The knife's edge tension of Dune: Imperium with the sparse art echoes the feel of the novel. The balance between the seemingly unimportant and marginal Fremen and the galactic scale of guild, the emperor, etc directly evokes the source, too. You can't ignore either. Its phenomenal.

Nusfjord: Is a tight, compact, Uwe Rosenberg worker placement game using the theme of owing a fishing company in the historic Norwegian fishing village (check your favorite map). The game has seven turns, and players get three actions per turn. There is competition for action spaces, but unlike, for example, the multitude of options in “A Feast for Odin”, the game feels more like a knife fight in a closet. The three main resources are wood, fish and gold which players use to construct buildings, attract elders, and increase their fishing fleet to provide themselves with advantages to gameplay. Each turn, players have more things they want to do than they have the ability to perform, and the other players are also there to get in the way. The game scales very well from solitaire to five players. The three base decks and the two expansion decks all provide a different take on how buildings function so players can implement whichever flavor they desire. Nusfjord is a focused game that provides all that Uwe goodness without overstaying its welcome or overwhelming the player’s decision tree. Kneeyouuuuusfeeyord!

Wow ... so much fun watching you both present games you like. This time you gave me TEN (yes, half of them) that I want to go check into and find out more about. This time I didn't have any of the games you mentioned, though I heard about some of them. Can't wait for the next lists that hopefully includes some of the games I have and enjoy! Thanks for doing this great service for us - your overview is perfect for someone new to this gaming thing!

I’ve yet to play a legacy game! Maybe one this pandemic is over. I get my shot tomorrow though!
I would have loved to hear a little more about Maracaibo vs GWT.

Nice! Almost all my gaming is with family now thanks to Covid and I am by far the most experienced and competitive gamer so it really forces me to be selective in what I bring to the table with my wife and kids (14 & 19). Horrified is one which works really well as there is a small learning curve, it is cooperative, there is no player elimination, and it is just plain FUN. Great pick.
Pandemic lost its luster quickly when I brought it home in March of 2020... and Blood Bowl would NOT be fun for the reasons Louis perfectly pointed out.
Crokinole is a big hit at home and I expect to see it on the list as we move forward. That said, it really pisses my wife off when she bounces off the same post several times in a row.

When Oh My Goods was mentioned that might be the closest I've ever seen you show dislike for a game. This got me wondering if there is a game out there you flat out dislike, Kim? For me, it's Marvel Champions. I'm not a Marvel guy to begin with, but I do love Legendary.

I dislike few games, but here's my short list: Balloon Cup, Galaxy Trucker, and Pompeii. I really like Oh, My Goods, but I can't. Seem. To. Win. It.
