Brad has always been awesome skillwise, and much more relaxed face-to-face than his poker-face demeanour here suggests. Nice to see him finally pushing through to the top levels. Autumn has improved exponentially in the last few years: fantastic to see her as a stable performer right at the top of Magic.

i don't play a ton of historic but from what i understand most of its decks are either the goblins one you see here or simic + x midrange with uro. a typical draw-go control deck will just get outvalued by either, but brad's deck has some specific maindeck inclusions (namely grafdigger's cage and cast out) to give him the edge in those matchups.

UW is fair magic, and the top decks don't play fair magic anymore: they get too much mana advantage too easily, either through ramp or cheating creatures, and Uro Is a Nightmare for every deck to face. But apparently his UW build was perfect to face against Sultai and Goblins. He has a bad matchup against Sacrifice, but all the Yasharn decks made sure Sacrifice wouldn't get past the initial phase. He brought a deck to beat the tournament meta

As I said, makes no difference - and as said by Joe, it was always very... intentional... before, so I can't imagine these were slips or disregard etc.

All you need are the acolyte of flames, the novice pyromancer, the awakened inferno, 4 Chandra elemental cats, 3 torches of defiances, 2 angers of the gods, and two flame sweeps. The key is to the 4 mind stones and four elemental cats. That allows if you have a 4 mana cost Chandra and her regulator, access to 6 mana on turn 3, and 11 mana on turn 4. I out ramp rap decks. @@randyrhoads4737 one tip I'd have for your main complaint is to start realizing when a control deck has locked you out. The thing is a good aggro deck with a similarly perfect draw is going to steam roll you just as effectively, it's just going to take a lot less time. Realizing when you're too far behind against a control deck and just conceding can save a lot of frustration over just sitting there hoping the control player drew 5 lands in a row and that you somehow get something passed their counters.
