Just came back from the theater, this movie is flat out awesome
It's just one of the best so far among others I've went watch! Some really quality!!
There is a serious problem with this movie. And the problem is that it ends. This was a damn roller coaster of emotions, and one of the greatest Jake and military movies of all time. Absolutely fantastic! I wish there was another 2 hours of the movie

Honestly, this is my new favorite war movie. Maybe because it's not a "war movie" so much as it as an on-the-road chase movie. But it's... god damn inspirational.

As an Air Force guy that used to work alongside of the American Air Force back to Afghanistan, I really enjoyed watching this movie as Afghan. I really appreciate these two gentlemen for supper performance. And also even though Ahmed was not from Afghanistan but he did a brilliant performance.

The best movie of 2023 so far! Jake Gyllenhaal, Dar Salim, Guy Ritchie, Chris Benstead and of course the cinematographer all deserve Oscar nods for this film!!! This is like Platoon and Apocalypse Now. This movie will be a cult classic in the future.

I believe this one is going to pack an emotional wallop! Just knowing he's going back in by himself to rescue the man who saved his life, gave me chills. Fingers crossed it's executed as perfectly as the trailer shows!!

Absolutely fantastic. This movie packs a huge punch.
Firstly the music score is excellent. It follows the action perfectly. (I'm a nerd for a good film score).
I thought it did a really good job of giving us civilians an inside look into the complex role of a modern soldier. The bonds that are made and un-made in battle.
Lastly it's a story about keeping your word. Even when you don't remember giving it. Some deeds go beyond the boundaries of reasonable sacrifice.
You forgot about Ahmed’s clumsy ideas XD . They all seem to be legit and real
Another good film score is from Till which I watched the other day I couldn't stop crying and it was more so to do with the connection of this true story and the music The whole production was well done and so emotional
I saw this. It's up there with the hurt locker. Crazy, but standing alone, Jake's best performance yet.

Just found this DVD at Walmart watched last night - One of the Best if not THE Best Movies I've ever had the privilege of viewing. Outstanding doesn't even come close.

The actor that plays Ahmed is a well know Swedish actor, central character in many series.
Honor. So little of it left in the world, it seems like sometimes. This looks like a promising watch.

I am just disgusted with how we left those interpreters and their families to be murdered. It brought dishonor and caused a massive loss of trust amongst other populations of the world where war is already occurring. We made promises to those people, and then we broke that promise. You can say it was Biden's fault, but we all sat back and let it happen. This was a fantastic movie, probably the best of the year. Great effects, awesome plot, perfect on storytelling, and above all this movie put an arrow right in the target for personal character and values. No wild west stuff, just straight up showed how Murph loves to mess up a good plan. Bravo gentlemen.

Great film. Beautiful acting, character and relationship building. Suspenseful / edge of your seat scenes. And wow to Dar Salim who played Ahmed. Holy smokes. I felt every emotion he went through. He carried (literally and figuratively) a big portion of the movie. I hope to see more of him in the future.
This movie hits home for my husband and I. He was deployed in 2010 and 2011 to Afghanistan in the Kandahar province. When he got back home he kept having one of his former Afghan interpreters who would call over and over begging for help to get out and that the Taliban was going to kill him and his family for working for the US, my husband was only a Sargent at the time and could do absolutely nothing to help him, he tried but nothing ever came of it, the interpreter and his family were eventually killed and my husband has never gotten over it. This movie has a good ending at least but that’s not how it ever goes unfortunately😓
OMG thats heartbreaking. Gotta love it - how we will trade for a racist basketball player who hates America get out of russia, but we wont help a family get away from the Taliban. This government disgusts me sometimes. God bless your husband for serving, and you for supporting him from afar and raising the family on your own.

I'm not a fan of war films generally, but always find Jake Gyllenhaal a good watch. So pleased I saw this film, great performances and a gripping story, it doesn't disappoint 👍

I need to see this. We had a ton of terps that worked hard for us and risked their lives. Our government abandoned them. This administration turned their back on these people and left them to die. A lot of people went into that hell hole to pull good men out.

I hope this is not a spoil, Ahmed deserve the Visa, John deserves a medal and the film deserve a 5 stars.

I haven't even heard about this movie before... then I heard about it from the reviews and t seems everyone loves it. This was a movie sent out to die, alone, yet it survived... how ironic
I watched it yesterday and as usual I stayed for the credits, but I didn't see where that film was shot in even though I have seen that mining facility in the Paramount + SEAL TEAM any one out there know where it was. Getting him back to Bagram Air base was gut wrenching.
According to cinemaholic it was filmed primarily in Spain (Alicante & Zaragosa).

Finally watched this movie today. Awesome is an understatement! I'd have preferred an alternative ending though: Ahmed meeting John's wife for the first time and saying, Asalam alaikum to her. Like after all the carnage that has happened to bring us both to this point, may peace now be upon you.

This movie really touched my heart. It tells a story about a man who is willing to sacrifice his life again just to repay a person who saved his life, and doesn't care what race and culture that other person is. That is humanity. I wish there were more people like this in this world. As there are many people today who can still put a smile on their face and tend to forget as if there is no debt to pay off. There are a lot of people like that in this world and few of them are in my house.

Many who've watched it will say it's the best film of 2023 so far - it's a critics and audience favorite. Guy Ritchie's storytelling as a director is phenomenal and so are Jake's and Dar's performances with a haunting score by Chris Benstead and amazing cinematography.

It's a good movie. Maybe not as good as _Saving Private Ryan_ but it's still good. Jake Gyllenhaal was more convincing as a Sergeant than expected. If you like war movies you'll like this one. I'm going to watch it again.
