I would love the Hornby mags, because - and this is no joke - my dad used to be the boss of Airfix, and at the end they were handed Meccano and Hornby and a bunch of others by Thatcher's government and then removed their bank guarantees and the whole house of cards came a-tumbling down. He is now in his 86th year and in failing health. I think this would bring a wry smile to his face.

Just watched the Grand Tour buys a boat edition and was very entertained and knowing by watching mail call you had not succumbed to the muddy waters was some what reassuring.

Fab video as always. If possible I would love have the painting. We have an odd family tradition of designating the downstairs loo the 'toilet of shame' where all awkwardly posed formal pictures go to traumatise you as you take a comfort break. That picture would improve the ambience immeasurably.

SmokingSpitfire I think we all are a little biased, almost done with my training in a 172N. Absolutely love the way it flies, but then again I haven’t flown in a piper for years.

As much as I admire the thought, and the work you would be willing to put into something like that - I think it would be better left as it is and somehow incorporated into a scale dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape, complete with zombies and shit - as it's has genuine (I hate saying this) 'patina' which would be a shame to lose and is a bugger to fake.

I'm 17 and I would like the Clangers series 1 VHS tape. The reason for this is my mum showed me the clangers one time as she remembers watching it on TV herself when she was little. I think this would be a cool neat little thing to show her.
I'm also a retro fanatic as I love lots of retro stuff. I think VHS tapes are a staple of the past. This VHS tape would mean a lot to me, especially when the man himself JAMES MAY talked about this exact tape. I love watching these videos as it is always interesting to see what stuff people send you.
Who *wouldn’t* want the Clangers VHS? The more I look at it, the more awesome it becomes... “So wait, they’re knitted animals? Like, anteaters? And they’re wearing OVERALLS?” Then they speak in a whistle language that sounds like James May doing an R2-D2 impression? This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen and I need it in my life!

It’s lovely to see you reading the whole letters.💙 Sometimes just read the badly written word as you read it and then people will learn to write clearly. Also if the letter is way too long, read the start and then the last few lines maybe to get the point and just ‘read it later’ but don’t throw it in the bin straight away x

I would really quite enjoy the classic train magazines as I use to share this passion with my dad. We were working on a Candian Pacific train set, and never got around to finish it. Hopefully I might be able to reignite his passion with those.

I watched old tapes of it when I was a kid
When we used the oscilloscope in GCSE (O-level) Physics, I commented how it reminded me of how the clangers talked and literally only the teacher knew what I was on about, which meant every time it was used in class I would laugh, remembering the clangers and everyone else just thought I was weird/crazy/both

Since he does it every time, I assumed that they are trying to focus on it before showing, but it is puzzling.
It's not the cameraman it the editor switching from A rool to B roll both are recording at the same time so nothing to do with the cameraman........ I AGREE it's annoying

I would like the Dublo catalogs from the 1960s because I am a huge train fan and even though I live in America I like British trains more
