How have I never seen this video before. Brings back some very good memories. We had a DB770 on our farm in Gloucestershire, best sound ever at full chat.

No labour shortages there .?manned bale sledge!. I always do the headland last when I bale hay.as it takes the longer time to dry .also I all ways get in and out of the tractor on the clutch side.the side of double brakes is for emergencies only .I don't know why I need to say it .but I thought I'd point that out .its just good practice and could prevent a injury or worse long term.also chucking Broken bales back through the baler .don't.. I almost got baled myself once when a loose string got wrapped around the pickup reel and my wrist when feeding loose bales though it was only luck I was saved.

Quite right you do'nt get off on the land side, into the furrow or mower or anything else when we had a manned home sledge and bar we stacked tidy. My rating for small balers:-- New Holland ,Jones (earliermodels) International Class Welger Allis Chalmers Massey Ferguson Bamford. Later Jones became Allis/Bamford large ans sort pf ok Welger got better then a bit cheap,NH remained fairly constant quality and later MF's could be more reliable.,but it came down to particular models and production runs. The worsed NH in uk was a model not long after the 68 hayliner, can't remember the model but it did'nt gobble the crop up and had odd corner construction above the pickup /near the feed to the chamber, Farmers hated them as under certain conditions with hay they bungup. At farm sales nobody would bid on them and scrap men soon cleared them. I never owned one,but one farmer tolde they baler straw no problem bur still slow.
