Arcade legends ultimate OneSauce Tutorial December 2023

pause video as needed, I apologize for the unorganized rambling in the video, but I took time to clarify the steps here.
this is a quick demonstration of how to load one sauce CORE BUILD (this build only has the operating system and a pack of 1700 arcade games, you will need to do the add-ons separately for consoles and handhelds) on your arcade legends ultimate.
you will need to download WinRAR

use a large drive. I don't recommend anything under 64gb especially if you're going to use add-ons. I'm personally using an external 1TB SSD USB 3.0 drive.
1. download core build ( This is only the Onesauce software and the arcade pack )

2. unzip core build to the root of a freshly formatted drive formatted to NTFS
3.(optional ADDONS ONLY) download addon packs from the link below (I recommend torrenting them). once fully download navigate to the folder they were downloaded too, open them and then unzip the file pack to the flash drives root and click yes to replace any existing files.

4. (optional ADDONS ONLY) go into files on main drive and unhide any menus so that your add-ons show up in the arcade kiosk menu. if you do not do this step the addons you unzipped to the drive will not show up in the menus.
5. plug in to your arcade, wait for the flash drive to be recognized in the top right. navigate to the BYOG menu and click ADDONS select any category and click on Scripter and Onesauce should launch, enjoy!
this is an experimental Beta build for OneSauce Arcade core pack ( It should work on all cabinets and firmwares ) im currently running firmware 5.68 with an ALU 1.2

Thank you so much. I couldn't get the optional systems to come up until I watched this video and moved those files out of the hidden folder and into the menu where they belonged. Now I've got tons and tons of games to play!

I chose the Basic build and some 8/16-Bit Consoles. It's much cleaner, looks like HyperSpin. And some games like R-Type LEO now run fullspeed thanks to RetroArch.

You dont have to scroll thru the whole game catalog to get to your games. The C and the Z buttons will let you jump from letter to letter to get to your game faster.

I extracted it to the root of a freshly formatted drive. It doesn’t detect the drive. I’m running 5.71 . Any ideas?
Make sure the drive is formatted correctly it should be in the NTFS format not fat32 or exFat. If that checks out I would suggest trying different USB drives or try different the different ports on the arcade itself

Yeah you will have that a bit, unfortunately you can't really do much about that. This cabinets hardware isn't cut out to emulate 3d games like that. I found that PS1 does play a lot better than N64 Though. Personally I just went through and favorited all the games that worked well and go off that. This machine is designed more for 2D stuff. I'd say everything up to PS1 works well. Anything beyond that is a little iffy

after I download it for some reason I only get a "scripter" thing when I try to run it on my arcade. Any idea how to fix this or what went wrong?

Yes it is! I believe the Y button adds a game to your favorites list and if you hit the X button it will switch categories where you can find your favorites
what file explorer program are you using on your computer ?

Thanks for all the help. My stock pro is now 5.68 thanks to your tutorial. Did you lose your 100 included games after the 5.68 update? Is that suppose to happen bc my games screen just says loading but the games dont show anymore. I downloaded the most recent 30gb one sauce november core pack from internet archive. Its a rar about 28.3 GB. Is that the same download as the one in your link. I thought you needed a partitioned USB drive, but i guess thats only needed for a coinopsx build. One sauce is looking alot easier.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to post this video I am working on following your steps. I have run into an issue.
Where I where i'm trying to copy the files In the hidden folders to put them back.
On the menu tab, but they are not working. It won't allow me to do that
Don't copy them drag and drop them or cut then paste you don't want the same folder sets in both the hidden and unhidden folders that might be the issue
Just to confirm, I need to install this to be able to add/remove games from the machine, right? I would like to get one of these machines so just learning about them. Would like to play PlayStation games with it. thanks
Hi TacticalDingus. I am completely new to this and have bought an arcade legends mini for my son. This is by far the easiest tutorial to follow. My son really wants to use the pinball feature on his console. Does your core pack include any pinball games and if not could you tell me where to get some please. Kind regards, Kev.
Do you know how to do a button configuration? Most of the driving games don’t have acceleration on mine. Thanks
It all goes by a system basis profile you can set in retroarch. When you are in game hold down either P1 or the white button for a few seconds and it will bring up the retroarch overlay. Within those settings on the first page you should be able to find a category called controls. Go in as player one and you can mess around with the button configurations when you're completed. You can save that configuration to that game specifically or the entire core you are using

How do you add credits for player 2 :)
I tried to download from the Google drive and it kept failing about 75% in. Finally it completed on the 4th try. I unzipped with winrar onto a 128gb flash drive and ejected. I put it in my cabinet and got to the scripter icon. Once I click A , it just says loading and then back to scripter icon. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

I plugged in a Seagate 2 tb drive but it does not see it , is it a specific SSD I need for this to work ?
Not that I am aware of the alu just needs to be on the correct firmware and the drive you are using needs to be set to the right format configuration

Can i install xbox games? What are the newest systems it can handle? I have a bunch or xbox games already so id like to use them, the games that came on the legends are terrible. Lol So i follow this video to get the cores but do i need the addon tool? I’ve tried a few different times over the past year to get games to work on their using the Erin tool and I can get the games to show up in the system but when you click on them in the game they just flash for a second the screen goes black and then it comes back to normal as if I didn’t click on it so I’m going to Strathmore that and try following your video. Thank you for this.
No Xbox games. Unfortunately, the most recent core that's been loaded in the one sauce build is a Sega Dreamcast add-on and those games are kind of iffy. You have to adjust a lot of settings to make them run good. Simply, the arcade Legends ultimate hardware is not that powerful. Hopefully with a new arcade in the future they will upgrade the power of the machine. You're only option to do something like that is use the OTG mode and plug a console directly into the arcade with an OTG cable and use the control deck as your controller
Also, if you have a gaming computer, you can stream games directly to your arcade. I've used this multiple times. It works very well. I play mortal Kombat 11 on my arcade Legends ultimate with no lag

I don’t know how to do any of that but I’ll start trying to figure it out now I’m not exactly sure how I would plug the console into any of the available ports on the arcade machine are you talking about some type of custom cable? I guess I’m gonna have to take the machine apart to see what’s on the inside and maybe I can just outright replace the computer with a console altogether I have both the ultimate mini arcade and the legends ultimate double controllers, the hook up to a television, but neither one of them has any porch that will plug into any video game console that I know of unless the USB ports will work Is it possible to rip the computer out and replace it with a console like I said or could you at least tell me what port I need to try to connect to?
Would I need a vpn to access your build on Google drive. I'm always curious if these types of downloads are monitored.

You need to turn off "confirm on exit" in Retroarch so you don't have to press twice
I prefer it on, I don't like getting kicked out of my game immediately when I accidentally hit those two buttons when mashing!
How do you activate cheats in mame ?
downloaded the add on but they came in zip folders not a rar please help
Thanks for the videos. I did everything (twice) and it loads but controls don't work for most games (they work fine in the menus but no in the games). I transfered the conversion files for 1.2 and ut still doesn't work. Any thoughts?
You don't need the conversion files for this build
If you hold down P1 when you are in game it will bring up the retro arch menu, you should be able to edit the control inputs and save the profile for each console, good luck!
I just installed one sauce and its complete crap no matter what i do to help it speed up. But you cannot use any shaders in retroarch or it is too slow. Street Fighter 2 games are skipping frames. What am i doing wrong? Running ALU 1.2 new version and running ALU performance
You can only use the Biliner Filter. With that turned on, i had no Speed issues at all.
I don't know if this would help but are you using USB 3.0 and the blue USB port on the ALU?
anyone else find that this build is very unstable. It loads up about 30% of the time and when it does load it sometime glitches out and goes back to the AtGames main screen
I personally haven't heard anyone having this issue. As I mentioned to others go to archive.org and search " awesome sauce " and filter the results from newest to oldest and download the December 22nd core build. They finally released it and it might be more stable for you, good luck!

You have to unplug device to exit game, pressing white and back jus adds credits, also it's very unstabe ive been running for a couple of days and sometimes wont boot or freezes.
I have since found that selecting the arcade option for the script is the most reliable option, also long press P1 takes you to a menu enabling you to exit back to menu.

I have the legends mini arcade and the games inside or terrible. Can I delete those games entirely and just put better games than any games today and do they have to be on a USB drive or can I put a hard drive inside the arcade case?
You can but you have to go through the process of loading one sauce onto your device it's basically like a different program that boots and loads different games once you're inside the machine
@@TacticalDingus thanKs! So is there anything special that I have to do with the downloaded sauce build? Or just put on The drive and then go to byog? Or does it need to be done by etcher or rufus? Also in these awesome sauce builds that I found they come zipped and when you extract them inside the folder is all the games but each game is also zipped. Do I need to go one by one and unzip every single game or will the atgames legends mini play the games even if they are zipped like Xbox? If not isvthere an easier way to extract 800 games? @@95Comics if you open the normal main folder just unzip the main file to the root of the drive it will unzip everything inside

What happens when you try to unzip the file? Are you using WinZip? Or 7Zip?
You have to use winrar to unzip the file because it's a RAR file, not a zip file
