Milky is sooooo cute! 💕 My girl is extremely shy, I thought that she would never let me pet her. After four years, though, I was blown away that she finally started to trust me and let me pet her. Now she loves petting and trusts me 100%, she never gets scared anymore. It's totally mind blowing. I'm so grateful to her, she's just the sweetest little thing.
Thank you so much for taking care of these rabbits properly! And especially good job - you’ve put them in pairs and their free roam :) You don’t know how much that means to them
We have two bunnies and the other one is super affectionate basically with everyone he meets. He's like "Oh, a new friend!" and flops on their feet. But when we first got him, at day 3 he managed to get a piece of tape stuck on the sole of his foot from a cardboard box. So I took it off (held on to the tape as he hopped away) and a little bit of fur stuck to it and it apparently hurt him. He turned and looked at me with shock in his eyes, thumping his feet. "HOW COULD YOU?! I TRUSTED YOU!!" was his reaction. :D He kept looking at me, thumping his feet on the ground and wouldn't let me pet him. So I decided that he probably needs some space, but he kept following me around, thumping his feet, staring at me. The little fella made me feel really bad. After he had really made sure I knew never to take pieces of tape from the soles of his feet away ever again, he finally let me pet him and then very visibly kept licking the sole of his feet like "this is where it hurt. This is where you hurt me. Right here." in front of me. :D After that, we haven't had any problems.
I have two rescue bunnies and I've found that they are both very different when it came to bonding with me. It takes a lonnngg time to gain trust but when you do it's just the best thing ever! :) Thanks for your videos!
I got a rescue bunny who was neglected all his life (3 years) and he is terrified of humans. It's been 6 months but super slowly he has begun to trust me. He even let's me pet him sometimes now! Thank you for this video
You made a great point that bunnies aren’t cuddly like dogs and cats. They are skittish; some are more than others. ALL pets have some drawbacks but if you can accept them, then I think bunnies are great, quiet pets.
It was so cute when you said "like Milkly because he's mis-under-stood" I'm lying on the floor next to my new rabbit while I watch this video. I've found it to be helpful- thank you!
Beautiful bonding. They are adorable. It took me time to bond with my bunny but he's so loving now he's a darling. Brilliant video so nice to see how well looked after they are. My bunny rules my home lol. He's special needs with seizures but we live in his house not the other way round 😂
It's so wonderful to hear that you've given him a loving home! I always say the same thing! I don't own the bunnies, they own me hahaha! I appreciate the compliment so much, I really do try my best to take care of them.
I just discovered your channel and I can already tell you’re going to blow up! Loving the content so far, can’t wait to see the future videos :) edit: also I’d love to see a grooming routine!
Isn't it so cute when they flop on there sides all long? My 6 month old netherland dwarf is really warm to me after just 3 days having her doing the same skills in this video. Loved this :)
I have 2 rabbits. The first one is a 2-year old female, and the other is a 6-year old male. The 6-year old sleeps next to me for like 30min-1h daily. It's so cutee!
Ever since my bunny was a baby I have handled her and picked her up but always knew her boundaries now she’s completely comfortable and trust me. Just me tho lol she doesn’t let anyone else pick her up
I just got two baby bunnies. And ive only had them for about 6 or so hours but i think im doing a good job because one has already flopped right infront of me. Also i think they like me more than the last home because they came from a house that had young kids and one of the babies looks like she has either (red orange grease) or orange marker on her foot so i think the kids did not handle them properly and it made them shy. But im glad in such a short time ive already made them happier and more comfortable
i love these videos just descovered today trying to get my bunny to like me only had it for a month but he likes the way that i pick him up now THANK YOU
This vid really helped, thank you! I recently got rabbits again but never realised that I needed to just give them their personal space. They now have a big 9m x 3m area to free roam in outside, they were used to being inside but after they ate through one of our internet router cords it was time to get that outdoor area ready.
OMG THANKYOU SO MUCH! I have been trying to subtly pet my bun for about 1-2 months after bringing her home! I don’t reach and try to pet her which could make her scared, I never go past her limits. I started off hand feeding her pellets and slowly started petting her cheeks. I have been doing that until today! It worked so well! I gave her a pellet then I stroked her cheek, I repeated the process a couple more times until I gained the courage to give her a pet on the forehead… IT WORKED!!! Thankyou so much! I will continue to watch your video’s as I am also Aussie. Also could u maybe do a what I feed my bunny video one day?
milky looks a lot like my bunny artemis and she’s the most skittish too hehe but she does love food so she lets me pet her if i give her treats… it’s a good deal in my opinion
My partner and I got bunnies a few weeks ago and unfortunately we managed to adopt them during their molt- which meant we had to brush them! Thankfully one of the girls has warmed up to me enough that I can brush her, I have ro take a slightly different approach because they’re such nervous girls, but the other, she holds a grudge! She growls, she bashes the brush. And she’s the one who needs it the most because she doesn’t groom her sister much, she begs her sister to groom her 🥲 so her sisters getting double fluffed
Love the video! My bun just started gradually grooming me within 2 weeks of having him. I don’t actually know how we got our special bond it just happened because I spend a lot of time with him
Does the tray of the white table even belong to the legs? It looks like it would fly off if you barely bump it. I can see that the tray doesn't fit, nor sit level. Non-Bunny question, I know. But if it fell on the Bunny, then it's a Bunny question. That said, this is prolly the best and most informatively accurate Bunny channel I have seen on youtube.
Extremely perceptive question! Haha, it is quite a strange design for a table, it kind of locks into place so there's no problems with bumping it etc. in terms of this video, not sure what happened here but I definitely locked it back once I realised it! xx
My poor bun was an abandoned stray living in a park with his siblings. So he's VERY skittish and still runs to hide in his box fort around me. I've tried getting down on his level/lying down, but it just seems to freak him out and he stays hiding. He barely comes out for treats. I'm not sure what to do... I feel bad he's not getting any social enrichment, but I also have a cat so I have to be careful introducing them before trying to free roam him. (He's in a little room with a baby gate.) He actually does seem to like and trust my cat, though, since she constantly sits over there to watch him. So I guess he's not incapable.
So my bun, Peanut butter, she ran out of her playpen when I was about to leave, I had to pick her up, I got her a couple of days ago, so she was really scared. I feel really bad because now she’s not as affectionate with me, I’m sure she won’t hold a grudge, but I still feel really bad!
bunnies really do hold grudges! i once had to leave home for about a week with my parents (we had people watching him), and when i got back he was very temperamental! he was refusing strawberries from me but nobody else, he wouldn’t even come near me, and he did this weird thing where he grunted and binkied at the same time?? this was a while ago however, and now he’s back to normal and bee-bopping around my bedroom!
I found this video very helpful. I have observed many videos bout gaining trust, but some how non as clear for me as this one. I’m new having a rabbit. And after watching this video I see how many mistakes I made. There was a lot of progress that was reverted due to impatience :( and i has To atarte solo ver again!!! I would Run happy to my partner and say.. he left me touch his feet!!! He never did that before 😂and like that with every little progress
I love how you celebrate the little successes! For some buns you have to work really hard, I get shocked when milky let’s me touch him but he doesn’t let me all the time, so I leave him be hahaha
I suspect my bunny Cinnabun holds a grudge because I have to brush her but I we are getting better during Grooming time. I am careful not to pull when her brush catches a snag and for the most part she is okay. So that's a step in the right direction. I recently expanded her pay pen cage so she has more room and i saw her do a Binki for the first time in a while.
Well most bunny’s won’t. My bunny does but the other one I have hates it. If ur bunny doesn’t like it just pet them while on the floor where they feel safe and secure
My newer rabbit won’t let me hold her without putting up a fight so getting her out for playtime is HARD. My other rabbit who I’ve had longer and got from a bad home let’s me pick him up bc when I hold him it feels like a hug and he likes hugs. He trusted me a lot faster because I gave him space, the right food, and lots of love :) all of which he hadn’t had for three years :(
@@MW-wr8zg my bunny when I got him was the world's first for being picked up. But I have to to medicate him for his seizures so I had to make it happen. I also have to syringe feed him after seizures. I did a video called now V then a while back and wow he was squirming and fighting he was just awful. I found to pick him up put him high join my chest under my chin and put his paws on my shoulder (don't put rabbit high enough to jump over the shoulder) and then I stopped restraining him it was the restraining him he disliked more than being held. Now I never restrain him. At the end of my last video I'm holding him to medicate take a look at the end of that video only few seconds. I've many other syringe feeding videos where I'm holding him. But he really was awful like a wild pig! But with no restraint once I've lifted him he will sit on me. I also burry my face in his neck and talk to him calmly. Hope this helps and Binky really was awful. Apparently his mum was the same about being picked up. These days Binky is fine with it it took about 7 months keep doing it. But as I say I have to for his treatments. Bunnys do like their feet on the floor for sure
Hey Kat Thanks for the great content. Do you have any tips on discerning a rabbit’s personality based on limited interactions at a breeder’s/pet shop? Would a rabbit like Ash come up to a stranger as he does for you?
wow im blessed my bunny never has once showed me he distrusts me. i think its because i let him roam instantly while he came from a cage. his cage is now just his sleeping and poopy area. if not he sleeps in his bed in his enclosure. its all his choice i tried using a litter box but he prefers to poop in that spot,. its been a pretty fun experience as he just wants to be able to see me and chill out. I prefer to leave him be and just do his thing. So much better than a cat lol
@@Katesque he knew me already so i was able to let him run around but it hasnt been easy since chatting i have not been able to litter train him as he was never trained before seems literally impossible at this point. maybe u have tips. he seemed to be pooping in his spot but now he poops whereever he feels i am not sure why prolly knows he is spoiled.
so im back with an update. I think I may have gave him too much too soon and overwhelmed things because he attacked my hand when i was cleaning up his pee the other day. It startled the heck out of me and i reacted by yelling owe then walked out of room for a moment to clean my hand. Ever since he goes at my hand if i get it near the bars to move his cage or near him. He was always a sweet rabbit and now all of a sudden im literally scared of him. That bite hurt and hes attacked 3 times since. Did I screw up? I was literally just trying to give him a good life becasue my ex gf had him and he just stayed in the cage all the time. FYI when i look at him he looks like he wants to hurt me while before he looked at me almost like he had a small rabbit smile. I can see it in his eyes like he wants to lunge at me. Hes become posessed. I love him very much and refuse to remove him from my home. I dont swing that way and will never give up a pet they are family so i am sure it will repair. Just wanted to make mention. :( thanks
@@Katesque and lol what i meant by that is i was letting him walk around close by near me instead of constantly interacting with him to bother him haha i dont just leave him alone to roam the house just wanted to clarify that lmao
Our rabbits being caged for such a long time.. It's my sister's rabbit btw, and she never let the rabbit go out.. She just left it in a cage, the cage is big but I feel bad for the rabbits being stuck there for like 2 years.. They never have the chance to play, run, jumping and have fun 😢 I feel bad, so today I decided to let them go out but inside our house.. They look so confuse and scared to walk cuz they've never been out before 😭 I don't know how to make them comfortable and be friendly :( There are 2 of them (Choky and Kimi)
Love these videos! Do your buns really leave that basket alone? It’s gorgeous but I’d be stressed all the time that it’s not long for this world if I left my Rudy & John with it 🐰🐰😈
Omg thank you xxx for a while they left it alone 😂 can’t say the same now, for the most part they do if they’re more interested in their toys, but they have taken a nibble into it, it’s gonna fall apart at some point I just know it 😂😂😂
Your videos are so helpful thank you!! I wonder if you can make a video about how you bunny proof to keep both the bunnies and your furniture safe? Thanks!
Thank you xx 🤔🤔🤔 I can definitely do this, I think I’m still figuring out bunny proofing for myself hahaha can’t really advise until I figure out how to stop them from digging my carpet 😅 but I can give a few of my tips xxxxx
Both of my rabbits are rescue rabbits, and very skittish. They aren't free reign right now becuase of this. I tried putting treats in my hand to let them get used to my and learn I'm the bearer of treats. But they've never eaten a treat I put in the food dishes, not once. I dont pick them up often becuase it's hard to get them back in the cages, and they're both very skittish with being picked up. I pet them, sometimes they let me do that but it's only for a few seconds
I like to take my rabbits outside every day in the grass and I need to pick them up to clip the nails.... how do I do that without pickinge them up/ making them scared? :/
I love how down to earth she is. She's not trying to put on a show and make it seem like her and her rabbits have a perfect lifestyle. How to get your rabbit to like you
Step 1: realize that your rabbit sees you as a vending machine
Step 2: let him/her dictate your schedule, ie: if your rabbit tells you to take up knitting, you do it
Step 3: collect his/her poop. then they'll know you mean business and want the senior executive position
Step 4: convince friends and family to also collect poop
hahahahahaha omg frr

I love how you celebrate the little successes! For some buns you have to work really hard, I get shocked when milky let’s me touch him but he doesn’t let me all the time, so I leave him be hahaha
So much Love you have for rabbits.
Ah ty I was doing it wrong and kept touching her and trying to give her hugs and stuff but yea Tysm for this video
LOL yeah I've learnt to leave them alone cause they just run away now hahaha
Ok now I have to learn how to potty train them and stop them from chewing cords!!!
Great video and channel subscribed. I don't have a rabbit but still found these tips helpful.
Thank you for your support! I guess you’ll be super prepared if you ever encounter anyone with a bunny or decide to get one of your own hahaha xxx
Hallelujah amen 🙏
Omg at 4 mins so cute!
i love this video very much😍, question where do you put ur rabbits litter and what do you put on it?
Rabbit flops over in the middle of the video lol...
I found it really cute hahaha
I suspect my bunny Cinnabun holds a grudge because I have to brush her but I we are getting better during Grooming time. I am careful not to pull when her brush catches a snag and for the most part she is okay. So that's a step in the right direction. I recently expanded her pay pen cage so she has more room and i saw her do a Binki for the first time in a while.
I can’t pick my bunny up for the life of me 😬
My bunny used to be awful to pick up. Like a wild pig! I kept going and these days he's like oh ok whatever lol
@@binkybunnysway943 Thats great! I hope I can do that one day with my bunny but who knows lol
Hey Kat
Thanks for the great content. Do you have any tips on discerning a rabbit’s personality based on limited interactions at a breeder’s/pet shop? Would a rabbit like Ash come up to a stranger as he does for you?
What a sweet flop!
What about baby bunnies i have a 5 week old and hear its good to make them use to being held and that they cant have treats until they are older ❤😊
This is very helpful, thanks a lot!
Thanks for the vids. Very helpful!
My rabbit and I have slowly bonded, ever since getting a rabbit I just wanna know how to make him happy.
Thanks for the tips..my rabbit is flopping on my side just sitting there or sleeping ..before he hides and even bites my hand if u carry him
uploaded on the day i turned 20 and also got some wild like 2 rabbits
wow im blessed my bunny never has once showed me he distrusts me. i think its because i let him roam instantly while he came from a cage. his cage is now just his sleeping and poopy area. if not he sleeps in his bed in his enclosure. its all his choice i tried using a litter box but he prefers to poop in that spot,. its been a pretty fun experience as he just wants to be able to see me and chill out. I prefer to leave him be and just do his thing. So much better than a cat lol
interesting approach! but I totally agree sometimes I just enjoy watching them and leaving them alone haha xx
Idk why but my bunny doesnt take treats from me, he just eats it when i put it in his bowl :(
i realy needed this thanks
Our rabbits being caged for such a long time.. It's my sister's rabbit btw, and she never let the rabbit go out.. She just left it in a cage, the cage is big but I feel bad for the rabbits being stuck there for like 2 years.. They never have the chance to play, run, jumping and have fun 😢 I feel bad, so today I decided to let them go out but inside our house.. They look so confuse and scared to walk cuz they've never been out before 😭 I don't know how to make them comfortable and be friendly :( There are 2 of them (Choky and Kimi)
My rabbit will let me pick her up sometimes. She likes being touched/pet more than when I pick her up.
th rabit looks cute
You forgot something 👑 🐇
Really helpful video, thnx
Love these videos! Do your buns really leave that basket alone? It’s gorgeous but I’d be stressed all the time that it’s not long for this world if I left my Rudy & John with it 🐰🐰😈
Omg thank you xxx for a while they left it alone 😂 can’t say the same now, for the most part they do if they’re more interested in their toys, but they have taken a nibble into it, it’s gonna fall apart at some point I just know it 😂😂😂
Awesome tips 💕
Yayyyy! Hiiiiii!
omg hiiii hahahaha you're the first one
Your videos are so helpful thank you!! I wonder if you can make a video about how you bunny proof to keep both the bunnies and your furniture safe? Thanks!
Thank you xx 🤔🤔🤔 I can definitely do this, I think I’m still figuring out bunny proofing for myself hahaha can’t really advise until I figure out how to stop them from digging my carpet 😅 but I can give a few of my tips xxxxx
@@Katesque thank you! Haha yes I live in a rented apartment and have to be so careful!!
omg milky sits like a little person I love him 🥺♥️
Milky looks like my rabbit
Both of my rabbits are rescue rabbits, and very skittish. They aren't free reign right now becuase of this.
I tried putting treats in my hand to let them get used to my and learn I'm the bearer of treats.
But they've never eaten a treat I put in the food dishes, not once. I dont pick them up often becuase it's hard to get them back in the cages, and they're both very skittish with being picked up. I pet them, sometimes they let me do that but it's only for a few seconds
Hi, my Holland Lop, Chikita Gugu is so thin, I wanna fatten her up because she's so scrawny, what's Milky diet?
❤
4:54 lol do you not have a vacuum attachment for under the couch ;p
HAHA I have no excuse for that poop under there just thought no one would notice or expose me for it 😂😂😂😂
omg unrelated but where is the romper from?!
I like to take my rabbits outside every day in the grass and I need to pick them up to clip the nails.... how do I do that without pickinge them up/ making them scared? :/
What breeder did you buy your 2 bunnies from? I know you adopted milky 🧡
When I was still in university I got Ash and Milky from gumtree which is the Australian version of Craigslist 😅
Thx my buns r kinda not sure about me and I think this will help
