I was a little confused the first time I finished Emil's memories, because in English he refers to a man, but that's Kaine's hut, then I realised the Japanese "neutral" wording usually leans a bit to the male side, so it's probably a translation error, cause yeah, he could be talking about Nier, but we all know that Kaine was much more important to Emil than Nier
It's ironic. God wanted to wipe humanity out of existence because God think humanity isn't worthy of life. But without humanity, life isn't worth living either.
I cried during this part of the game.
in chapter select I went there as 9S after 2B's death but it didn't trigger this monologue for me. Does it need to be during a specific chapter?

I played Automata first and thought Emil was the strangest and most annoying one-off character in history. After replicant, I can say I was very wrong

For a game where the characters aren't supposed to show emotion, this scene encapsulates so much 9S is one of my favorite in this game he gave 2B a reason to keep fighting especially when she's trying to find him
Ironically shows more emotion than 90% of games nowadays.
I did the mission and got the key but didn’t head to the elevator now when I go back later it wouldn’t work
Square always making great scenes, since Final Fantasy 7 they did us to cry.
I thought I was over 2b and then I got to this scene and I cried hard
This is the scene I remember the most from Automata... An that was before I knew Kaine. I'm so glad they remastered Replicant. 2 beautiful games.
playing through Replicant and seeing Emil's home in Automata looking VERY similar to Kaine blew my mind!
It is Kainé's hut, that's why.
I had the opposite. Played Replicant after Automata and had huge fun with seeing so much familiar things and places.
@@charliegraham2789 I doubt its Kaine's hut.. Who would build the city over Kaine's hut? Humans were almost extinct after Nier Gestalt event
@@samyadeepdatta9043 Time and weather probably buried the place. Past Emil probably made sure Kaine's hut was still maintained and accessible despite everything that happens up to Automata, back when he still remembered who it first belonged to.

I’m in the same boat. Just finished Version 1.22. Suddenly a lot more of the off handed comments in Nier: Automata make a lot more sense now...

Emil says Lunar Tears are know to grant wishes; 9S says he'll be with 2B soon, so his wish was actually granted in Ending E.

A flower is what caused humanity to go extinct. Funny how a flower, the very thing that cause all hope to perish, became the signal for hope. It is ironic really.
What if Emil was keeping those flowers because he tried to wish his friends back to life?
@@UneclipsedGamer I was just thinking the same thing. Kainé's house related to the lunar tear, her grandmother, and Emil as he was her best friend. He then kept collecting lunar tear over and over in front of her hut for years and now 9S came there to mourn 2B at the same place several years ago that Kainé mourn her grandmother. For me this is the scene that connect both games the most memorable way. TOO MANY STUFF AT THE SAME TIME, AT THE SAME PLACE

He has a virus. But he is doing his best in saving all of his memories of 2B in one corner of his blackbox. Hence thats the reason why the unrevivable 9s was revived by 2b. ( from the fifth nier automata concert/play dialogue.

This is actually really fascinating, seeing how the developers built this room. I was playing earlier this week and had a similar camera glitch.

Maybe, but it could be Emil planting them during all those years, or the tears just started to spread. But I think Emil has an involvedment on it
It's literally her home. I think with so much time it sank underground, but Emil knew of it's location so he kept dugging it up. And yes, Lunar tears most likely due to him

@@samyadeepdatta9043 The same way people find ruins of ancient cities underneath existing cities. Her hut sunk underground, and city was built on the surface. Maybe even Emil contributed in its construction, considering a lift that leads directly to Kaine's hut.

I remember this scene. The eulogy for 2B was one of the saddest quests to complete. But that's Emil's hut! Who is Kaine???
Pretty sure it's from drakengaurd 3 or Nier Geshtalt.

Kaine was Emil's friend in original Nier.
Kaine is Emil's long gone friend from the previous NieR game. That's Kaine's hut which Emil preserved and planted lunar tears around, Kaine's favorite flowers.
Kaine is basically a Emil’s comrade and friend along with Nier. They would all died eventually because of relapse except Emil of course.
Is this the place where Nier and Kaine fight the lizard-like enemy in NieR!?
