Wow, such a great and charismatic character, it's always not boring(unlike many players) to listen to, he speaks his mind and adding his well-known quick witted sense of homour
Love Andy and i was so bummed when Federer beat him in that 5 set classic at wimbledon. Andy is a class act with a great sense of humor. It's never boring listening to someone this insightful and articulate.
He was the only man outside of federer and Nadal to win a grand slam in a period from 2003 to 2010, excluding the AO that Novak won. He is the last American to win at our U.S. Open, so that makes him a top tier player, as far as I'm concerned.
Andy was great player an the humble bond with Roger.. top guy.......need more like him in todays game.........he was in a tough era/ but uk loved Andy roddick.
I was Andy's fan before I became a Federer fan. It pains me immensely even today that Andy came so close to winning Wimbledon three times and yet he was denied by Roger. I feel it was pure bad luck that did him in as opposed to Roger's superiority on those days. I would have celebrated more had Andy won the closest final.
It's interesting to hear his opinion between Wimbledon and US Open... as a tennis fan for a long time, most people definitely do consider Wimbledon to be THE grand slam... because it's the oldest and most prestigious, the all whites, the "poshness" surrounds the whole tournament, but in reality, it's actually player's LEAST favourite slam, as players don't play on grand the other 11 months of the year! Grass courts are hard to find, there's only Wimbledon and less than a handful of lead up tournaments. However, as for the other three grand slams... French Open is the hardest to win, clay is a court least amount of players around the world grew up on, therefore not many have mastered the art, but clay is actually one of the most integral part of the tour, but French open gets the least attention. US Open and Australian open are very similar, both are alot more "casual" both are equally popular.
Would've been great if Andy corrected the dude on WimbleTon. Interesting how the older fella never heard Andy joke around when that's all I remember from 100% of his interviews. Bright audience.
On the contrary, Nadal hardly had to play Roger in his true prime (and when he did, Roger owned him). Most of the times Andy had to face Roger were when Roger was in his prime. Look at Roger in 2007 - neither Nadal nor Djokovic would have done any better against Roger than Andy did during that year (except Nadal at the French).
Americans sure talk a lot about American players like Sampras and Agassi, even though their records have long been bested by Roger Federer (the GOAT) and others like Nadal, lol.
Always liked Andy not just for his game but for his personality. Brutally honest, funny and very intelligent.
have a big unconditional liking for andy roddick..very charismatic guy and player, he was/is always entertaining..
In 2024 , Roddick is still adding to his chapter in the history book of tennis. Living Legend! 🎾
❤️❤️❤️ Andy Roddick. I would love to see Andy being the commentator at all the grand slams. He is the best!
His podcast is well done and entertaining. He has knowledge of the tour and many insights.
The '09 final cemented his place at Wimbledon as a People's Champion. Legend and fantastic player
That volley in the tie break where he put too much on it & the ball going long, was the turning point in that final. He had fed beat until that point.
What a great man.
SAYS YOU. HA HA HA!!!
India Bliss
Are you joking right?
Holy shit, look who it is! I didn't realize it was you! Har har har.
+India Bliss You must have not watched him play much. He was a complete douchebag most of the time on court.
India Bliss How??
it's always great to listen to andy's interviews. he's articulate and thoughtful.
This man is just precious. We miss you,A Rod.Love you forever.
Wow, such a great and charismatic character, it's always not boring(unlike many players) to listen to, he speaks his mind and adding his well-known quick witted sense of homour
"imagine your worst day at work, and there''s a camera there"
Amazing human being and great representative for U.S tennis.
Love Andy and i was so bummed when Federer beat him in that 5 set classic at wimbledon. Andy is a class act with a great sense of humor. It's never boring listening to someone this insightful and articulate.
Yeah my heart ❤️ was totally broken!
I just wanted to cry! Andy is the best!
Great personality! ❤️❤️❤️
Imagine if Federer plays golf too, and beats andy all the time
Arthur Yagami Hahahahaha
Lol
"35 miles.." that was hilarious xD
What a humble Guy
Awe that last audience member was so sweet. 70 years in the tennis world. Wow that's amazing!
I've always thought he'd be a good Tennis Analyst!
Great player. So unfortunate to have played during Federer's prime.
And Nadal's.
joydivsion77 yeah
He was not a top tier player. He would not have done well against Sampras or Agassi or the previous decade.
He was the only man outside of federer and Nadal to win a grand slam in a period from 2003 to 2010, excluding the AO that Novak won. He is the last American to win at our U.S. Open, so that makes him a top tier player, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm a Federer fan but Roddick deserved to win Wimbledon in '09... should have retired a multiple slam winner.
STIFLER
lol where's his mom ?
Agreed
😂
Lol i have thought that since 2003
Andy was great player an the humble bond with Roger.. top guy.......need more like him in todays game.........he was in a tough era/ but uk loved Andy roddick.
We miss you Andy!
We all miss you yeah liked his fast service

Indeed, he deserved one ... especially the one in 2009.
Amazing, Andy! Talking about intelligent tennis player - this is my idol.
andy is awesome !
5:09 I didn't know there was a slam called Wimpleton
That last gentleman was so sweet

Andy you are awesome
Good luck
is he with that supermodel wife still? she was in that movie with Ben Stiller
ohhh he is smart and sensible
What's this place Wimpleton the guy @5:03 is talking about? Is it near Wimbledon?
WimbleTON. Oh god no
Wimble"t"on
UGHHH
Classic
He isn't the first American I've seen who pronounced it like that.
He's not the first and he won't be the last.
the inevitable "wimbleton" person at 5:03 -.-
HAHA, I thought the same thing
theres always one
Why does this video look like it's from the 70's haha.
A Rod's the man.
Would've been great if Andy corrected the dude on WimbleTon. Interesting how the older fella never heard Andy joke around when that's all I remember from 100% of his interviews. Bright audience.
I don't know if its true or not ? Andy Roddick himself asked Reebok to sponsor him while he was not even PRO.
why did you get hair plugs?
35miles😂😂😂
Andy needs a play-by-play gig on a major tournament. Witty and cerebral. As for money, he's ratings platinum.
Wimbledon not ton!
I love me a ton of Wimbledon!
I wish he'd won just one more
Organically we've come to an end here? Implying the guy is gonna die tomorrow, wth.
All of his comment are smart
I just finished watching the 2009 wimbledon match.
He could have won that match but he made errors on crucial points.😢
Why do some Americans say "Wimbleton"?
So lucky Roger got to make a career on beating this guy. Nadal had to make his career on beating Roger and Novak. Much harder task.
ROGER FEDERER HAD THE ANSWER FOR STIFFLER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Americans sure talk a lot about American players like Sampras and Agassi, even though their records have long been bested by Roger Federer (the GOAT) and others like Nadal, lol.
They are still great tenis players, extraordinary even
Turns out andy is a decent guy.
ofc he is
Roddick is not aging well at all.
I'm sure you're a Calvin Klein model.
Federer has achieved more than Pete and Andre!
+kk8866 You don't say.
White glasses dude is so pretentious
I like the man, but Conor McGregor would wreck him within ten seconds.
+Conor McGoat Since when did Roddick proclaim to be an MMA fighter..He would get wrecked in MMA just like Conor would get wrecked in a tennis match
Myrsa
Conor would jump the net and would go straight for him. Roddick would not finish the tennis match.
+Conor McGoat Diaz would protect him and choke the living shit out of Conor.
Real Fitness Talk
Conor would KO them stiff both at the same time.
Conor McGoat .. He didn't though did he
Very bald. He can’t play without hair. He is 30 looking like he is 55 or 60
