He then kept collecting lunar tear over and over in front of her hut for years and now 9S came there to mourn 2B at the same place several years ago that Kainé mourn her grandmother. For me this is the scene that connect both games the most memorable way. TOO MANY STUFF AT THE SAME TIME, AT THE SAME PLACE

That's the reason why A2 severs the infected arm in ending C and eventually hacks in and saves 9S. Note: During the fight against eve, '9S' was infected but he uploaded his data into those machine's network, so the infected '9S' dies & the backed up data of 9S lives, then the story continues to epilogue. *Simple explanation*: he gets infected during fight against those multiple infected '2B' models.

You never really know what happens after death, all you can do is believe. I hope everyone can see there loved ones once their journey is over. The measure of a great game is whether it can make you feel and this game has done that.
Chunky Tubs This game does an excellent job at doing that, and now that I know the story of the original NieR, this area carries and even greater weight. Absolutely splendid. Hats off to Yoko Taro.
After yes but during there have been hundreds of barbaric experiments and quite a bit of life lost in its study basically they all seem to end in a dark void that’s about the only link since the causes were so varied sooo seems like the space after ya die is a black infinite sea of nothing at least according to the accounts I might be wrong (we will never know till we get there )

For a game where the characters aren't supposed to show emotion, this scene encapsulates so much 9S is one of my favorite in this game he gave 2B a reason to keep fighting especially when she's trying to find him

He has a virus. But he is doing his best in saving all of his memories of 2B in one corner of his blackbox. Hence thats the reason why the unrevivable 9s was revived by 2b. ( from the fifth nier automata concert/play dialogue.

I was a little confused the first time I finished Emil's memories, because in English he refers to a man, but that's Kaine's hut, then I realised the Japanese "neutral" wording usually leans a bit to the male side, so it's probably a translation error, cause yeah, he could be talking about Nier, but we all know that Kaine was much more important to Emil than Nier

Kaine is Emil's long gone friend from the previous NieR game. That's Kaine's hut which Emil preserved and planted lunar tears around, Kaine's favorite flowers.
@@laiden25 You can come to this location before route B. You can tell the developers wanted it to be mainly a 9S quest because 2B doesnt provide any dialogue. But once you unlock Route C or D, when you send 9S down there itll unlock the extra cutscene.

Here is a recital drama that follows shortly after ending E: mintychu.dreamwidth.org/1870.html Do note that everything past '(Separation point of "bad" (script) ending and "good" (concert) ending.)' and before 'GOOD (CONCERT) ENDING:' is not canon. That confirms that 2B and 9S are alive and well. Also the item 'Emil Heads' tell about him (Emil) seeing (most probably) 2B some 500 years later.
