mothers AND ENABLING FATHERS".

@34rd-uv9nc Didn’t hear anything about the murderer’s father. Only about his coddling mother. So how would talking about his father that we know nothing about be relevant. Such a dumb question.

@@adoral.libertucci2647Blaming mothers only for their children's behavior is an old, outdated position in psychology (see "refrigerator mothers" supposedly causing autism). It's ignorant to say "girls, take note" without also adding: Absent and/or abusive fathers are also strongly linked to their children's misbehavior - boys, take note.

An officer that knew her should have gathered them and told her what they could and beg her to not damage the case against someone. But they left her storming around and didn't de-escalate. Callous treatment

Yep, maybe they choose to stay stone cold as to not escalate but it comes across as harsh given the cicumstances.

Yeah. I understand trying to delay the notification, but once she was there, he should have taken her aside and told her straight up. The delay comes off as cruel and callous.

If you want to see some hilarious self-snitching, check out the Dan Markel murder case, specifically the Adelson family’s recorded jailhouse calls. And these people have money, education, and a lawyer in their family.

Love the channel and the perspectives of the law that are raised. This channel educates folks on all the things your parents never knew or knew to convey.
As you stated in a previous video, one does not have to deliver the death blow to be eligible for a murder indictment. The mere involvement in the act that leads to a death makes one equally culpable. Understanding that premise, how is it the people convicted in the January 6 riot are not also charged with the deaths that occurred during the riot?

Because the only person who died not from natural causes was the girl that a cop literally executed. She had no weapon and the only thing she was guilty of is trespassing and maybe not even that since the doors were opened by officers.

My 5 y.o. niece was killed when some idiots shot up the wrong house back in 2014 (I've come to terms with it, she's our angel now). Losing one's child is the most unnatural & heartbreaking thing we can go through as humans! I can tell you that that girl's mom wasn't thinking rationally at all! There is no rationale when it comes to the death of someone's child, no matter how old they are!
