Many, many thanks Jennifer for showing us this square. I would never have gotten row 6 right if it weren’t for you and your great instructional videos! I always try and work the pattern out for myself first but after ripping out rows 4-5-and 6 five times I knew I needed your help! Bless you!
For Clue 8, I would suggest that you measure for the number of stitches in 4” across Row 3 after working through Row 6, and measure the number of rows in 4” near the edge (in the regular double crochet section) rather than in the cables section once you’ve worked at least 12 rows. While the cables can pull the height down a *little* bit, it should easily stretch back to the same height as the non-cabled sections. You just want to be sure to work the front and back post stitches at the very top of the previous row’s post (as I mention around 21:45 in this video, if you work a post stitch into a lower part of the previous row’s post, it will reduce the height of your cable section). For Clue 9, you can measure the number of stitches across 4” on Row 2 in-between the two colored motifs after completing Row 3, and measure the number of Rows in 4” in the space between the two colored motifs after completing Row 25. I hope that helps!
Brilliant teaching Jennifer. My first time doing cable crochet and I wouldn’t have done it without your video tutorial. ❤fantastic video.
Aw…that’s so kind of you! I’m glad the video was helpful for you? 😊

Where would I have to measure to see if i got gauge for clues 8 and 9 because I am new to cables and mosaic work.

Thank you sooooo much for your help. I was going out of my mind on where and how to get the measurements right.
If you use 3 different hook sizes for all 9 squares, what hook size would you recommend for section 10?
