The pirate crossed the road to get to the second hand shop.
Does anyone else remember the secret vault on port merrick seen during “a dark deception?” One important item from each adventure was displayed in this vault. They should just put a book or other item to vote on, and you and your crew can replay that adventure. It would be a great way to re-use that vault, and bring back adventures
And its a reason to use port merrick opposed to other outposts
they will have to adjust some as they required multiple crews to complete.

2:46 this is exactly how it should've been from the start and was promoted to us as back before season 6. Sea of Thieves isn't known for it's story, it's known for its innovative sandbox. The story's we got in 2018-2020 revolved around the CONTENT being added, not the actual narrative.
I think we need to go back to the “goofy” side stories with little narrative, the tone of Sea of Thieves doesn’t really have that serious feeling Rare keeps trying to push.
As someone who really enjoys this game but hasn't been able to keep up with the time commitment required throughout the years this is some good news.
Time-Limited stuff sounds very cool until you realize there is only one singular good thing about it going up against a world of cons

Nah some of those limited time cosmetics were incredibly hard to earn. Y’all don’t deserve to have them unvaulted without the challenges to unlock them come too.

I don’t even care what features come in the next season - this is the most exciting update for me! I’ve done so few of the adventures so I am excited to see what the changes will look like!

One thing ive always love about Falcore videos is its LITERALLY conversations my crew and ive had. Theres always something cool that gets taken away suchas your example of the keg rowboats. There are so many cool features that could easily be inserted into the game.
Keep beating these drums Captain Falcore, maybe one day a Rare dev will see this and actually do something. No one wants time limited content and rewards. We want anytime we can play content and rewards.
Again: FOMO was a mistake that brought out the self-entitlement is so many pirates. I'm glad it is being alleviated through this change to Adventures and, yes, the regular giving out of once-exclusive skins.
We never needed exclusive skins to enjoy the game, pirates. You're showing your scurvy-rears every time you complain about not being able to flex on someone with a sail no one else can get.

Honestly you wouldn't even notice the exclusivity if they still did what they used to when the game was earlier in it's life. Plenty of things in the early days in SoT were exclusive but nobody cared much because they constantly released new (and I mean new, not reskinned) sets. Now the only new sets that seem to come out are for the Emporium or exclusive items via Adventures or Twitch, or SoT giveaways. The rest are just reskins they keep shoving down our throats. If we constantly got new sets like in the old days nobody would really notice or care about the exclusive items. We're content starved to say the least.

Also, (generally speaking) it is hard to not notice FOMO being a thing in a game even when content is regularly produced. Especially when FOMO items are heavily advertised, which they usually are.
100% agree. I've been playing since Closed Beta and have seen the degradation of the playerbase into toxicity because of these time gated cosmetics. I for one would love for all types of players, be them new or toxic to earn the "coveted" cosmetics that I have. What a lot of these "Flex-Beards" don't realize is that 90% of the players they fight and "flex" on don't even care about their cosmetics whatsoever, especially new players who have no idea about any of those cosmetics, they are just caring about fighting to survive. FOMO doesn't belong in SoT whatsoever.
I'm gonna gamble on it being Kate Capsize, and also that she'll be able to send you into the Sea of the Damned to replay old adventures as well.
I doubt they'd make Guybrush be at every outpost to hand out adventures since the Monkey Island Tall Tales wouldn't make sense to new players in the future if they are told to find him in the Sea of the Damned and he's there next to them.
Personally I would guess that it'll be Belle, Larina or the Mysterious Stranger that you start them from, if not the Pirate Lord's vault on Port Merrick since it has something to represent each adventure inside already.
They need to just keep the lady already on the island next to the castaway. She started the quests and it makes the most sense for her to be the one giving out the quest. (Or they could make it something else, something that doesnt take up much space)

guy brush will not be sticking around, because it would contradict the monkey island storyline. this is his honeymoon, and Escape from Monkey Island takes place directly after.
All those timed events you mentioned at the beginning of the video, I missed EVERY SINGLE ONE. And I am a day one pirate! I hit pirate legend within the first year of the game. I've played SoT more than any other game. And yet, I never played any of the story things that we're introduced. And since they we're time limited, I cannot EVER experience them. Even though I used to be one of the biggest fans for the game, I'm now actually further back in the story experience than people who maybe started a year ago. It's sad that so much effort goes into the game, just for them to take it back.

would be cool if they utilized the custom maps board on the dock and used that as the interactable menu for adventures and quests they could use one side of it for the custom maps like it is currently and the back side as where you select which "legacy" adventure or quest you want to do. would make people interact with that asset again and might spur people to start putting maps on the custom side again.

Happy about this. My internet is limited and I’ve missed out on most events after the pirates of the Caribbean episode.
I think they could bring the banners back in but at a larger scale, each faction can have a banner they can raise or lower, seeing there is 6 forts 2 in each of the 3 sections it could got like if 1 fort has {Faction Banner} then profit boosted in that section but a bit but if 2 Forts have the {Faction Banner} it gets a major boost in that section. As for Reapers though who's Hideout is located in none of the sections their goal is to capture 1 Fort from each section totalling 3 to boost their profit or they could go all in and capture 6 Forts which would Boost the Reaper's Profits but lower all other Factions profits. It gives reason for Players to guard the Sea Forts.
I remember hearing this about the old adventures back in the day. I'm not content with only the new ones >_
If Rare allows adventures to be replayed than they have to make mysteries too gosh I loved the last mystery
Forts of the forgotten brought the best idea for the game that was never used, king of the hill sea fort minigame i was down for that, needed work though...

This is a good change I never understood why they made these time exclusive and basically wasted development time for a short story that would be gone in a month.
I hope the old ones come back eventually, but this is still a really good step in the right direction!
Adventures where a great idea, and would have been a great extension if they would have evolved into what Rare promised us initially. Small little adventures, not too long, easy and fast to do for any casual player, not important to the overall storyline(!!) but leading to a new Tall Tale which would give us new story elements. In the end we ended up with pretty long adventures (Shrouded Deep) with heavy gameworld changes (A Hunters Cry, Return of the Damned).
Also removing tools like the reaper rowboats or the Meg summoning where very unnecessary. It would not have hurt anyone to keep some rare reaper rowboats and give Hunters Call a Meg quest.
Or maybe give them out at Larinna monthly.
Adventures where really expensive, almost all of them introduced totally new tools and interactions with the existing game world, complete new areas and islands, and then went into the trashcan after 2 weeks. And some of them where not even good, we did them only because of the rewards. A real waste of time.
The latest adventures went back to the initial ideas. Secret wilds opened a new chapter of the story about Briggsy and Adventure Twelve (It has no name on the official website?) introduced us to Monkey Island Tall Tales. I really enjoyed them both. Although both took pretty long again, taking a whole session of my crews 2 sessions a week.
I also thing Lost Sands and Return of the Damned where great solutions in the time limited adventure format. Community choices are always a hot topic most game developers would never touch. But they did not introduced anything new themself but leading a path to **permament** world changes. And they worked pretty well in the lore.
Maybe they could call them a clever name like Bilge Rat Adventures? Oh wait, we’ve been here before.
They'd probably have to change voice lines, since guybrush would both have to be found and sitting right there at the same time.

HUZZAH! Adventure finally being amazing. I've only started playing this season and I wish i could at least get the story recap in game to catch up. Or experince the fun mechanics, but I simply didnt have the PC back then to do it. Honestly Id be fine with an Adventure every 2-3 months, if it means Quality over Quantity. Plus I dont get penalized for not being able to play or not being a Day 1 Vet player.
I started playing in June so there was only one adventure I was able to do. And I also happened to start playing when new seasons stopped coming. I wonder if the old adventures will return or only the new ones will be repeatable.
Here's a theory for you...after Monkey Island tale 3 Stan will appear at Port Merrick and will be able to change the size of your ship
I get it.... gamedev is complicated in myriad ways and Rare are charting uncharted waters with live service support for Sea of Thieves because even among MMOs and things there really is nothing else like this...
But time limited Adventures that disappear forever was always just an obvious rake to step on. Such myopia on just a conceptual level alone.

Honestly the flags for the forts could be good for reputation multipliers
More flags could be made for trading companies and the more there are, the more of a multiplier there will be along with emissary value
I'd like to see that reworked for a capture system similar to something like PlanetSide in which a crew guild ur alliance could rack up multipliers that way, but then if another crew takes it those multipliers go to them
Maybe even use one idea I saw where you make the storages relockable so that you have a place to store loot between selling but someone can easily steal the key and steal the loot after recapturing the fortress or something
The fortresses would just overall be more useful if you could use them as a temp hub for your crew or something more interactive than fighting ghost and having it stop being yours after you sail far enough away
He used to go "laughs in Insider" but he hasn't done that in awhile. Also he's been correct a lot of times. The shit part is when he isn't right, his idea was better than what we got

Because this game needs the Sony playerbase to help reinvigorate it.
Honestly I would rather just have tall tales back instead for story stuff, they were way better. But I also miss the world building that they did in the past where there would be slight changes and mysteries around such as Reaper's slowly being built and characters appearing around it, I mean we still don't have anything on those mysterious stone archways underwater that you talked about years ago.

Considering they aren't letting us keep anything we "unlock" in the first two Tall Tales so far I am doubtful but I wish. They even gave us a "new" shanty during the 2nd one and took it away at the end and we got some ugly ass trinkets instead. Such disappointment.

Theres sometheing thats been bothering me, in the piret life tall tail in the dark brother hood meeting place the seat where the cap'n sits on there are scrach marks on the left hand on the chear and lechukh doesn't have a left hook arm, and there are burn marks on the map that ONLY cap'n Hooks can make with his twin sigar smoker, so em I wrong or is there more to this cap'n and the dews are not telling us everytheing.

This is definitely a good move. I always hated time exclusive story content. It just makes the game feel so unwelcome to new players, or old players who missed a quest or two. There was no good way to catch up on the story other than watch some youtuber play through it, which was no where near as exciting. It's like how Destiny 2 removed their base game campaign, lmao.
I really do wish they could find a way to make the older ones replayable, tho. I did miss quite a few of them.

I hardly think that a game that revolves around constant pvp and stealing should have much story or adventure. You don't see the characters in fall guys searching for any explanation or reason as to why they are battling for the crown against other people. There's no reason for a pirate game to have anything fun or daring. only theft and death. (this is sarcasm and a jab falcore, since you missed the point entirley last time ;) I love the story and thats why i like the idea of a pricvate world.)
I can't believe that during the wait for season 10, and how bone dry the content has been, they haven't decided to you know.... put all the previous adventures back into the game so that people would have something to do? I have to believe that they've deleted all the adventures or something because there's no way they just take them out and leave them sitting on a shelf never to be seen again.

Soooo the new adventures are...just Tall Tales? Something they already had in the game that we all loved and wanted more of? And instead they started making...time limited Talk Tales and played the FOMO game? Why they ever decided these new "Adventures" weren't going to be Tall Tales in the first place is beyond my understanding. FOMO kills games!

So adventures will be repeatable going forward... what about past adventures? and will the player limit requirment be adjusted for a single crew? I'd rather skip the sit there for 5 hrs hoping that a passing crew will help and not just troll to be an asshole.

stories that add to the lore while expanding the sandbox is definitely the correct decision.
