That preorder wait time is the biggest thing stopping me. I simply refuse to wait 1+ years every single time I want to upgrade my display. We just don't have that long to live, and I'm not spending an actual percentage of my life waiting for these display cases. They absolutely NEED to fix that before they get my business.
A few comments on these: -I do woodworking as a hobby. Regarding the price of these, I did a cost-out for these versus building my own out of wood and/or aluminum. The bottom line is, once you get into custom acrylic cutting (glass is WAY more and much heavier) and lighting, magnets, setup, etc, then you start to see the actual value of these Moducases. The price/convenience factor alone makes them quite worth it, and they look great. I'm working out my order this weekend, but the lead time is brutal, usually a year. They are going to robot aided manufacturing in September, which is supposed to be a 60% improvement, but even now they say current orders will be delivered late Q1 2023 :{. They are also coming out with new configurations soon, ie: corner units. Realistically, the price of a wall unit is only a few Hot Toys these days anyways! Thanks for the video!
I am a fan of the Detolf's tall vertical design especially once a back drop is added. I'd suggest looking into the Moducase Sixth98 units for anyone seeking that Detolf or WonHobby display look. Stacking two together with two shelves in each will give you that Detolf look with less negative headspace and more width to pair figures from the same series. Example Pyra and Mythra 1/7th scales don't fit face on together in a Detolf but can in a Sixth98 with about three and half inches head room and with just a bit more negative width space if two shelves divide the case equally.
I recently received mine after 14 months (ordered during black friday 2021 deals) and I'm in the middle of assembling them. I mostly collect 1/7 & 1/8 anime figures and I had them in 2 detolfs, a vittsjo and a bookcase but my collection has simply grown too big for it so I hope I'll be able to fit them beautifully in my moducases and have some space left to grow :) I'm already liking how they are not glass and if I have to move appartments it should be relatively easy moving them by just taking the cubes apart. The assembly instructions online are quite lacking so thank you for your videos, they helped me a lot.
Great video and review. As usual very clear and concise explanations and breakdown. Your display looks great and you still have plenty of space to grow. You’ve future proofed your collection Graeme! 👊🏼😎🇮🇪
My DF combination order is finally arriving early next week, 4/4/22. I ordered back in black friday sales of Dec 2020.. By god the wait is brutal. The popularity exploded just as COVID, Stuck Boats, Boat traffic and Putin's BS. None of it was Moducase's fault and can confirm they keep you posted when there's meaningful movement. The initial sticker shock is there but I'm willing to say these are the most affordable display cases for the volume and features period. Seriously go look up display cases like you would find in a jewelry store. They cost just as much if not more. The nicer ones cost greater and lacking in something. Good luck finding one that has LED lighting, nearly lockable doors, dust proof, greater weight limit, two color options for frame/background/lighting. It goes on and on. Plus they're expandable! If you use up all your space you can add to it. The wait again kills it but Moducase did update on social media they are indeed expanding production and introducing more new stuff too. I have a detolf and yeah it's still king for inital affordable display cabinets but thats also the reason why I hate it cause there's no competivie option. When you start putting them together they just waste space.
It took almost two years for your cases?! I ordered in nov 2021... I’m hoping Q1 2023. It’s my first order and a large order... I really hope it’s worth it. And I’m hoping to maybe get a corner unit later on
@@redofscale9584 Yeah I ordered a DF combination so I guess size will also effect allocation. I'm now with the "wait was totally worth it" group. It's so good when you finish assembling - putting them together sucks but gonna be tough to wipe off the big on grin you'll have. Detolf price also went up recently so its less cost effective now.
Thanks for this video! I ran across these on sideshow as an alternative to the detolf shelf. Putting together my first two detolfs was very easy but the one I received yesterday was such a pain to put together, it’s still not right and I think something is wrong with the metal where you screw down the bolts. I have too many figures and too many on preorder to continue dealing with detolfs. With all of that said, these are the way!! I am obsessed and love the fact there is enough room to create scenes or display multiple figures easily. I’m about to place a hefty order and I know it’s worth the wait. It looks like sideshow is going to get them to me a bit sooner than directly from moducase. Thanks again’
Been contemplating these for a while for a remodel of my collection room. Your point about "scenes" at the end is something I might miss about more segmented options.
@@thejediknightswatch How many figures would you say you could "comfortably" (not cramming them.togther too much) fit on one of the long shelves? 15-18?

Great video! I do like the look of the Moducase display but I'm still very happy with my Detolf displays. I only have room for 3 Detolfs in the space my wife allows me to have. Lol. This keeps me from collecting too many figures. I have to be picky with what I choose.
Quick question: when joining 2 moducases horizontally, and when you have multiple vertical stacks, do you still secure the vertical stacks on both the left and right sides? I’m putting mine together right now and that’s what I did, but they don’t seem to fit side by side very well. Not very flush. Thanks!
Congrats on the 2K and amazing setup. Just curious for that exact setup, all in including shipping how much did this run? I’ve invested in nearly 22 Detolfs and would really hate to start over but I love the classy look of these. Thanks
Thanks for the support! I have the sixth2200 which is one of the more affordable combinations. If I remember correctly shipping was free! I believe you have to put 50% down, but the rest is due when ready to ship, so you have about a year to save.
Great video! I saved all of your other videos on building the cases and plan to watch them when I finally get notified of when mine ships out. I knew they took long to ship, but I wish I had known that the estimated time they give you is underestimated because I wish I would’ve ordered multiple ones all at once. I ordered the DF60 model and I was wondering if you think getting a riser to go with it to boost it off of the ground a bit would be worth it?
What a massive collection mate how many do you have? I'm jealous mate looks like you have a ton I tried to count and there's like 30 👏🏼 do you sell mate? Cheers!
I had been contemplating these for a while the issue is I only have enough space in my current room for 1 detolf (haven't bought it yet because of the known QC issues) so I've been in a Mexican standoff with myself over if I want to buy one of the smaller cases or wait until I move out to be able to fit a full wall unit.

Looks awesome 🔥 Would you recommend it for regular action figures like Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series or NECA figures?
They are about 20” tall so if you had tiered shelves probably, otherwise it might be too much air space.

Hello, which one would I need for the 1/6 Batmobile (Tumbler)? Thank you in advance.
You would need a DF series case. The sixth110 is about 2 inches too thin.

just brought the The dark knight tumbler does it fit perfect on the 110? or should i stay with the Moducase DF120 Case
It is too big for the sixth series.
hey, can you place the moducase on top of a cabinet that is as wide as the moducase themselves? and stack them too?
I would say yes as long as it doesn’t exceed that cabinet’s weight capacity.

I understand that they recommended a max load of 66 pounds or so but what do you think the max load a DF could handle
Not entirely sure but can check the website when able!

You can order risers or drawers on their site

Sorry to hear that! They’ve always been quick to respond for me.
@The Jedi Knights Watch What is the height of your ceiling? Im getting a similar moducase setup and would like some perspective on the look.

If you were to display 1:1 scale busts on top of a Moducase, will it hold? Was looking for specs, but can’t find them.
Not exactly sure. You would at least need a top board to set it on. May want to ask them directly tho
How many figures can you put in each D120 without vehicles or dinamic poses?
Not sure off the top of my head as I only own sixth110 cases. Moducase’s website might have a diagram for you.
