    I come from Fuji and Leica and switched to the A7cii. What i love is in combination with the compact G Lenses. You have full control because one dial is ISO, 2nd is aperture and F Control at the lens itself. But you have also the video abilities, create recipes inside the cam and you have the best autofocus if you tired shooting manual.

    One difference is that, if i'm not mistaken, on fuji you can use the raw and generate multiple versions of the same picture by applying various settings and picture profiles, while in Sony it is baked in when you shoot it. If sony can improve this so you can generate multiple versions from raw ... that would be awesome :)

    From owning both, the original a7c is a better x100v in almost every way other than all the fun film simulations that rhe x100v has. Ok and the evf on rhe a7c is shite compared to the x100v but I rarely used either to be fair. But other than that the are a better comparison. Versus the a7cii I can only imagine is a WAY better camera than the x100v. A better comparison is actually any of the a6000 series. Same size sensor etc. Like the 6400 probably. The problem with Picture Profile recopies is that they are not even close to the capabilities in the Fuji. What you can do with the Sony is to make your own simulations by shooting SLOG3+LUT. And that is a much better option than the Fuji option. I have to get myself a A7cII to test it, but for example on my A7rIII and A7IV I shoot SLOG3 and than I use my own LUTs to get one click film simulation. The A7cII must be capable of showing you in the camera how the LUT changes the image, I have to use my phone with Minotor+ app.
    This is why the Panasonic S5II is right now the coolest camera ever - it has it all including a very capable LUT support for stills and video. I think that this is the future but Sony may never do that in their cameras. Their implementation of LUTs in their latest cameras is so stupid... it is like they had to add this option but they do not want us to use it.

      @@JeanV1986 Back in the day is irrelevant, we live in the present and the present professional climate dictates that you need redundant media for client work. I'm sure trusting a single card is great until you have that one failure on a $5k event job. I'd rather not play the waiting game personally.

    • @JeanV1986
      @JeanV1986 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SuLu_B This is true. But then again, I never shot a 5k even either. The A7C is not that kind of camera anyway, it is too small to feel comfortable with big lenses, and the EVF is...let's say, basic in comparison to bigger cameras. So that's not typically the camera you would want to shoot on a pro event. But I agree a second card slot would have been nice, albeit a micro SD one like Nikon did recently.

    • @SuLu_B
      @SuLu_B 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JeanV1986 Yeah, ANY kind of second media card would have been amazing. I would take dual micro slots if that's all they could/would give me in a compact body. I hear what you're saying and I know that shooting professional gigs isn't exactly what this camera was designed for, but my original point is that it's *so* close to being the perfect compact hybrid camera that even a professional can use, minus that one killer feature. I can live with not the best EVF, the one on the a7iv I own is already not the greatest but it's good enough. I'm willing to make compromises on kit even for professional gigs but certain things are deal breakers.

    How are they even comparable? The A7CII is a) full frame and b) interchangeable lens.
    The X100V is APSC and fixed lens. Furthermore, the X100V is marketed at shooters who want a very particular look without having to edit their photos.

    Definitely not Sony's x100v.
    It's missing the point-- Fuji x100v is great b/c it's a wonderful package camera thats so small and brilliant that it fits in the pocket of almost every single jacket i own. The reason why this camera/nor any other fujifilm interchangeable camera can not be an x100v replacement is that the lenses are simply too large to be an everyday carry anywhere camera. The only Sony camera that fits this mold or design ethos is the brilliant Sony rx1r ii. I really hope Sony brings back these line of cameras again one day and give it a modern update. They were really incredible considering it's a full frame camera yet STILL smaller than Fuji's x100 series cameras.

    The Sony cameras have great features and far better AF. But there isn’t a Sony X100. It’s like comparing a Fully Automated Coffee Machine to an Espresso-Portafilter machine from Italy. OK, the Sonys can capture better photos than fully automatic coffee machines can make espresso. But still…❤ Completely different approach.
