These may be 'undeserved' title shots, but the biggest problem is the nearly-unavoidable lack of transparency as to why the more deserving fighters aren't fighting. Pereira is what? 36, 37? He can't wait for months and months and months for Ankalaev to be ready to fight. We don't know that Ankalaev was offered or not offered the fight, so I'm not saying he turned it down or didn't, but if an aging champ wants to get a fight in and #8 is the highest-ranked guy that's willing to take that fight on that date, then that's the guy that gets the fight.
The card does suck though. That part is true. I won't be purchasing this one directly.

2- DDP was offered the fight but he was injured since he already went to the Whittaker fight injured so they threw in Strickland with 5 weeks notice

Chill out dude it’s a great fight. Two of the best pure strikers in the division so hopefully we won’t be subjected to any C level grappling. Is he most deserving ? Definitely, not but schedules worked out and it’s a great fight. You don’t know what goes on behind the scenes in negotiations and personal schedules. Not every fighter is available to fight when the champ is ready to defend for an endless number of reasons we the public not privy to.

Magomed vs Jan was possibly the worst title fight In my time as a UFC fan..leg kicks for 3 rounds and crotch sniffing with no damage done for 2 rounds ..ended in a draw ..that being said I love most magomed fights he is exciting ..but we can't just ignore important things that happened to make our points ..his last 3 are draw in his title shot..you don't just get another one when you were never champ..then he had a no contest that should've been a loss toJohnny walker and in the rematch knocked him out..that was a great ko ...and I know it was called a no contest but by the unified mma rules Johnny won ..magomed commited a blatant foul..and they stopped the fight ..as much as you could say he deserves ..you can give more reasons for him not deserving the fight...I personally want the fight

You choose to do it to Pereira though. Discrediting every win you can, but then when it’s a Dagestani fighter you’ll flip and give them more credit for taking short notice opponents. At least Movsar was in camp getting ready for a fight when he took Lopes on short notice. Pereira (and Jiri) were both not in camp and not preparing for an upcoming fight when they fought the second time on short notice.

I agree it’s not much risk to the contender. There’s really only upside for the contender. It’s a huge risk for the champion and a risk most champions won’t ever take

Ankalaev barely won against Jan. Alot of people forget how bad he his legs were and only remember the 5th round. That fight was really competitive and shouldve been ran back tbh. All that aside, his resume really isn't better tbh.

The only one I liked was Khabib but it took a while once his personality came through I felt he was an ok guy. The way he handled himself against McGregor. I don’t blame him for blowing his top after the fight. I digress. My bias comes from not seeing as many American champions. Which I feel is a microcosm of what’s happening in the world presently. Again I digress. Just sayin’.
