Kuki CSOs issue advisory for Sep 26-28 | Meitei CSOs submit memorandum to PM Modi | News9

Kuki-Zo civil society groups have issued a warning, expressing concerns over potential attacks on their community in the coming days in Manipur. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum and the Kuki Inpi Manipur have announced a series of precautionary measures for the safety of the Kuki-Zo community, including advising people not to travel outside Kuki-Zo-dominated areas from September 26 to 28. Additionally, the groups have called for a complete shutdown in Kuki-dominated regions on September 28. Meanwhile, prominent Meitei civil society groups have urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the escalating violence in Manipur. In a memorandum, they highlighted drone and missile (rocket) attacks allegedly carried out by Kuki militants in September 2024, claiming that these assaults are part of a larger separatist agenda aimed at creating a separate state.
