Mackerel are one of my favorite fish. They are so much fun to catch and plentiful in our area of Maine of Frenchman's Bay. The flavor is rich and I enjoy them on the grill or as Sushi. Your video really captured the beauty of the coast here, the fog just adds to the mystique. Great video as always!

Reading the comments on Fisherman’s life brought me here... Awesome intro, quality footage, beautiful scenery. Definitely keep it up and your channel will blow up in no time! 👍🏻

I had raw Mackerel once at a Sushi bar--Almost lost my Cookies!!! Cooked with seasoning is Perfect.

Wish I could have used it ice fishing this year but I just don’t have the gear yet. Thankfully spring is finally here in Maine.

My dad always spoke poorly of mackerel, but it’s a beautiful fish and I’ve heard it compared to salmon, so I’ve got to give it a try. Great video 🤙

A lot of people have that impression of mackerel I feel like they get a bad wrap because this fish dose does not keep well at all. it's by nature an oily fish and can become extremely "fishy" if not eaten fresh. But id highly encourage you to try it, fresh mackerel is truly one of my favorite fish to eat. That we have locally anyway. I'm actually thinking about doing a video this week specifically going over this subject. Good to hear you enjoy the videos, tight lines!

Whatched Asians eat them as soon as they take them off the hook . They slice them real thin and eat them fresh

Just subscribed to my new favorite channel. You should come down here to Popham sometime and do a striper/bluefish video in the summer. Love your videos man!

That's a huge goal of mine! I need to buy the gear first. Don't think that little bait caster will cut it XD

I agree...Popham or Reid for stripers. I think you’d come up with some pretty good content

Bluefish most definitely can chew through 30-pound braid. Sadly. Unlike many I love to catch blue fish, but you really do need a steel leader.
