Kdrama have always been around. They are getting better every year as Korea starts to cater more to an international audience. (In my opinion) dramas that flop in Korea are popular elsewhere so there is room for more stories to get told. This episode hits different when you know what happens.

Thanks for the heads up on the differences between the English and English CC subtitles, I didn't even know there was a difference until you mentioned it so I will share the knowledge. Also, my daughter watches a LOT of Korean TV and shows etc and always teaches me something new, she knows a little of the language, loves the food, a huge BTS fan and has a fascination with all things Asia at the moment, but she's learning Japanese. Sth. Korea and Japan are on her wishlist of places to visit. She was frightened to go to the door when the guy with the hoodie was banging because the guy that killed her dad had a hoodie, it's not PTSD and that's why she ran out into the rain to see if she could identify him, not because she was regretting it. Yes you're right, the guilt is eating her up, but he didn't die because she called him, its the guilt of her last words to her father in that last phone call before he came to see her for her birthday "Don't come back, you're dead to me now". It was different to KINGDOM, violent, dark period drama and scary etc, again some very good acting, but don't want to say too much to spoil it for everyone. *Train to Busan (Film: Korean action horror) Literally almost from the start, edge of your seat, shouting/screaming at the TV, felt you were with them, flipping scary, panic, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT and EMOTIONAL, best visuals and cinematography, CLAUSTROPHOBIC TENSION, memorable characters, even the extra's, just a "MUST WATCH", if you liked World War Z, you'll definitely love this, it's the best. *Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula (or Train to Busan 2) (Film: Korean action "horror") We were so hyped for this having watched the trailer, it starts off OK, you felt there was an urgency, the main character Gang-Dong-Won is a bit stoic too many times, with some bad CGI and some car action that defy physics. Overall, VERY disappointing in comparison to the original, they really should have left this alone. *MY NAME (Korean crime, thriller programme) you're obviously currently watching, so don't want to say too much and spoil it for you or anyone else. It's dark, but violent and emotional at times. The main character is tough and persistent. I think you're both going to LOVE IT. *HELLBOUND (Korean Drama: fantasy series (6 episodes (release date 19 November 2021 in the US/22 November 2021 here in the UK)) is another survival series which is "said to be" more intense than 'Squid Game' written by the same Director of Train to Busan so should be really good, looking forward to this new series, can't wait to see it. The police chief I didn't find his acting very convincing. I dropped it for a week or so then decided I wanted to finish it. Not sure of why some people were chosen for their final destination as the sin wasn't always clear. Was better from Ep's 3-6 with a few good twists, some very sad, but there's got to be a Series 2 as left me with so many questions. Overall it was good and interesting, but sorry, in my opinion, not in the same league as 'Squid Game' or better than as suggested.
The Asian gangs that are actually in asia does rely heavily in the family dynamics. Like in the yakuza, there are actual members that stay in the house and be teachers, tutors, caregiver for the kids etc, not necessarily have to be women, either. The one who cooks, and cleans are usually the one at the lower rung of the ladders, those who are still new and young and they stay in the main house. Caregivers of the kids are usually mid-level and high. In south asia, gangs are even more family-oriented, usually whole families work in one gang one after the other or all at once.
Not a lot of people know this one but if y’all like murder mysteries you’ll love Beyond Evil it’s on Netflix and I suggest only putting it on patreon first if you do to test the waters but it’s really good

There are many good kdramas but in base of what I've seen on other channels, these 2 are the only ones for now that may be well received in terms of numbers and engagement. But that's fine, if you like it and it's worth it, react to them. If not, it's ok too. And when other good and viral kdrama comes out, we'll tell you. Btw I don't know if you watched The witcher but with Season 2 coming out soon, I think it can be a good show to react, other youtubers started Season 1 now to get ready for the 2nd
