So on those springs did u have a lot less chassis slap I guess? I run 80 wt oil and still has slap I want new springs but can’t decide what ones. U ever run progressive springs?
Since this post I have discovered it’s not bad chassis slap I’m hearing! It’s the body Try it without the body on a big jump it’s so much quieter. then u can put something like a stick on felt pad on the shock towers It will dampen the sound some Ppl may already know this but it was definitely news to me lol 😂 let me know if u do this
I'm running the progressive springs gold ones on front of my big rock so far still breaking them in..55wt oil as well... But u get all three sets for front or rear ...
I tried comparing some of the maxx springs by placing them on a digital scale and compressing them all 1 inch. The VG springs were difficult to get accurate results since they are dual rate. This is what I came up with: GPM Gold 11lb Widemaxx rear 8969 9lb GPM Silver 8lb Stock maxx rear 8967 7lb VG Dual Rate 6lb for small coil compression, 15lb+ for large coil compression After a bash day with the VG springs, I think I'm going to go back to my previous setup with 8969's on the rear ang GPM silver on the front. I run losi 90wt in the rear and AE 80wt in the front. My truck is a bit heavier than the stock v2 as I'm running a max6 esc, 4092 1650kv rocket motor and 5000-6200mah 6S lipo packs. I had tried the GPM gold on the rear and 8969's on the front, but it made the truck bouncy. Maybe I can try that again if I get the M2C pistons... just not sure I want to mess with it anymore. To get the VG springs to hold the truck up at all at rest, I had to crank down the collar to almost the full amount, which essentially compresses the 1st stage of the dual rate completely, making them relatively ineffective. I know some guys get the vitavon collars to compress them even further, but I don't understand the point as you end up riding on the heavier part of the spring most of the time. With the truck in the air, if I move the tire up about 3/4" to compress the shock, the 1st stage of the VG spring is fully compressed. By adding the collars, it would be fully compressed all the time. I saw a guy on facebook using sledge VG front springs, which are taller. But you have to buy 2 of the full set to get 4 front springs as they sell them in a full set of 4 with the rear springs being quite a bit taller, which would likely be too much spring for the maxx shocks. Not sure I want to spend $50 on springs I can only use half of to then get a little bit better result... You can see the result in my latest video with the maxx. The previous video had the silver/8969 combo. I put the setup of my truck in the description of each video.
Yea they are definitely harder than stock and I’m still running them. I run almost no preload and the truck handles like a champ. I think I have maybe 2 threads showing on the shock body
I have the Castle system as well. The gpm springs are way to stiff for the track though. I stick with stock springs. Your control arms should be level for the best performance.
Ok running the same and I got the e revo tires too. Such a beast now
Great video! Looking into getting the same Castle system for my Maxx.. Thanks for sharing!
That’s all I run is castle

I want an answer to this as well....? And response? 😁
I'd like a response too :)

What size strap are you using for the battery, going long ways?
Iirc it’s 18” long and I made my own straps with Velcro and some metal loops
Do you have the part number for the GPM springs?
TXMSF/R/SPGD
how many inches did you make that ramp
How many inches? It’s like 2ft high and 4ft out
Hey bro this spring are feel harder then stock ?

Those are the Gpm shocks and springs right
Yep on my Maxx is GPM
@@Hittin2thabassthat motor is sensored right and what pinion are you also running
@@thenerfer4263 yes it’s sensored. Gearing was 20/54 then iirc
How heavy is your maxx
Not heavy at all really

The springs where new here and stiff. They have since settled and softened up
6s looks like the same speed as my 4s maxx🤔
You can’t judge speed off a video….
@@Hittin2thabass that's why I said looks...👍
