Toward's the end of this with Letterman in the cinema, laughing his head off to Porky's 5 and guy asleep behind him, the squealing tires, man that IS classic. LOL
I remember watching this live. I was very young then and it was prime time. This was by far the funniest clip. I just assumed Chris Elliott’s would be but this was funnier than his. I like how even after he marries her he still refers to her as Mrs Hal Gurney
If my dad were alive, he'd get a big kick out of watching these classic Letterman clips from the NBC years, including the ones such as this one from the Holiday Film Festivals, here on TH-cam. :D
anybody notice how back in the day letterman only wore glasses during taped bits and guest appearances on other shows as opposed to just wearing glasses all the time now?? do you think he was just ashamed of needing them back then but eventually didn't give a fuck? or was it a temporary, "reading glasses" kind of thing that grew into a constant need? i notice that it's around the third or fourth year of his 12:30 show that he starts wearing glasses....
what a show this was!!! Wish I could go back i time

I love how high Hal's wife's hair is.... lolololol Love Letterman..
Classic stuff! Love when Biff punches him in the stomach.
This is also a great parady of Annie Hall.
Letterman is actually a good actor

It speaks well for Hal Gurney that he never tried to blackmail Dave, doesn't it?
