Welcome to the Letterman TH-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. These highlights have been artisanly-produced, carefully-curated, and chosen completely at random by an old computer that used to pick numbers for the New York Lotto back in the 90’s. - บันเทิง
This made me realize I’m not using my cell phone to it’s full potential.
and they have a lot more since the 90s
😅😅😅
Dont forget... *67 !"😅
This could have been a weekly show. Total gold these Letterman bits
When having a phone outside your house was a novelty, something special.
And you had Regis at your call!
The Guy Cleaning The Window Is My Dad 🤣 He Still Looks The Same
Really? That's cool.
"Is that anything?" is my favorite line.
RIP Reggis Philbin!
Trolling people before the Internet.
Dave is a freaking comedy legend!
“Hey! A bus just pulled off and a really strange guy got off.” So many gems 💎 😭😭😭
Every 12-year old’s dream. Prank calling people.😂
A tommy billboard and a reference to pin ball wizard. The 90s were amazing
Perfection...miss Dave. Only in hindsight is it clear that he was inventing late night TV. When I was in high school...I just knew it was great.
This kind of stuff was done previously by the guy who actually invented the form a few decades earlier: Steve Allen, host of the Tonight Show going back to the 50's. Check him out! Amazingly talented and funny. Man on the street gags, props, etc. Allen did it all. Letterman once wore a suit made of velcro and stuck himself to a wall. Steve Allen wore a suit made of teabags and was dipped in a tank of water. I think they're both great. But a lot of things that Letterman gets credited for inventing were invented many years before he started working on TV.
Dave’s true inspiration was Ernie Kovacs. At least I like to think so. Check him out.
Young ones can't realize that for us, the phone car back then was something out of this world!
It really was!
The "Phone Car" comes out in 2025
I had a car phone! thought I was the s**t!🤣
They realize and they don’t care.
At $5 per minute 😂
This man was a menace! LOL
Its this type of content that puts in perspective how funny and witty Dave is. Great personality for a talk show host.
Why jimmel Fallon and Kimmel have shows is beyond me.
The shows are now about politics. Being funny isn't important.
Corden's gone, the rest are following. I think if there wasn't a TH-cam to put their clips on, they'd already be gone. I watch some monologues and bits from late night occasionally, but I can't remember the last time I watched a late night show on TV. Maybe since Letterman.
Dave messing with people's heads never got old.
I spent a decade+ of my life working in a newsroom and I would answer crazy phone calls like this on a regular basis.
This is hilarious and also gave me major anxiety haha
I love Dave's car in this! Who knew he drove a Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealth - cool 90's car.
The watermelon bit was the funniest. I think the store owner may have half-recognized Dave. That's why he wasn't aggressive about non-payment.
I remember having a huge bag phone in the 90's, I wish I used it like Dave did.
how could you afford the minutes?
@@nomadcowatbk
He must be rich!! Maybe we could be friends with him...
@@nomadcowatbk Not rich, my parents gave it to me and I only used it for emergencies lol.
I miss this guy so much. One of a kind.
he isn't dead
I'd love nothing more than a "News-Buster" t-shirt.
There is no “off” position on the genius switch.
"My oh my!...We're having some fun now! Wake the kids...Phone the neighbors!"
@@moaningpheromones "You know him. You love him. You can't live without him!"
You’re not exactly dealing with a chimp here.
Crank callin' on his car phone😂😂😂😂🍉
You can hear the frustration in the guys voice towards Dave @5:36 when he says "Uh-huh." Lol
Back in those days, having a phone on your car was a privilege
Yes, not a cell phone, car phone.
The way that fruit stand guy just stares at him as he walks off lmao
Late Night died when Letterman left
“
Lmfao “we can’t find pinball wizard “
The “is that anything?” Cracks me up
Having a phone line in a car is still super impressive to me in 93 lol. Look like it’s Bluetooth wireless too lol
Dave was such a savage. Tonight'sate night ain't no match w all of them combined
Love when Dave plays “the dumb guy”.❤
Classic Letterman! This is just so funny!
Raw, unadulterated Dave! Love this man!!!! ❤
"Alright, here's what I didn't tell ya. I think the guy was drunk."
"Okay. Thanks for calling."
"Does that make a difference?"
"No!"
"Oh. Hey hey how about this he had a gun!"
"Goodbye!!"
"HE HAD A GUN!! MA'AM?"
Genius!
Thanks for all the classics Dave. I remember seeing my building on TV as a kid during this bit (5:38) and freaking out.
...was in the US many yrs years ago, & Late-night with Dave had been my favorite...now, frm across the globe...Dave is still one of my favorite laughter guy 👍😅
This is how comedy is done.
Ridiculous Dave!👀🤣😂😭🐈
YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS GUY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can't imagine Dave what you do when you're really bored
One word. Firearms.
@@claumeister1 You sure it's not throwing pencils
@@sherry5136 Good point, if he’s indoors, that is. OTOH, his house is so huge, he can probably shoot clay pigeons indoors on rainy days ! Either way, I bet he’s got a few ceilings peppered with tiny holes !
I don't have that luxury I have to be practical
Air Date: September 3, 1993
Too funny 🤣🤣
Thanks for all the laughs Dave.
I love Dave!! Why does he look like a Simpsons character? 😆
REGIS !!!!! ❤️
I forgot how funny he was
Back when call blocking wasn't around yet ... good times.
These remotes were awesome.
1:54 ''Go back to bed".
Regis Phillban 1931-2021
Some perspective here: In the 90s Cellphones/carphones couldnt be traced so people could still do this stuff. No caller ID yet either.
Caller ID was available for extra fee, might have only worked to trace a landline though
My dad found a caller ID machine in his shed around 2015. He called the phone company to see if he could use it and they said they still charged a fee for that.
Dave's the best
Thank you for the belly laugh Dave!
Dave the best
Dave was hilarious.
Dave is getting things done😆😆😆👍🌸
😅 A productive day by anyone’s standard
I've never seen this before. *THAT STEALTH THO! So HAWT!*
Thanks Dave
Lol at the mischievous smirk @5:29
Did Dave ever pay that farmer's market vendor $2.00 for that piece of watermelon? Lol🤣🤣🤣
back when payphones took incoming calls
Back when there were more payphones!
What r ya talking bout, they always took incoming calls. 💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️ unless the number was erased or hidden in some way. But u could always call a pay phone.
Nice dodge stealth...
Nice Dodge Stealth that hes cruising around in.
Genius! (Dave’s brightness, but also perfect editing & sound, &c.)
He couldn't get away with that today.
Classic D Letterman - lots of nutty, some crazy mixed in w/ a pinch of paranoia for good measure! 😂
Wait till Dave find out about mobile phone.
love dave long hair
Everything is good! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Soooo funny
"HE'S EATIN' 🍉 "!
I miss David Letterman...😔
got to love it.
"He has a gun!"
"goodbyeee."
"These pretzels are making me thirsty!"
No, it's more like..."These pretzels...ARE MAKIN' ME THIRSTY!!!"
No no. That’s no good. See you can’t act
good stuff
Lolol he’s hilarious
The OG Troll!
Go back to bed 😂😂😂😂
Dave was way ahead of the call ahead game
Funny Very Funny
He needs his voice on SIRI
My dad had a car phone and it got stolen. Wished we used it more
I wonder if anyone from the "Late Show" staff called 1010 WINS back to tell them it was just Dave messing around on his car phone and to apologize.
This segment is unrelatable to most viewers. Having a phone in your car? We're not all rich TV hosts!
Get to workin then
We gonna pretend that he's not driving around in a badass Dodge Stealth?
Poor Win!!
this didn't happen a year ago.
Watermelon!
funny
Do these people not recognize his voice? Lol
4/20/23@ 4:34am in Pittsburgh
To think I have seen all of his shows!!!😂😂😂😂 apparently not
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Dodge Stealth or Mitsubishi 3000GT I believe. Nice car
He says during the mattress call that it’s a Dodge.
What model car is Dave driving?
Dodge Stealth
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
